I want to support local businesses but I can't afford to support this one. They charged me $7.50 for a 2 x4 x 8 hem/fir stud today, Lowe's charges $3.98. Plumbing, electrical, hardware, paint, etc. are ridiculously expensive too. They have so much packed into this store. And a cat ! Always friendly folks and usually I can find what I am looking for. Lumber, paint, gardening supplies, hardware of all kinds, even some art stuff. It's a fantastic store to wander. Ace does have reward points for coupons, so sign up for that. Added bonus is the gun shop. He's been good about finding ammo and letting us know when it's coming in. We like this store. read more

Was in there yesterday afternoon . I am a local buisness owner and have patronized this store for over 30 years . Walked in and headed to the back as I needed one small bolt to finish a project I hade ben working on for the last few hours . They said 'we are closed . This is at 3 o'clock in the afternoon .I told then i needed an 89 cent bolt and i have cash .Are you realy gona make me drive to Marysville to get it .Not there problem and I should leave .The new owners have a lot to learn about small town hospitality . A 89 cent item cost them a thousand or so I spend there every year . I won't be back . I will drive to Arlington Hardware where they know how to treat customers . read more

Great small town hardware store. Love the creaky wooden floors and twists and turns in the aisles to find what you are looking for...and more! The gun and ammo selection is wonderful and is known locally as the place to go for such, or just pull a stool up to the counter and talk guns with Dan, the owner. They can and will order almost anything that is not in stock. It is nice to go into a shop where they do not freak out if you open carry your personal firearm. You're stepping back in time when you walk through their doors; from the old wooden floors to the old revolving shelves. I love the historical aspects. But more importantly, I am pleased to see that their prices are very competitive to the big box stores. We have built a custom home and it's nice to have this store in town for our purchases. The staff is amazingly helpful and immediately greats you as you enter, they will inform you where your product is and take you to the item as well. Great customer service! read more

After much shopping around, my husband and I bought a *brand new* shotgun from Granite Falls Hardware. Once we got it home and checked it, the inside was extremely dirty for a *new* gun. I called and spoke with the owner who said he would give us a new cleaning kit or ammo. I told him that I was upset, we paid for brand new, not used. He wanted to see the gun, but when my husband brought it in, they turned a blind eye, said they couldn't see any dirt and therefore they didn't believe us. They did absolutely nothing for our inconvenience and therefore we will not be returning ever, and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I stopped in at Granite Falls on Friday the 29th. It has been 12 years since I've been in this store at the time it was True Value. Back in 2003 they had superb plumbing supplies lotsa hard to find stuff. Well unfortunately I wasn't at all satisfied with their plumbing and hardware selection. I think granite falls hardware turned for the worse now that now they're taken by ACE HARDWARE NOT TRUVALUE NO MORE! Their plumbing is not that great anymore! They had a way better selection of plumbing items before. Now its all this corporate big box store cookie cutter junk that they got on the shelves. I liked all the older rustic unused plumbing items that granite falls hardware used to carry. One good note the staff were friendly. But the bad news this hardware store has turned into a mainstream big box cookie cutter hardware store! I will not return. Granite Falls hardware was way bettrr when it was TRUVALUE. read more

Been going there for years --- locally owned, local staff, always friendly and know their stuff. Old fashioned store with a little bit of everything you need, and what they don't have on the shelf will be special ordered and arrive on Thursday. Gun shop is an added bonus.
