Omygoodness!!! My mouth is watering just thinking of our meal the other day! First, the service was fantastic. Our waiterS were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable in their menu options. One of them was super friendly -- maybe even a bit cheeky! -- and he made us feel at home. Second, the ambiance was dinner date night worthy so long as you don't mind a few TVs. They didn't bother us nor was the volume obnoxiously loud. The bar area is fun and modern-looking. Third, ohmygoodness! The food was sooo delicious! The Cantonese-style Seabass paired quite lovely with Shrimp Fried Rice and Combination Veggies!!! The seabass was topped with sliced ginger and onions. It was super tasty!It reminded me of home cooked meals growing up. The shrimp in the fried rice was tender and lighted dusty with some type of flour that made it perfectly crisp. And the combination veggies was perfectly cooked and served in a light sauce! Thing is, I'm not a huge fan of "Asian Fusion" but this place seemed to hit all the boxes for us. This is an update to my review from several months ago. On this occasion I decided to eat in, instead of ordering to go. My visit was for a late lunch. I was greeted by a very nice gentleman and seated right away. The place is very nice, bright and has a kind of low key comforting vibe. I loved the jazz music that was playing in the background. I ordered brocolli chicken with chow mein. The egg drop soup tasted great (especially on this gloomy, chilly afternoon). My order came out in about 5 to 7 minutes. It was nice and hot and very tasty. Our group wanted some good wonton soup so we looked up Google reviews & this place had the best reviews. We were warmly greeted upon arrival. Waitress gave us a few minutes to make our decision and our order was processed and receive within minutes. Our order arrived fresh + hot and you can tell all the vegetables were freshly prepared that day in fact it was apparent that the seafood was not frozen. The dining room is very inviting, comfortable, relaxing, and trendy. It makes you forget you're not at home. We felt like the dishes were good but not very memorable. They also didn't feel very "meat" heavy. There were a ton of veggies for both plates which can be nice but felt it was skimping on the meat. Loved everything our dinner here! This restaurant had been on my radar for sometime, but the fact that it was called Folsom Palace lead my brain to believe it was in Folsom-took me a minute to grasp that it was actually right down the street from me in Citrus Heights. Our usual family of four was a family of three for the evening and this was the restaurant we chose. Boy did family member number four miss out! The service was impeccable from the moment that we walked in. That includes being greeted right away. The waitstaff was incredibly attentive and on top of the details. We ordered some pretty standard items off the menu to please everyone-vegetable chow mein, lemon chicken and pot stickers. Even though these might sound like boring dishes, they actually came out with such flair! The presentation on the dishes were gorgeous. They tasted amazing as well. I love the lighting of the restaurant. It gave it such a chill vibe. It's on a very busy street but you've never know it once you walk in it kind of feels like you are more tucked away in a smaller neighborhood.. We stumbled upon Folsom Palace while in the area and what a great decision. The decor inside the restaurant is colorful, classy, and such a vibe. I loved it and the service! I was impressed by how clean and modern the restaurant was. We had a chicken dish, tofu, and the crispy noodles, and all three were great. The dishes were flavorful, and the chicken and tofu came with generous portions of mixed stir-fried vegetables. I was actually sitting in the restaurant, ready to write a five-star Yelp review, when the Cantonese sea bass arrived. For $30, it was a tiny, roughly 1 cm-thick fillet of white fish. I had been trying to order the crispy version, but perhaps due to my error, the steamed version with ginger and soy sauce came out. It still did taste good. But seriously, many restaurants serve a whole fish for that price, not a small, previously frozen fillet. It disappeared in about five minutes, which was disappointing, especially since the portions of everything else were reasonable. When I come back I will confirm if they have whole fish,otherwise I would pass. Finally, I would recommend they offer a real homemade crunchy chili oil without vinegar. What they brought out looked and tasted more like oily sambal than chili oil. Overall, the food and atmosphere were very good, but the sea bass kept this from being a five-star experience. read more

This was a hard review to give a number to. I'll explain. First of all, I've been here several times and the food is excellent. The restaurant is pretty inside and comfortable and clean. There is seating inside and out. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. My review is based on a situation that happened the last time I went in for lunch. I got my bill and it was not correct, according to their menu and their website. The website says one price for lunch special, the in person hard cover menu says another price and I was charged five dollars more than both of those prices. I had Sweet and Sour Chicken lunch which was a small portion of chicken and a small portion of Fried Rice. No appetizer with the lunch special. I did not want the soup. It was $18.95 on my bill. I had an order of six pot stickers and my lunch portion of chicken and water....and the bill was (with 20% tip) $43.50. Yes, $43.50 for one person for lunch. I knew the price was incorrect and asked my waiter. He said oh yeah, they've raised the prices two times....but never changed the online menu or the hard cover table menu. I don't think this is okay. There was not a manager or anyone available to talk to about it. The price for both items I had was more than advertised. I do not have the means to spend that much for lunch for one person! So unfortunately I won't come back to this good spot. I will reiterate, the food is good! read more

