Hard to find a place like this. Amazing beach and grounds, great food at the cafe, lots of things to Do, wonderful cottages with helpful staff.

Came from California and have to say this place was beautiful! Any cottage you select, has a beautiful view and walking distance to a clean beautiful beach. Not overly crowded, everyone was pleasant, great equipment to rent, and just a beautiful place to swim or hangout on an inner tube. The staff was helpful, but the adults will have answers to your questions. Suggestions: -No TV, so bring some board games, hangout with the family, stay off the phones -Get a menu going for your meals, but they do have a cafe and Chewelah is not far. Safeway and a local grocery/hardware/fishing store are near and you can preorder at Safeway. -Most people sit in chairs on the beach, so better to buy a chair than beach towels. -Accommodations are simple, don't go and act like you are a Hollywood Star! At loon lake you are not! - Enjoy the peace and tranquility, learn to fish! Last but not least, thank you for reminding my family there is life outside of California and damn is it beautiful! We can't wait to go back!

We can't say enough great things about Granite Point! We had our wedding there and it could not have turned out better! Not only is the location absolutely gorgeous but it was also so convenient that our out-of-town guests could rent out cabins or bring their RVs. The team at the resort was so incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout the planning process and the entire weekend too. We're forever grateful for all of their help in making our day absolutely perfect. Our guests still haven't stopped raving about how much fun they had and how wonderful the resort was too! 10/10 would recommend and we can't wait to come back and visit in the future!

The views are stunning, the staff is friendly, and we will definitely be coming back! BUT I will say this.... for what we paid for a weeks stay in their most basic cabin, I'm unimpressed. It seems little thought was put into making them a comfortable stay. Main issue, there is NO AC. No fans, nothing. Only reason we survived the july heat was because my father in law provided a box fan that we moved from room to room as needed. Paying so much to stay somewhere that seems to specialize in summer stays and activities, we were all SHOCKED to find there was no air in the cabin whatsoever. Especially since it's been 100+ degrees this week. We tried multiple local stores, up to a half hour away, and every one was sold out of any kind of AC units. So we suffered... If you don't mind sleeping when it's hot, this place is great! Hands down would recommend. But if you have trouble sleeping when you're hot, I wouldn't stay in these cabins. OR be prepared to spend a few hundred on a decent standing AC and bring it with you. Also, our cabin was some sort of duplex, which I thought was odd. Our neighbors stayed up late and that's hard for families like us with little ones. Would've appreciated a cabin with more privacy and quiet, like the other cabins on the property. Rentals are a bit expensive but the food and drinks seemed reasonable. Very tasty breakfast! I wish I could give this 3.5 stars but that's not an option, so I'm rounding up just because we will come back. Just please be aware of the fine details when booking a cabin here! Also, check out is 10am! A bit early if ya ask me. Even hotels give you til 11. Hard to pack up and clean up between breakfast and checkout when you've got kiddos

Granite Point resort is a friendly resort on the stunning Loon Lake, just north of Spokane, WA. The cottages are great and offer variety of experiences, from a nostalgic 1950s vibe for the history buff to a recently built cabin with the most modern decor. All the cabins are extremely clean and well kept! The beach is beautiful and is the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun, then take a swim in the crystal clear lake. My favorite part was relaxing on our cottage balcony with a cup of coffee and watching the sun rise over the lake. Thank you to all the staff and the owners of the resort for giving our family wonderful memories!

This park was AWESOME!! The beach was amazingly beautiful, clean and fun! There is a small store/bar where you can buy beer and beach/fishing things. This place is OLD, but had a nostalgic feel to it. I am sure back in the day it was a bustling park. It cost us about $14 to get in and use the amenites, but if you plan to stay all day, it is totally worth it. They do have rv spaces available, BUT....I think most people live there if you know what I mean! The beach was enormous and had docks everywhere for watercraft, fishing, and a large dock with a diving board! The water was crystal clear and fairly warm. I would almost compare it to the sand and clearness of Lake Tahoe. Beautiful is all I can say! The bathrooms on the other hand....not beautiful! They are old, but usable. This is a great day trip if you are in the area of Deer Park or surrounding cities.

Are there fireworks July 4th at the lake?

Yes, a 4th of July Fireworks Show can be seen from our beach at 10 p.m. The fireworks are put on by the Loon Lake Property Owners Association. Thank you for asking Joni!

