We decided to go with Bob at RLK Builders because he had built our pool deck over a decade prior and no amount of kids running and jumping on it for the past decade of summers got it to wiggle even a millimeter. That deck is SOLID and built to last. Like the pool deck, the new house deck is rock solid. I fully expect it to outlive me and it's beautifully made too with maintenance free composite deck floorboards and aluminum railings. There was a bit of delay due to Spring weather but the entire deck was torn off and rebuilt in just 5 days of work. I remember the previous pool deck being built faster than I expected too. Communication was great. If there were to be any changes due to weather, Bob promptly let us know and he always showed up when he said he'd be here. We felt the price was fair. If we'd have known our bathroom remodel was going to turn out like it did, we'd have done it…read moreourselves. After having spent over a month in our "new" bathroom, all we can see are the mistakes and items left unfinished. Very early on concerns were raised about the poor installation job done on our tile and we were assured it would be remedied once it was grouted. We knew that would not be true and it was not. After all, how was grouting a bad installation job going to fix it? it isn't, it's just going to make it more permanent. When the installers ran short on our custom ordered tile, we were assured that even though it was going to be installed wrong, the tile seam in the shower corner would be matched up and that we wouldn't notice that it was installed incorrectly. It does not match up and it is very obvious it was installed incorrectly. In fact, it is the most common question asked: "Why did you have them do your new tile wrong? Wasn't it custom ordered?" The installation company came out to look and agreed to "fix" a few issues, but both Mike and the owner commented that we shouldn't look closer. We already had and we knew the tile installation job was chock-full of mistakes we will never unsee. Even the installer that was sent to "fix" the few items out of many, commented that he didn't know why they installed it like they did - confirming it was a bad installation all along. We hired what we thought was a professional to remodel our bathroom including new tile. We waited 10 weeks for custom-order tile only to have it installed very poorly and nobody willing to admit that it was a bad installation job or take responsibility. We're not the only ones that have noticed it. We've had plenty of comments like, "Why is the tile like that?", "Oh, did you do the tile yourself?", or "Did you have it installed like that so it looks old?" Nope, just got duped into paying for a poor installation job. And that's just the tile. To put it as kindly as possible, all-in-all this has been nothing short of a nightmare.

okay, I'll update here since they finally installed the small granite piece for my stove backsplash…read moreand accommodated my request for first thing in the am. The 3 guys who arrived called ahead 20 min, and were super careful to measure thrice and keep measuring and using a level as the piece dried. I felt very confident watching their concern to get the piece on the backsplash in an attractive and straight manner. They could not have been more professional. I'll say it once and say it again: when you deal with the salespeople at The Granite Corporation (that's their real name not "Granite") you kind of doubt that they have a clue about what they're selling. I don't know what will happen and it takes too long for them to finish up a sale, even though they mean well. However, when the measure & install team shows up, those are the people who really know what they're doing. They are top pros. I asked Sam, my sales person, how are they going to make sure the glue holds on a vertical application, and she did not know. I asked her if I should cover my stove, and she said, don't worry (of course, I did). When they showed up, they scored the back of both my backsplash and the new piece, so more glue would be applied. They applied glue all around the perimeter (not visable). They taped the piece in place and I put a spongy rug on my stove (just in case). They said, glue sets in 10 minutes and they held it that long, and it is good to go in a couple hours when I can take off tape. I would have liked to know that there would be a little granite dust in my kitchen ahead of time, to have removed everything from countertops, but they did hold up a vacuum while they scored my backsplash, so I cannot say that I see any dust (besides my own). They scored the new piece outside my house. The treasure here is the cutting, measuring & install team. They are premium craftsmen, very experienced and know how to communicate with the public. They're the ones who should be selling the granite!

From design to implementation to final touch ups, this turn-key project was perfect! KBA took care of measuring, procuring, transporting, and installing the materials.
