1st, the supervisor Camden along with all staff are excellent. As a female, competitive shooter, I deal with a lot of condescending know it alls. I typically shoot at the ranges. I belong to, where people know me. Nobody knows me at Granite State. It was so nice not to have a man hover over me, putting his two cents in, before I even pull the trigger. I was offered help to reach the target stand (which I was grateful for since there were no stools). Other than that, I was left alone, which I was very grateful for. I say, based on experience at several ranges throughout the state, I can say that this is, in fact, the friendliest range in New Hampshire! Staff were all professional, polite, and more than accommodating. Selection was vast as far as pistols and rifles, however I did not see any automatic options which may sway some visitors. Granite State Indoor Range & Gun Shop recently handled the packing, transfer, and shipment of an antique firearm--over 100 years old--that I purchased from a private seller. Their role was limited to packing, transferring, and mailing the item, but the manner in which it was handled was remarkably careless. The pistol was wrapped only in butcher paper and a single kitchen paper towel--no padding, no secure wrapping, and nothing to ensure the firearm would even stay within the paper during transit. The paper towel bore the exact same pattern as the one visible in the seller's original listing photos. Either Granite State reused the same towel, or their standard procedure is to wrap century-old firearms in a single paper towel. Neither possibility reflects even a basic standard of care. The firearm did arrive intact, but only by sheer luck. In more than two decades of collecting, I've never seen a gun--especially of this age and significance--packed with such disregard. I'm including photos that show both how the firearm arrived and one from the seller's original post, so there's no doubt as to what I'm referring to, including the matching paper towel design. I would strongly caution others against relying on Granite State for the shipment of valuable or collectible firearms unless and until their practices are brought in line with even modest shipping standards. read more

Came on a Saturday morning with a friend. We had to sign a release form (expires after a year) and then able to get set up with a lane. They allowed one rental at a time along with a box of bullets when needed. Eye and ear protection are also offered as well as the target holder and the target itself. Each item does need to be purchased so if you want to save some money, be advised to bring your own supplies. Being my first time at the gun range, the workers suggested starting with a 22 mm, and work my way up. I was also able to use a 9 mm, glock, and an AR. They were very open to helping beginners as well as enforcing safety rules while being respectful to everyone. read more

I would HIGHLY recommend becoming a member, and would go for the highest levels as it pays for itself at the first decent firearm purchase. Took several great classes there and will take more as they come, bought quite a few SIG and S&W handguns and accessories from them and go there at least once a week to train at the range. 25 yards max distance is plenty for handguns and adequate for rifles. RSO are attentive and capable, which is a good thing! I was blown away to see this range has a 3.5 star rating as I entered it into my gps to check traffic. I guess it's true what they say - people only come to the internet to complain. I drive almost an hour to use this range. It's the only range I've enjoyed going to. Every staff member is friendly, helpful, and most importantly - knowledgeable. Went in yesterday with my family as pristine beginners and I must say I've never shot or held a real gun before and none of my family have like my brother, uncle and father either... regardless we walked into the shop had an intro talk with Jared who was extremely nice to us explaining to us thoroughly what we should and shouldn't, could and couldn't do when it came to the prices for each round each gun what we should do if we're looking to save some money like should we take the premium membership or not but whatever we shot at them they took to it properly like basically how to be smart about this experience... then we went over to the rentals and had Tyler who was present there had helped me check out all the fire-arms walking me through how each and every gun worked how it should be handled what rounds it took... as a newbie they never would get tired of telling me to aim always at the ground and when we got to the range finally I must say it stuck with me... when my folks were ready to select the guns we did then we had Bob show us the Safety precautions of the guns what to do walked us through in a very thorough way which is IMPORTANT IF YOURE A BEGINNER which was what we liked best certainly because as much fun and stuff it sounds when it comes to guns and bullets its a responsibility we have to know what it is for what it is and if we don't then we can never feel safe about holding it no matter how many people are there to help you in the range. Then we fired our guns Jared was great helped I spoke to him as I was waiting my turn and overall he was one of the most helpful in this experience for sure... If our guns wouldn't fire he would help us and help us load up the gun too overall the experience was really great. I was very disappointed walking in to this range, it's my 3rd time coming and the staff has changed. We walk in to try to rent 2 lanes they tell us we can only rent one mind you there's 5 of us so we decide okay we will just rent 1. We start looking around the store see if there's anything we can buy, 2 minutes after we are looking a employee comes up to us tells us if we can "air out" that we smell like smoke? Mind you I don't smoke and none of us smoked at all on the drive we car pooled... it's very strange we got in at around 5:50 the range closes at 8. We decide to leave as we are in the "queue" I get a text message saying one person in front of us 25 minutes until it's our turn mind you this is and hour and a half before they close, we decide to walk back in we continue to look around as employees ask other customers if they want to see anything but for some reason no one bothered to ask us mind you we are legal gun owners that came in with multiple guns so why are we being ignored like if we had no intentions to buy. Another text comes in saying now the wait is going to be 66 minuets it's now 1 hour before close. they finally call us up at 7:20 there should be 40 minuets left to shoot but they tell us we will only have 20 minuets if that's okay? Why would anyone rent a single lane between 5 people for 20 minuets. To me it's very apparent that these employees had some sort of prejudice towards us for no reason really a shame and a waist of time mind you we drove 30 minuets to get here. Will be taking my money elsewhere and never recommending this place to anyone. read more