As far as I know, this is a brand new location, so none of us had been here before. The food was amazing! Also the service was great! This is their 3rd location and it's obvious why they are doing so well. There were 8 of us and each of us ordered a different dish and we shared, "family style". We ordered, crab and cream cheese wontons, teriyaki chicken, lemon chicken, pork fried rice, ribeye steak, just to name a few. Everything we tasted was delicious and seemed very authentic, we ALL thought so The restaurant was nicely decorated, the employees were kind and helpful. Overall, this spot is like a glorified Panda Express. 2 of our dishes arrived wrong, and the quality and taste of the other dishes were just average. Items seemed to be smothered in sauce, and the meat is chewy and not good quality for the price you're paying. For dinner, they do not offer combo options, everything is a la carte. So if you order a meat dish, you have to also order rice or noodles separate. Service was extremely slow, 15 minutes to get our waters, no refills, and no one to come get our check until we flagged someone down twice. I don't understand the positive reviews. I chose this restaurant for Mother's Day as their food is amazing and the atmosphere is beautiful. It is an Asian fusion restaurant with a mix of modern decor with traditional Chinese art. Despite making a reservation we had to wait for our table and it took a while for our food to come out. Everything was incredible: even the most simple dish was flavorful, and everything was spicy and seasoned perfectly. My kids were picky Eaters and happily ate everything. The staff was upbeat and friendly despite how busy it was; the manager was laughing that he was Superman running around. Tuesday afternoon lunch. Dining room not busy. Immediately greeted by a happy and gracious hostess. Seated at the premium front window table. Nice furniture modern and sleek. Comfortable chairs. As you can see from many Yelp photos the dining room is delightful chaos of colors, many mismatched (yet matching) ceiling drop lamps, wall sconces full of knick-knacks, and a giant TV screen over the bar. I didn't get bored looking around the place. I ate the $15 Kung Pao chicken combo lunch meal. The introductory hot and sour soup was just that. Lots of black pepper in it. I like peppercorns and spicy food so the soup was great. Thick broth, many small cubes of soft tofu, nibs of green onions. The main dish of oh so tender spicy chicken slices with a medley of crispy fresh wok fried vegetables was good enough. A bit on the sesame seed oily side. I chose chow mein noodles for the starch. Had the same sauce as the kung pao so the plate in its entirety was a bit boring. None the less I did gobble up every noodle. Portion big enough that I boxed up at least 1 cup of food for a take home 2nd meal. I'll make dry ramen and throw the kung pao on top. I have not eaten restaurant Chinese American food for 6 months. This meal was a nice re-introduction. Maybe return for dinner when I can shamelessly order a glass of wine or 2. There's some respectable wines on the list. One of the best Chinese restaurant's I have ever had. We usually come once a month and buy a bunch of their dishes to feed the whole family. Authentic food, all good ingredients. Cant ask for more. Everything is good, the Wonton soup is the best ive ever had, same with the clay pot dishes, Kung Pao, and Sweet and Sour Pork. Sadly today we ordered over $160 worth of food and my favorite dish (Beef Eggplant Clay pot) did not have any meat and tasted quite off. I have eaten this dish on 10 different occasions and its always amazing, but this time it was just not good, not to mention they forgot my beef! I have visited this place three times and the interior dining area seemed inviting and service was timely. The food was decent and it was convenient when driving on Sunrise. It felt each time I noticed the food portions were not enough and now I know why - they add a bed of decorative cabbage and flower on top of it on every plate to "fill it out". The illusion was to make the plates look like it had a normal sized portion. The last time I ate there, I ordered a $28.95 Steamed seabass among other dishes. The tiny piece of fish came out, and it was probably no more than 5 oz; the usual cabbage and rose aforementioned above then a bed of vegetables underneath the piece of fish plus ton of onions on top with lettuce below scattered all around the plate. We had to stop the server and ask, why is this so small for the price? He replied if you want bigger, we are gonna have to charge you extra and walked off. Looking at their short ribs dish, there was a bed of broccoli underneath it also. That is really deceptive and charging more than most places for the small dish is just plain wrong in my opinion. Another shocker at the end is when I received the bill, they quietly tacked on an additional dollar on each food entree order plus the hot tea was nearly $6! When they noticed me start comparing my bill to the menu, they came by and told me they had posted this "obsure" note on the counter that no one can see from their tables. A quick glance shows they implemented this policy back in Feb but the guy said they just haven't order new menus yet to show the chance and laughed. It has been 4 months and seeing that my "3 bite" fish is now $29.99 instead, I was quite angry. Nevertheless, I am not paying an extra 4 to 6 dollars a dish to eat here, especially when there are many other good and better places. read more

I've been wanting to try since Ive driven by and read the reviews. It exceeded my expectations and everything we had was great. Started with fried calamari and pot stickers and both were great but the pot stickers were top notch. Also had the Pork Chow Mein which was one of the better I've had. Lemon Chicken was crunchy and amazing. Mongolian Beef was killer and the honey walnut prawns were huge and the sauce was very good. My son said it was the best he's had. The lead in the dining room was wearing a red chef jacket and his personality was outstanding. Super friendly and made our restaurant experience. We had a lady and another gentleman in all black serving us as well. They are clearly a team here. We ordered crab cheese puff appetizer, black pepper chicken, an the Singapore Rice Noodles.
