The homemade onion rings were AMAZING and the side salads with honey mustard were good and my mashed potatoes were delicious. The steaks were terrible and I didn't realize they would be boiled but my son liked his steak tips. My husband said the omelet was alright but he's had better. Overall we would all get different entrees because all the sides were fantastic. Honestly I could have gotten just a salad and onion rings and had a great meal! Our waiter was really sweet even with my kids asking him a million random questions.

Excellent food and service. Just traveling by and Yelped this place to get breakfast. I ordered french toast meal with ham. I mean the BEST French Toast! It was thick bread and so good. Great ham too. Husband had pancakes of course with ham too. The waiter was nice and said grandson could have a grilled Cheese with fries for breakfast. So nice to accommodate. When reading reviews, all good except they have a smokers area. First I've ever heard of this but you could smell it alittle. Really nice restrooms for a small place. Pies looked delish!

Double portion chicken fried steak with macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes and brown gravy

Decided to try granny Schaefer's last night got there about 8:00 they closed at 8:30 p.m. . Not a very big crowd but one thing I was extremely surprised to see they actually still have a smoking section. The wait staff at cashiers were overly friendly really enjoyed the atmosphere. Ordered the spaghetti with garlic bread in the salad was quite impressed the garlic bread wasn't like a brick and the spaghetti had plenty of meat sauce and the salad was actually a well-dressed salad. They're blue cheese chunky dressing was exactly that and from what I understand very delicious. Chicken fried steak they offer an option for a couple dollars double the meat and it was a large portion of the chicken fried steak covered in a white country gravy. It was enough to make your mouth water. The mac and cheese well restaurant mac and cheese but it did taste like cheese. Mashed potatoes for homemade mashed potatoes the gravy the brown gravy was a little salty. They have a micro brewery where they grind their own coffee beans and I must say the coffee was extremely good, just could have been a little hotter they bring you a whole coffee pot to your table. My only complaint and I understand it was later in the evening but their homemade dinner rolls were a little hard on the bottom where they had sent in a warmer too long but they actually give you real butter. They also have a very large selection of homemade pies got one to take home but haven't tried it yet but it is a huge slice of peanut butter chiffon pie.

They've got a very homey feeling to their place. Great home cooked meals, love the people, and the way they check in on you but don't hover.

Fried chicken dinner was fantastic! I was last here in the 1970s and was as good as I remembered. Old School delicious!

Slop service bad. Food taste like premade. The only good was the hot rolls. Will not be back and will tell everyone I know.

Service was good, with everything made to order. Went on a Sunday and the after church crowd filled the place. Great double burger that was well seasoned. Tots and onion rings were crispy and tasty. Yes, a little greasy but that's what makes it good.

Great place to get an old-fashioned burger that makes you feel like it's back in the 50s/60s…read more The staff was super friendly and answered our questions about what items came on the different food items and was helpful on adding some extras like grilled onion on the burger. We ate inside and it was the first time being in. The place you can tell is very old and the building is showing its age for the dining room with a massive amount of wear and tear. For an old-school drive-in, that is not a make or break for me as the building and most items are most likely original and it is what it is. Ordered a side of Suzi-Q's and they were hot and fresh but they just didn't have a lot of flavor. I regretted not getting the tater tots instead and would most likely just get a burger by itself in the future. It would be nice if they had some light seasoning compared to just salt or used seasoned fries as the base. The burger was where the home run was for me. I kept it simple and had pickles, ketchup, and grilled onion with cheese and the only thing I regretted was getting a single and not the double. It was piping hot and had come straight off the flattop. the cheese was melted and gooey. The burger was super juicy and like a classic old-fashioned burger, had some grease soaked into the bun which made the flavor just burst.

The Waiter was very warm, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We had draft beer in a chilled glass (not frosty, which I prefer). Appetizers: We got Arancini (see image) and they were slightly over toasted but delicious. Entrees: We chose Pappardelle Bolognese & Manicotti delivered with buttered focaccia bread slices (see image). Both were delicious! Pappardelle pasta was a tad overcooked, and the Manicotti was the Star of the two! The bread is warm sliced fresh focaccia and lightly brushed with butter and a sprinkle of Parmesan. Portions are generous, and we both took leftovers home and we asked for more to-go bread. Summary: Prices are good for the quality, portions and service! Our visit was $51 (before tip) with 4-beers, appetizers and 2-Entrees. So a couple will pay about that much with a comparable restaurant. Restrooms are small but clean. Albeit the men's toilet tank lid is missing(?). Recommended. Would have been a full 5-stars had arancini and pappardelle had not been slightly overcooked. But not enough to send it back. Enjoy!

Just okay. I've had them a few times now, in house and take out/delivery. Pasta dishes are so-so,…read moreand overpriced for the experience. Appetizers are usually good. Front row of house staff is usually friendly but kitchen is slow routinely. The pasta is usually over cooked for my taste. Sauces are hit and miss, with the bolognese being especially disappointing; too runny and acidic. Alfredo in the past has been too runny. Had the piccata once, the sauce was good, the chicken was just passable. I wife and daughter love the burrata app. Overall, I wouldn't recommend for entrees, but maybe their sandwiches give better value?

Draft Miller Light. I like my beer very very cold, preferably frosted. This was cold and pleasant but could be colder!
