You've probably been there before to get your Christmas decorations for the interior and or the exterior of your home. Lights, blowmolds, villages, angels, or maybe a pool, hot tub, sauna? For sure while your deciding which colors and how many lights you'll need you'll get distracted with other items you didn't know you wanted. Sales people refused to leave us alone Ben after we asked them to stop following us and that we did not need help. The third person we told this too would not stop trying to tell how to loom for things on the sales tag. First, I am not an idiot, I know how to read a tag and look for the key aspects of the item. Second, we had already said we didn't want help 3 times and he would not stop talking. We've had our pool for exactly one year and there has been a problem since day one of install! Customer service was not responsive and the installers rushed and did not do quality work. This year customer service is more responsive but won't take responsibility for bad work done by contractors or technicians. If you are getting a new pool, look into a different company. Update - I have contacted you're pool service line and haven't been helped to my satisfaction. I've called the store who says that it's not their problem. And I've texted with your pool service who isn't able to help. They are saying it's not their problem either. read more

Bought an above ground pool at the end of last year and while the buying experience was fine the pool has been a disaster. 2 rips in the liner already this year which I had to replace. The valve on the pool pump already broke so I have to use pliers to turn the valve on/off and this morning the pool pump sprung a leak. ALL of this after literally 2 months of use last year. I'm $600 into repairs already and I'm sure the leaky pump will add to that. PLEASE buy your pool somewhere else. This has been a nightmare. My yard is a perpetual swamp. Update - Just got off the phone with American Sale and of course they are not helpful at all. They tell me to come in and pick up another valve which isn't even the same brand and install it myself. After some pushing I got the guy to call some customer service tech out and I should be contacted within 24-48 hours. While my pool pump leaks like a faucet after literally 2 months of use. It was time for me to replace my artificial tree that I bought from American Sales a long time ago. I went to the store about two weeks ago to check things out and Lynda B was extremely helpful. I saw options but didn't make a purchase at that time. I drove out the store today (Monday) from Lincoln Park to make the purchase hoping Lynda would be working since I knew she was off on Sunday. Worst experience EVER. They lost our paperwork, the pool was supposed to be installed 5/22, didn't get installed until 6/7... once installed we were not supposed to pay a dime. The installer demanded $300 which was NEVER discussed. The pool they installed is a safety hazard. We have been trying to get a hold of someone for over 5 days regarding removal and a refund and no one will contact us back! Not to mention, the installers left our house looking like a junkyard and no one seems to care!!! After zero response from either company we finally decided to consult with an attorney so hopefully he can get this process moving. I love that Lance was being great at customer service....NOT! He never followed up with us until we were last minute. Real customer service would be calling at least every week with updates. He did not! Real customer service (not Lance's fault) would be covering the difference of the installers and following up all through the process! A real, solid company gets the job done! Im in sales and if I handled my customers the way your company did, I'd be fired and broke and my company would be out of business. Lastly and I'm done after this, it's amazing that after the company agreed to take the pool and refund me and the pickup service was taking the pool away, I got a phone call from Midwest Pool Installers. I purchased an above ground pool on May 13th and was told installation would be 2.5-3 weeks (depending upon weather). On May 26 I received a text that the pool would be installed on July 15 (9 weeks after the date of purchase)!!! This is 3 times the length I was originally told. If I had gotten this information mid May I would not have purchased the pool from American Sale. I contacted customer service through email and phone and still have yet to hear back from them (over 72 hours). I called the store on May 27 and asked what installation timing was if I were to purchase a pool and the woman told me end of June. They are misleading their customers to buying pools and making false promises on installation. I realize this is a busy time to install pools, however people would not be buying a pool in the Midwest knowing it would be installed when our summer is essentially over come August. If you are planning on purchasing anything from American Sale, take what they say with a grain of salt and do not trust their time frame they give you. In addition, do not expect anything of high quality from their customer service - they ignore you and never get back to you as they cannot fix their mistakes and false advertisement! I would not recommend American Sale to anyone looking for a trustworthy company. read more

I always acquired real Christmas trees until this year. We learned so much about artificial trees from Tim C. and Lynda that we ended up buying one. They were so knowledgeable about setting them up, taking them down and storing and preserving the life of the tree. They made us feel so comfortable and we feel great about our purchase. I bought Christmas garland on sale 1/7/29. It was suppose to be on clearance so I bought 4 for 4.99. I think the regular price was 10.99. So I am all happy I was getting a deal. Later the same door I found the garland for 1.44. So I went back on 1/9/19 to return the item only to find out if you Christmas items after 12/15 no exchanges or returns. I read the policy on the receipt. Its like a contract cancellation fees from 10 to 50%. There all kinds of restrictions. Make sure you don't plan on returning the item. I have not been in the store for a while cause everything is so expensive and some items are much lower else where. They did offer to give me store credit. But I decided not to take it. Buyer beware if buying a play set from naperville. I bought a play set in April 2017 and had constant issues that took me complaining for 5 months before getting parts to replace. One replaced the floor panels popped up and daughter foot got caught between panel and wood. Luckily i was close to catch her cause she feel backwards with her foot caught between the panel. I call and no one care and ask for picture. Ask to have a manager come to see this and say a repair worker will come out. Just seems no one cares at all. read more

First attempt to get a service call, we left a message on their answering machine - no reply. 2nd and 3rd attempt no response. My husband and I purchased Castlerock outdoor furniture 7 years ago from the American Sale store in Naperville, Illinois. The furniture, on sale, was $5,000. We were hesitant to spend this much money on outdoor furniture and the Sales associate, Kelly Thomas, told us there was a lifetime warranty on the set so we purchased the furniture. Kelly is no longer employed by this company. We cover the furniture every fall and uncover it in the spring. This year we noticed one of the swivel rockers had a completely broken seat. I contacted the Naperville store manager and was told to send an email to their customer service department - which I did the same day. I have received several responses informing me there is NOT a lifetime warranty, there is a 5 year warranty. I responded to each email stating we were told the warranty was lifetime and therefore their Sales Associate either lied to us or misrepresented the warranty to make a sale and we want what we were told honored. I obtained the CEO, Robert Jones, email address on the internet and requested he contacted me about this issue. I have included Mr. Jones on all my emails. Mr. Jones' internet profile states he cares about his customers, etc, etc. I have not received any contact from Mr. Jones. His underlings have sent emails telling me they will replace the broken seat, as a one time exception, for $117.40 and implied my husband and I were confused about the warranty. WE WERE NOT CONFUSED! We were also told the tags on the furniture stated the warranty. The furniture was delivered and set up by American Sale. We received an invoice but no tags were given to us. I just love how an unethical company tries to pull rabbits out of their hat to convince a customer they did not do their due diligence. Please DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this company. They are unethical and have horrible and offensive customer service. Additionally, Mr. Jones should accurately reflect his lack of interest in his customers' issues on his internet profile instead of pretend he cares about them. There were none in the store and I was told they can't sell the display. Strange, since I've always purchased the displays in the past. Asked to speak to manager.
