    Lunch Menu

This is an update to my review from several months ago. On this occasion I decided to eat in, instead of ordering to go. My visit was for a late lunch. I was greeted by a very nice gentleman and seated right away. The place is very nice, bright and has a kind of low key comforting vibe. I loved the jazz music that was playing in the background. I ordered brocolli chicken with chow mein. The egg drop soup tasted great (especially on this gloomy, chilly afternoon). My order came out in about 5 to 7 minutes. It was nice and hot and very tasty. There was enough on the plate for 2 meals. The jazz music playing in the background made this an enjoyable leisurely lunch for me. I will have lunch here again very soon.

Our group wanted some good wonton soup so we looked up Google reviews & this place had the best reviews. We were warmly greeted upon arrival. Waitress gave us a few minutes to make our decision and our order was processed and receive within minutes. Our order arrived fresh + hot and you can tell all the vegetables were freshly prepared that day in fact it was apparent that the seafood was not frozen. The dining room is very inviting, comfortable, relaxing, and trendy. It makes you forget you're not at home. I strongly recommend this place as a go to restaurant because it will be on my list.

True rating: 3.5/5 My husband and I came here for lunch and got their Sichuan chicken and pork with eggplant dish. For the lunch special it was $15.75/each. Came with a hot and sour soup. We felt like the dishes were good but not very memorable. They also didn't feel very "meat" heavy. There were a ton of veggies for both plates which can be nice but felt it was skimping on the meat. The soup was actually my favorite! The inside is very clean and modern. Service was quick, nice, and attentive! I'm glad we went to try a new restaurant but not dying to go back. Looking for some other new and yummy Chinese restaurants around sac!

12-25-2025 4:30 pm. Ambiance: Awesome setting. You have several big screen TVs to watch sports while waiting for your food. You can view the kitchen while they cook your meals. Pretty awesome. Service: Amazing. We had nine people and our waters and drinks stayed full. The food was served fresh, hot, and correctly. Nice selection of beer, sodas, and wine. Food: The best Chinese food in the Sacramento area; hands down. Everything we tried was amazingly delicious. I particularly enjoyed the Bejing Beef and Baos. We paid for 4 people and with 20% tip the total was 200.00. Worth every penny!

We stumbled upon Folsom Palace while in the area and what a great decision. The decor inside the restaurant is colorful, classy, and such a vibe. I loved it and the service! Wow amazingly friendly and accommodating. Our server had a lot of energy. We ordered the wonton soup, pork fried rice, chicken Thai basil chow fun and the Korean bbq short ribs. Everything tasted delicious and came out hot! You'll have to stop by and check it out for yourself!

Thin fillet of Cantonese Style Salmon, Sea Bass

I was impressed by how clean and modern the restaurant was. We had a chicken dish, tofu, and the crispy noodles, and all three were great. The dishes were flavorful, and the chicken and tofu came with generous portions of mixed stir-fried vegetables. I was actually sitting in the restaurant, ready to write a five-star Yelp review, when the Cantonese sea bass arrived. For $30, it was a tiny, roughly 1 cm-thick fillet of white fish. I had been trying to order the crispy version, but perhaps due to my error, the steamed version with ginger and soy sauce came out. It still did taste good. But seriously, many restaurants serve a whole fish for that price, not a small, previously frozen fillet. It disappeared in about five minutes, which was disappointing, especially since the portions of everything else were reasonable. When I come back I will confirm if they have whole fish, otherwise I would pass. Finally, I would recommend they offer a real homemade crunchy chili oil without vinegar. What they brought out looked and tasted more like oily sambal than chili oil. Overall, the food and atmosphere were very good, but the sea bass kept this from being a five-star experience.

This was a hard review to give a number to. I'll explain. First of all, I've been here several times and the food is excellent. The restaurant is pretty inside and comfortable and clean. There is seating inside and out. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. My review is based on a situation that happened the last time I went in for lunch. I got my bill and it was not correct, according to their menu and their website. The website says one price for lunch special, the in person hard cover menu says another price and I was charged five dollars more than both of those prices. I had Sweet and Sour Chicken lunch which was a small portion of chicken and a small portion of Fried Rice. No appetizer with the lunch special. I did not want the soup. It was $18.95 on my bill. I had an order of six pot stickers and my lunch portion of chicken and water....and the bill was (with 20% tip) $43.50. Yes, $43.50 for one person for lunch. I knew the price was incorrect and asked my waiter. He said oh yeah, they've raised the prices two times....but never changed the online menu or the hard cover table menu. I don't think this is okay. There was not a manager or anyone available to talk to about it. The price for both items I had was more than advertised. I do not have the means to spend that much for lunch for one person! So unfortunately I won't come back to this good spot. I will reiterate, the food is good!