I found Dragoon Creek through my trusty little camping app called CAMPENDIUM. I also absolutely recommend for those hikers, campers and adventurers who enjoy getting outdoors and pitching their tents while exploring the beautiful parks in the Pacific Northwest....then Campendium is simply the best app on your phone to find campgrounds. Dragoon Creek is located 18 miles north of downtown Spokane, Washington. This was the perfect stopping place for me as I was ultimately heading 250 miles northwest towards North Cascades National Park to explore over there for a few days. I had read on Campendium that it was free to camp at Dragoon Creek for the night as long as you had a Washington Discover Pass. I had no clue what a Washington Discover Pass was and I didn't even know how to find one. When I finally arrived here the Camp Host greeted me by the front gate. He told me I could pick up this Discover Pass at the local Chevron gas station about 5 miles down the road in the town of Deer Park. This was not a problem for me. When I arrived at Chevron, they had plenty of passes. It was $12 to buy a pass for the night. Though they mentioned that for an entire years worth....it was only $30 and this Washington Discover Pass was accepted at plenty of campgrounds located all over Washington state. The pass was especially handy when I visited Olympic National Park with a variety campgrounds to tent around there. So, I happily paid the $30 and while I was at Chevron I picked up a few snacks for the evening. Returning to Dragoon Creek...there were 23 campsites to choose from. The Camp Host told me to pick an unoccupied spot and I was good to go! I think for me...best of all...the campground was set right within the forest with lots of space between campsites. There were picnic tables and fire pits for barbecuing. Summing it all up...Dragoon Creek exuded the absolute PERFECT AMBIANCE AND SETTING for taking it easy and relaxing in the woods. I couldn't have picked a better place. Thank you Campendium, lol! I set up my tent on a relatively healthy patch of grass (not on hard dirt) that was more than suitable and comfortable for sleeping at night. The surroundings were so quaint and pleasant for camping...I gladly snapped some pictures to remember this place. In all, I was just very shocked that I visited here on a random Tuesday over the summertime in the month of August and Dragoon Creek was empty! More than half the campsites were not even filled. I'm surprised by this because I felt the conditions here were ideal. The Camp Host did mention that over weekends, they get much busier. One big point also, I had cell phone reception...which I much appreciated. And...there was a sign saying the gates to Dragoon Creek closed from 9pm - 7am...so you certainly don't get any late night stragglers that are loud and noisy while you're already settled and trying to enjoy the evening. There were porter potties for bathroom use...but they were some of the most well maintained I have seen over my travels. I can't say enough good things about Dragoon Creek. They even had a little walkway path to a stream that I found quite refreshing. If you're in this Spokane area...come to Dragoon Creek Campground. What a hidden gem and I happily give 5 stars.

We unhooked car instead of driving around, although roads were not that tight. Found a great pull through in shade for our 4 day stay. Yes there are no sewer sites but we are okay with that, showered at the facilities. The showers looked like they were cleaned everyday. If we stayed longer we would use our tote and run to the dump station down the road. There are some 50 amp sites, but preferred the 30 amp site that we picked out. The grounds are very picturesque, the grassy meadow surrounded by forest, beautiful little lake. Hiked a trail that went around the lake and it was a bit of an adventure. Could use some pruning in sections. Enjoyed riding our bikes around the park roads, service roads, and the trail. The clubhouse looked tidy and had a number of active games to keep us busy. The pool looked nice, very busy with families on these hot days we've been having. The laundry had fairly new washers and dryers, they accepted credit cards as well as quarters. WiFi is hit and miss in the park which is not a deal breaker but wish it was better. All in all we would come back and stay longer.

Located just north of the city of Coeur D'Alene sits Hayden Lake, perfectly nestled in a quaint neighborhood with hillside homes and shady trees. Although a little small, the beach features plenty of areas to camp out near the shore or up the beach in the shade, and a dock to the right allowing for small watercrafts to launch into the water. We spotted the perfect spot for our party of 7 and set up camp. Docks surround the swimming area which allows for plenty of water depths to swim/float/dive/ect in! It was a beautiful day and the cold water felt amazing. The kids made sandcastles while the adults swam, floated and soaked up the sun. The snack shack features a wide variety of food and cold drinks ranging from sodas, and popsicles to pizzas, corndogs and more. Sure, prices are a little steep for the generic food, when I came back to the umbrella boasting cold popsicles, the kiddos loved it! The only major downside is parking. There isn't a designated lot, but spots line the road for at least a mile, so if you can't snag a spot up close (like we did!) be prepared to walk and schlep all your jazz to the beach. However, when back visiting family, I'd easily return to this quaint slice of paradise!

There's also a section with kids life jackets to use at not cost. The place is absolutely gorgeous. It's almost unreal The downside - it can get packed pretty quickly. So not a lot of elbow room on the those summer days when everyone wants to get out. There's not many options for parking. So if you're not lucky enough to snag a spot up close. You could end up parking 1/4 mile away. Still an amazing place to relax and have fun ! A must do !