Starting shooting there over 5 years ago before their grand opening. They offer Veteran discount, which is good for weekdays and weekends. My dad had gotten a membership with me and we used to shoot once to twice a week. They are a family friendly range and the staff are very friendly. The first day I ever shot there the VIP lounge was still under construction, later when it was finished looked really nice with a pool table and big comfy couches. The bathrooms are clean and the wait times are not too bad with the new online waiting system they added. So if I don't have a reservation I can use that. Two thumbs up. I also have taken a few classes there to include Rifle, Pistol, revolver, skull builder, conceal carry, and Mass LTC. read more

First indoor shooting experience and, while I did hate indoor shooting, the staff were great and tried to find a way for me to enjoy myself. They were knowledgeable and had lots of different types of guns to try. Every different gun was a different charge though, so keep that in mind. Maybe bring your own ear covers too, as that was my main (literal) pain point. People can bring their own guns, and someone brought an AK, which was intense. read more

This was my first ever indoor range experience, and it was amazing! First and foremost, every member of the staff was friendly, welcoming, and didn't mind just chatting it up (whether about guns or not). Let me also add that Chris is awesome! I may be biased... we share the same name (albeit spelled differently), and we have the same phrase tattooed on the left forearm. Back to the facility itself... it was very clean, full of things to spend money on, and their process is very streamlined and safe. From the moment I walked in the door, the emphasis was on safety (as it should be). I signed a waiver on an iPad (good for one year), they checked my ammunition, I donned my eyes and ears and went into the range. I was on the firing line for about an hour, and there is no range time limit for members (I signed up for their summer membership). Four of us were unable to shoot during the afternoon due to the club having a staff meeting and not announcing that afternoon about the meeting. I wanted to do a huge shout out to Granite State Indoor Range and Gun Shop trainer Arrash and sales associate Mac. This past weekend I brought my youngest son to the youth training. During the shooting phase of this training he got a little scared and didn't want to shoot, it was too loud, the gun seemed to heavy etc. He let Arrash's helper know he was leaving and left the range to find me. While he and I were talking through his fears Mac spotted us and talked with my son Mac offered to bring my son back into the range and when he turned that down Mac went and spoke with Arrash and after all the other students were done with their shooting Arrash came out and spoke with my son and convinced him to go back in and give it one shot. Well not sure on what convinced him but we went back in and not only did he shoot he apparently shot the best in the class, 6 shots in the bull. If you are on the fence about training at Granite state please let this convince you they are great. read more

I am a Member there now so I can shoot as often as I want for $20/month. The premium membership has a Private club room. I might have to check it out. But the basic membership has been an awesome value for me. Lots of turnover in the employees but always great people. The staff treats everyone well, sadly it's not that common in the area. This place is inclusive and professional and I've seen them do their best to make every customer feel welcome and well taken care of. read more

Two stars for this place and don't plan to come back. It's expensive and every little thing is extra. Range fee is $30 on the weekend, then they tried getting another $3 to rent their cheapo hearing protection. When signing up after completing 10 pages of documentation they asked if I was law enforcement/fire/military. I stated I was a veteran (USAF) and they asked if I had any proof. I pulled up my DD-214 on my phone, but they would not accept it as proof because it was not printed on paper. Really guys, it's 2019, I even offered to email it to them so they could print it out if needed, but they declined. They said if I had a printed one I could save $15, thanks for rubbing salt in the wound :) I'm not giving any more money to this place. read more

My wife and I just took the 100 course with Pete M. Pete did a great job keeping the class engaged, created an environment where it was easy to ask questions, and made it fun. I've been coming to the range for six months now, and the staff is welcoming and attentive to their shooters' experience. I was thinking about a membership I admit I am not perfect myself, however I always try and treat others with respect and kindness, when at all possible. I am a responsible gun owner. I notified staff that I wanted to simply verify I turned off the sights on my locked and secured rifle (bolt and magazine lock). Their inconsistent policy got me in a situation where one employee felt the need to yell at me, while looking at the sight knob on the the locked firearm. Instead of helping me, I was instead alienated and belittled. I feel uncomfortable opening up a gun case in public and thought I was in a safe environment. I suppose bringing in new customers and spending 400$ in 3 weeks doesn't buy you enough respect. I won't go back. Prior to this, I'm still not sure why I was interrupted and told to lower my rate on fire, on a semi auto I was having feeding issues on; all the while hosting full automatic shooting. I had to update my review. Yes, I love still love this place. There's one staff member in particular that has really negatively influenced every experience I've had here. I gave him the benefit of the doubt the first two times, but I've had bad experiences every single time (7+ visits). I'm updating my review because visitors should know this single staff member's demeanor is not indicative of the rest of the staff. I've enjoyed talking to and dealing with EVERYONE else, so when I have to deal with this one person I ask for someone else. Problem solved! I've never been to a shooting range before so I honestly didn't know what to expect when I came here with my wife. It was overwhelming at first to see so many guns everywhere.....They do a background check before you can rent their guns. After you are cleared, you can choose to rent any gun you choose. Since it was our first time, I asked for a good gun to start out with and they recommended a 9mm pistol. They gave us a brief training on how to load the bullets, put the clip on, and shoot. When we went to our lane, there was a staff member who was super helpful and understanding. If you are a noob and you have no idea what you are doing, don't be afraid to visit this place. They welcome new users and they will train you and give you all the tips that you need to safely enjoy your time! read more
