My coworker and I were walking along the road after eating at Filbert's and were very intrigued by a new spotting of Granny Fi's storefront. There were British fans strung all along the parking lot with signs promising delicious shortbread. As we came closer, we could smell butter and caramelized sugar wafting through the door. We made a quick stop inside just to see what kind of selection they had. The owner greeted us with such enthusiasm, explaining that she had only recently opened the high tea room and her shortbread cookie recipe spanned back from her mom's days in Edinburgh. There was everything from traditional flavors to chocolate ones, even some vegan. Then we spied the high tea and picnic menus and knew we had to make a reservation to return here for our next foodie experience. The day of our get together, the owner called to let her know a major accident had occurred in Aurora and to be careful getting here. Luckily it cleared by the time we hit the road. However, there was a controlled burn just down the road that was mucking up the air. It was so smokey, our outdoor picnic had to come inside. The backyard looked so quaint and whimsical, but we would have to wait another time. The staff had no problem relocating us. They apologized for not being to accommodate us outside. Regardless, the interior was so charming. Most of the walls consisted of enlarged photos of some buildings and streets the owner personally took in the UK. Multiple tables and chairs were antique mix and match sets. Our teas were served in some cute floral sleeves. And our food came in Tupperware tucked inside a picnic basket. The coronation chicken was a little dry. It did have some of that nutty tang but was lacking in curry sauce. The scotch eggs were super delicious. The egg was perfectly boiled and wrapped in some well-seasoned sausage. The fried coating on the outside held together well. Lastly there were also some cucumber sandwiches. For dessert, there was fruit cake, which I'm not a fan of. They are always dry with an excessive ratio of candied fruit clusters. But the shortbread was great. No matter what flavor they were, they were buttery, and broke apart in your mouth in all the right places. I am glad we stumbled upon this cute place. Would love to return again at some point!

I love every flavor of shortbread that I have ever got at Granny Fi's, but I will say that you don't want to miss out on Pumpkin Spice this fall season. It's a great gift idea as well!!

Absolutely perfect afternoon tea experience. The food was great, notably: the scones!! Tomato sandwiches (& I don't even like tomatoes), and the shortbread. It was everything tea should be, and the space is so cozy and nicely decorated. Service was great, they even accommodated my last minute vegetarian request, and the owner is very friendly. We left with so many bags of shortbread on our way out-you have to try the savory cheese & onion!

Granny Fi's is expanding - now includes A Spot of Tea and is in Aurora, OR Took my grandkids in for a spot of tea. Lovely new location - tea room full of character- a sitting room.

Came here with three of my girlfriends over the weekend and it was a better experience than I'd imagine. This is my first time attending a high-tea, but the $40 was worth the experience. The little place is so cute, with variety is tables & lounge areas where you can host small and large groups. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, of course walked us through the entire ordering process. My favorite part was we didn't feel rushed to enjoy are the baked goods that were brought out. Host took the time to explain each time, and made good tea recommendations that were decaf along with their flavor notes.

We chanced upon this place while we we were on our way to Chug coffee after our trip to the tulip festival. And, boy am I glad that we stopped and went in. This place is literally short red heaven. They have shortbread of every flavor you can imagine and also offer samples. After trying a bunch of samples I ended up buying the traditional shortbread, hazelnut shortbread and the millionaires. Every single one of them was buttery and delicious. They also have vegan and gluten free options available for folks who have dietary restrictions. The person at the store said that they are in the process of converting the place next door into a tea room and I just can't wait for that. Overall, if you like shortbread, this should definitely be a place on your list to visit!

When I first arrived, I poked my head inside and interrupted a very busy ice-creamer behind the counter to make sure I wasn't waiting for something they didn't offer - he said yes, they had dairy-free ice cream and I went back outside to wait in line properly. Even though it seemed to be a relatively short line, I stood outside for probably 15 minutes before getting inside the door, where the wait was just about as long. Once I got to the counter and asked about the dairy-free options, the young woman said they had dairy-free vanilla that they could add any of the "mix-ins" into (at an additional cost, of course). I asked for a small scoop in a cup with walnuts added in. (The machine that does the mixing is quite the contraption - ice cream and walnuts go in and ice cream with pulverized walnuts comes out. Fascinating!) The staff was helpful and friendly but they probably could use more than a couple of people behind the counter, especially on a warm holiday weekend day as summer is approaching. There are outside tables for nice days and inside tables for weather-y days. There were no trash containers outside, though, so I took my trash back to my car, rather than make my way back through the inside and outside lines of people to get to the inside trash container. Napkins are available inside but not outside so grab a handful before heading outside to your table. This 4-star rating is because I think there's potential here for a great ice cream place. However, on this visit, the dairy-free ice cream was just okay, nothing special, and the walnuts had seen better days but were still edible. Until they come up with more dairy-free options, I probably won't go back but if you're not lactose-intolerant like me, there are some yummy sounding flavors of ice cream that you could enjoy, with or without mix-ins.

They make fresh waffle cones in house. Prices are decent. My biggest qualm, from the one time I went with my friend and kids, was that we waited outside for over half an hour before we got past the front door. Once inside, it was another 15 minutes. Service was incredibly slow. One worker was soloing the scoops and cashier. The other worker was barely keeping up with making the waffle cones. It was very discouraging since this was supposed to be a quick stop. Solely because of this I am worried how service will be during the peaks times of summer.

You order at the counter, and they bring you your food at a table, or if it's coffee and sweets you get it there and then. Everyone in B's Bake Shoppe was friendly and greeted me with kindness, and a smile. They were extremely willing to ensure I felt welcome, even when flopping my latte order around as my eyes scanned over a delicious sounding special! My iced latte was delicious. I love trying new flavor combinations and the honey cardamon is a win. It has the sweetness, but a stronger bitter taste. This hit the spot for the day. The chocolate fudge brownie is RICH. It's creamy, dense, and tasty! 2 bits is all I could manage, and would definitely share this with friends/family when I bring them with me. The London Fog Macaroon tasted as though it had been in a freezer or fridge open air. It was subtle, but there. As a dessert I don't regularly have I can't say exactly if I'm just not understanding the flavor. I also found this one more crunchy than others that I've had. Past macaroons have been light and fluffy, but somewhat brittle. These were more dense, and crumbled under the first bite. The Turkey Pesto BLT tastes delicious! The greens overwhelmed the flavor at first, and as a personal preference could do with a little less L. But, it is a bLt, so I asked for lettuce ! Overall a delicious sandwich! I'll be excited to share this little local spot with family and friends in the near future.
