Such a lovely find for a local tea service. We enjoyed our high tea which had really great food pairings. All four sandwiches were really tasty from the bottom tier, the middle tier was probably my least favorite, the top tier had all the sweet treats. They also offer a children's tea service which had a lot of great options. The tea was fantastic (we ordered the Darling Darjeeling), but I wish we could have gotten one tea pot per adult instead of sharing one with the tea service. My daughter loved her apple and honey tea. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and they offered hot water refills more than once which was nice. The tea room was chic and very clean. Location was a little hard to find. Waze and Google Maps took me to the back parking lot, but the signage was on the street side of the building. read more

What a lovely afternoon tea spot! I've been to a few around the area and this place was quite small and quaint. They have a beautiful garden out front and they harvest the herbs and produce they grow there for their menu items. We got to try two recommended teas, the Darling Darjeeling and Moonlight Juhi. Both were delightful and full-bodied with the subtle florals complimenting each of the teas. I really enjoyed all the sandwiches and sweets that came as part of the tea set. The staff were welcoming and very knowledgeable as they described each of the food as well as the teas to us. We visited last Saturday to celebrate my sister's birthday and left feeling very disappointed. We opted for the $60 tea time menu, expecting a special experience, but several things fell short. First, all of us were given just one pot of tea to share -- which I've never experienced before at any afternoon tea service. Typically, each guest receives their own pot. They said we can only select one tea. Once we selected the said it would be an up charge of $10 for the tea we selected? Like what? When the pot was refilled, it was simply topped with hot water, so we were essentially drinking watered-down tea for the rest of the experience. For the price point, I would expect proper tea refills -- tea is not a costly item, so it felt unnecessarily cheap. The sandwiches were decent but extremely small -- and very fishy. The salmon and shrimp has a fishy after taste. I'm a seafood lover and I had trouble eating it. Each of us received only four tiny sandwiches and a few desserts around 5 small ones. Afternoon tea usually feels abundant and indulgent, but this felt skimpy. Additionally, the kids' menu consisted of dessert and sandwiches with fruit but no protein option, which seemed unbalanced and not very thoughtful. For $60 per person, this experience felt underwhelming and did not meet the standard of afternoon tea service we've had elsewhere or heck anywhere for that matter. I was very excited to find such a cute tea spot outside of Portland proper. This spot is in Lake Oswego which fortunately was close to where I was staying with my sis. It was her birthday so this was a fantastic little adventure for lunch. We went with the tea service which included savory tea sandwiches as well as a plethora of sweets. My favorite things were the savory tea sandwiches (I'm not a sweets person). I did really love the scone with clotted cream and jam - that was really divine! The tea sandwiches were really delicious - deviled egg, smoked salmon on rye bread, cucumber/apple/mint, and our absolute favorite was the shrimp with the lemon aioli. My sister doesn't even like shrimp and that was still her favorite as well. It seemed to have a hint of Asian flavor to it which really elevated it. The service was wonderful - we enjoyed two different types of tea. They do have a parking lot which is helpful. Food was ok. But service was kind of iffy. I felt like I was getting glares of annoyance from the waiting staff or that the staff was just ignoring me completely. Came with a friend that required some assistance for seating and when we booked she had told me she wanted to sit outside. I got there first as she parked and moved our reservation outside, to realize the chairs outside were probably not going to be stable enough for her. But as I was asking them to move things outside it was very weird energy. When my friend arrived and looked at the arrangement she immediately said she couldn't sit outside. Luckily they had seating available inside, but it was a bit cramped. The food was decent and the environment was whatever it was, calm I guess. The service vibe was honestly a bit pretentious... I mean, sure, it's Lake Oswego, but not Paris. I think they should back off from the table service a bit, moderate prices on food, and become more of an upscale tea/coffee shop. They were clearly proud of their tea (dissuading us from an initial attempt to order coffee... they'll make a pourover on request, but really steered us to the tea). Though the tea that we ordered (Chai) just didn't hit the mark for me. The chai came with cream only on request. I'm sure that the quality of the tea itself was high, but honestly just didn't have the flavors of a beverage that I've come to expect. The food was good. Bumblebee Flowers and Tea is a small, but lovely little boutique tea house in Lake Oswego. My mother and I visited for breakfast and tea back in December. They had an assortment of pastries and desserts in a display case and were currently making scones in the oven. I ordered the Izumi Dreams tea and the Asiago bagel with avocado, tomato, and cream cheese. I wished the tea would have had a bit more flavor, and it came out lukewarm, however, our server did refresh the tea with hot water. My mother ordered the scrambled eggs, and we both shared a scone. The scone was delicious, fresh out of the oven, and we enjoyed the mascarpone cream and jam on the side. Our food was served on China plates which added a nice touch to our experience, After breakfast, we looked around at the plants and books for sale. They had books wrapped beautifully in paper and a couple of plants, but for a place that has flowers in the title of the tea house, there were limited options...Perhaps because it was winter?? The tea was a bit on the bland side. Could have used more tea leaves in the pot. I thought it was just mine, but when I tried my friend's tea it was also bland. The scones and egg custard were good. That made up for the tea. A staff member, not sure if she's the owner or not, but she wasn't pleasant. She was very curt and snotty. The only time she talked to us was when I grabbed a table, she wouldn't allow me to sit where I wanted, moved me to a small table. After moving to a small table they made us leave because there were other reservations coming up. I didn't like that at all. They need to figure a way to accommodate all their guests. After being told I couldn't sit where I wanted, then asked to move, then asked to leave.... Not sure I'll be coming back because they aren't welcoming. Now I'm revising my post because it was flagged although I was only sharing my personal experience. I met a girlfriend here for lunch one Friday. I noticed it driving by, with the flower-filled courtyard catching my eye. I'm a big fan of high tea, so I am happy to see this little spot in Lake Oswego. The food and tea were all delicious; a bit pricey. The staff were all very friendly, attentive, and accommodating. When we asked for hot water we were given an annoyed look and no response. The sandwiches were very fishy. Bay shrimp on a thick bread is not something you expect at a high tea. We went to the Bumblebee for a friend's birthday celebration. It was my first visit there and I have to admit I was floored. The food, we had the Peking duck was absolutely delicious and so were the starters. The service was impeccable and friendly. We also enjoyed the small setting of the restaurant. It almost felt like eating in someone's dining room. But the very best thing was, that the owner, a very nice lady, explained to us the preparation of the duck and when she brought us a little pot of tea, how they source the tea, its medicinal value and how fresh their crops are, This was certainly another highlight of our visit and I can definitely recommend it to all food and tea afficionados. This restaurant is perfect. Talented chef, large menu, small intimate space, kind staff. Each dish is carefully prepared, visible in the kitchen that takes up half of the space. There are only 5 tables. We chatted with the couple next to us--it feels honey and that you are really all were invited to a special occasion together. The duck was delicious. In the top 2 Peking duck dishes I've ever had (I think the only more impressive one I've had was at Mr Jiu's in SF--and they have a Michelin star for comparison!). Dessert was also delicious, I already asked my family if my birthday cake can be the banana cream cake from there. I haven't been yet for tea, but I am so excited to go back. I feel the air shouldn't be filled with smokiness. It doesn't match the clean crisp tea house vibe. I might be wrong here. Each of the wall pieces and the dinnerware on display appear to be antiques. The service was friendly, professional and competent. The owner was there, both in the kitchen and with the patrons, making us all feel welcomed and valued.