    Ambiance

Great food, great service everyone is kind and excited to see you. Had the Korean steak strips- so tasty! The walnut prawns -huge and perfect! The Korean spare ribs had great flavor and were tender. The chicken fried rice was the best I had in Sacramento area. Beautiful ambiance

I chose this restaurant for Mother's Day as their food is amazing and the atmosphere is beautiful. It is an Asian fusion restaurant with a mix of modern decor with traditional Chinese art. Despite making a reservation we had to wait for our table and it took a while for our food to come out. Everything was incredible: even the most simple dish was flavorful, and everything was spicy and seasoned perfectly. My kids were picky Eaters and happily ate everything. The staff was upbeat and friendly despite how busy it was; the manager was laughing that he was Superman running around. I can see why people chose to take their moms out for this special day at this restaurant. I was happy to make memories there.

The food was good. The lemon pepper chicken was fire. The sweet and sour chicken was delicious and lastly the chicken rice was good. The service was on point and he never missed a beat. The environment was nice and the ambiance of the place was dope. Music was great. Very calm and good vibes

My only complaint on this Sunday, June 21st, is that after the initial basket of bread (which had exactly four pieces for the 4 of us) we were told by Reece that the restaurant charges $2.00 for each extra piece of bread! I was shocked, and frankly, it's an insult in my opinion, that Rudy's is so "cheap" about the bread! For all we pay for our dinners, asking for extra bread should not be a problem nor an extra charge! That really is a shame because now I am hesitant to consider bringing friends to Rudy's. I hope management will reconsider its' position on the service of bread.

Just before noon we were seated right away but it took several minutes before our server actually showed up. I noticed the ambiance was dark and hasn't changed AT ALL over the past 10-15 years. It is showing (and smelling) it's age and really needs a freshening up to a clean and modern take on Italian decor. Outdoor seating is available and the restaurant is in a well maintained shopping area near a grocery store. We loved seeing the fresh made bread coming out of the oven which is served with an oil/vinegar dip; however, the bread was doughy in the middle and became inedible. The Fettucini Alfredo for $25 was meh. The pasta was gummy and the sauce needed A LOT of salt, pepper and extra parmesan to amp up the flavor. The Penne with sausage was good with full flavored red sauce. And the pizza and other dishes that went by looked delicious but I based on this trip I am not sure we'll be back.

I was surprised with the quantity of fish they gave us and they even added a fried zucchini and onion, yum! The soup and fries were yummy but it was the fish that really stood out to me. Between the awkward service and 1.5+ hour wait for food, this celebration didn't go the way we'd hoped. We had a 6:30 reservation for a party of 7 to celebrate my engagement with family visiting from out of town. We placed our order right away but didn't receive our food until after 8pm. To make matters worse, one plate was missing entirely, and that guest had to wait an additional 20 minutes for it to arrive. The server was apologetic about the wait and offered to comp our desserts as a gesture of goodwill, which we appreciated. When the final plate arrived, we were quietly discussing the $3 avocado upcharge among ourselves, since the tacos came with barely a sliver of avocado. The server apparently overheard us, because she returned moments later, silently set down a small plate with extra avocado next to our food, and walked away without a word. The gesture felt pointed rather than helpful, and it left the table feeling uneasy. The food and drinks themselves were decent. But by 8:45, we didn't want to wait even longer for the comped desserts, so I asked if we could have our drinks comped instead, since a couple of the cocktails were priced similarly to the desserts (which ran up to $16). The server seemed uncomfortable and said she could only comp two desserts, offering 10% off the bill instead. This wasn't what had been discussed earlier, but at that point we just wanted to wrap up the night, especially since my parents had a long drive ahead. Given the service, we'd quietly decided as a table not to leave an additional tip, only to find a 20% automatic service charge already added for large parties. This came as a surprise since it wasn't disclosed anywhere on the menu. It's a shame, because it's genuinely a charming space. Unfortunately, the service that night fell short, and it really affected what should have been a special evening.
