Being that my wife works in Loomis, she was on the way home last night and said to me, hey I found this new Chinese restaurant over by chase, would you like to go? I said yes, and we went into the restaurant and noticed the decor and the lighting. After walking in and being seated we were then presented with our Drink options and since we are Pepsi people we chose Pepsi. In that same breath we also ordered Crab Rangoons, aka WonTons and when they came out they were hot and fresh and delicious. The amazement though came when we grabbed our Pepsis they were Ice Cold, to the point where they felt like they were on the brink of freezing. But that was a good thing because it was Ice Cold and Refreshing. We then ordered our food and I ordered the Sweet & Sour Pork with Chicken Fried Rice, and my wife ordered the same entree but with Chicken Chow Mein. The food came out several minutes later and it was hot, and also delicious. So far this is a win for my book because not only was the food good but the friendliness of the staff was also delightful to work with as well. With having to try and find a good Chinese place in the area, its always delightful when you find something that you like and the people at the restaurant are friendly as well. The service was so good. The food was fresh made to order and they have the cutest little helper there my first time there and I will definitely be returning Customer. What I didn't like is Almond Chicken, it has way too much zucchini as I felt like I was eating a zucchini dish, just a dash of carrot and too sweet - like why so much sugar? The amount of chain was ok BUT it wasn't nice pieces of chicken it was really straggly pieces so it felt like I was eating chicken scraps. The Chicken Corn soup - why do you add sugar? Took my friend to Granite Bay Chinese for her birthday. Service was barely ok. Had to ask repeatedly for lemon for ice water, napkins and Hot mustard. The restaurant was nearly empty at 12:30 in the afternoon. Furniture was standard 90s style Chinese restaurant. The food was NOT good. Sesame Chicken and General Chicken were over cooked, the pot stickers were undercooked and the Chow Mein was greasy. I LOVE Chinese food and luckily there are dozen's within a five mile radius of my home, but this is one I suggest you skip! I took home the leftovers because I didn't want to insult my friend's choice for her Birthday Lunch, but I can say, for the first time, I didn't even offer the food to my dog. It went straight to the trash! If you're in the greater Roseville area I suggest Leo's Kitchen, Chang Bros., PF Chang's, Chopsticks or Fats Asia Bistro. If you're in the area up for a drive and want some 5-star tasty food in a 90s style restaurant...go to Vacaville to my FAVORITE PLACE...Wah Shine! Worth the drive every time. Picked up takeout from Granite Bay Chinese Restaurant and took it home. It turned out to be a pleasingly tasty meal. We ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp, Snow Peas with Beef, and the House Special Fried Rice. The food held up well despite the time taken to drive home. The Snow Peas with Beef was particularly good. Tender slices of beef, slightly crunchy snow peas (not over cooked) and flavorful fried rice. In my opinion better than the average Chinese restaurant meal in the area ...... for the money. If you're looking for a bagged green salad that you can get at raley's, deep fried chicken strips and bottled dressing, then this is the place for you. It wasn't for me. Very disappointing. Found this restaurant on yelp and decided to try, when we arrive note on the door under new management. Decided to try anyway. Greeted on entering and very attentive server. We placed our order but food was very slow arriving, my husband had Calamari dish which he enjoyed but I thought very tough and was done in a light flour coating and lightly fried, all large rings. I ordered one of the combo lunches #3 but when arrived shrimp was substituted with wrapped cheese deep fried and main dish was not broccoli beef but sweet and sour meat. The plus was chow mein was chicken chow mein. There was only one other table when we entered who were finishing and as we waited for food one other came in and was served their food first. When you order a lunch special normal served very quickly and mine was served very late. I hope they get their business more organized to be able to succeed. read more

It's been 5 years since I last reviewed so I feel it deserves an update. Granite Bay Chinese is a stable in this community. There are few and far-between options for Chinese food, and this is my go-to in Granite Bay. The food itself is solid, definitely not the best or most authentic but it's reliably tasty. The service is a toss-up. At times it's fine, but other times I've waited over 2 hours for the first dish. There is really no rhyme or reason why some times is fine and others is miserable. The prices are somewhat high, but comparable with the local places in Granite Bay. The decor has not been updated in the 20 years I have been coming. There's not much else to say, it's a solid 3 star choice and there's nothing wrong with that. read more
