We loved our delicious and generous breakfast, the friendly staff and diner atmosphere. We both got the special which included 2 eggs, 2 pancakes and a protein. He ate both the bacon and crispy corned beef hash. I loved my scrambled eggs and pancakes. They had salsa I could put on my eggs - yummy. The portions were large and every bite was heavenly. We just found this awesome little diner recently in Latonia Ky. They had a decent sized menu of both lunch as well as breakfast items. I went kind if in both directions as I got Grilled Bologna And Cheese Sandwich with onion rings from the lunch side. From the breakfast side I got an order of French Toast. The grilled bologna and cheese was stellar and everything I thought it would be with nice a nice thick piece of bologna that was cooked to perfection. The onion rings were above average and French Toast was delicious. No gimmicks to it just straight up, tasty French Toast. The restaurant was small but very clean and the service was excellent. With very reasonable prices there really wasn't anything more I could've asked for. There will be many more trips back here for sure. read more

Well darn. What happened to Granny's . This was my favorite local place to grab breakfast with my grandsons. They love the goetta. Went for breakfast Sunday morning and ordered the usual. My breakfast was good. I got the 2 egg meat and potatoes. Wife got the sr pancakes. Wife complained to the waitress that her pancakes were raw on the inside. The waitress apologized and ask if she wanted to have the cook make a new order. My wife said " no that's ok just take them off the bill ". Since me and my grandson was already done eating. The waitress said " ok, I'm so sorry". We have had this same waitress for years. She knows me and my grandsons. Knows our order and is super nice. We feel like Norm on Cheers. LOL Wife goes up to pay and some guy who was hanging out in the kitchen says to my wife. " These are not raw and I'm not taking them off the bill ". In a disrespectful, intimidating tone of voice. I heard him across the restaurant. He kept repeating it. It was quite the scene. I motioned for my wife to just come back to the table since it looked and sounded like things were getting out of control. The rude guy then looked at me and I just motioned to give me one minute, as I was finishing my coffee. He then walks toward our table in an intimidating way like he was going to bully me like he did with my wife. I had to just smile when he said "what" to me. I said " give me a moment, I will take care of it". He once again, with attitude said " I can't hear you". I then repeted myself. Poor guy was a mess worrying about this. At that time a customer or friend of his walked in and asked him " how's it going"? His answer was something to the effect " we will see" or something aggressive like that. He stood looking at me and just seemed hell or highwater he wasn't going to let go of that bill. And was bound and determind to MAKE US PAY. Lmao. Like we were going to walk out or something. HAHAHA. I just wonder how the other customers felt. I have never witnessed this behavior in any restaurant in my life. I don't know if he woke up on the wrong side of the bed or what was going on. I just know it had to be an embarrassment for everyone. I feel sorry for who had to see that. Looking back I just have to laugh at the aggressiveness and "hard core" attitude over raw pancakes. First and last time I'll eat there. Microwave food would be much better. Greasy/salty potato chips are not recommended. Service was slow. Off pitch singing by the staff was loud and annoying. My waitress kept going to the front door to vape and not washing her hands (sometimes vaped inside). Prices and quality are better at chains. Don't do it. Keep driving! read more

Granny's Latonia Diner is a quaint local spot with the charm of a mom and pop shop. I really enjoyed the diner vibe! The home fries were delicious! That was my favorite thing we tried. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the sissy biscuit that I ordered. The biscuits and gravy are lacking flavor and were cold when served to me. The service was good, no complaints with our server. Ambiance is your typical mom and pop restaurant. It has lost some of the charm that the restaurant had when the original owner was involved. The menu has much to be desired as does the food itself. The "chicken fried steak" is actually three chicken tenders smothered with white gravy. The gravy is nothing special and overall pretty bland. The burger was average, cheese was more burnt around the edges than actually melted. The pizza hoagie was disappointing. Very little pizza sauce, a few pickles, the bun appeared torn on top, and obviously a cheaper bun. Most if not all products are store grade and probably frozen. Which nowadays isn't entirely surprising or terrible but there is nothing going on to make the meals special. This restaurant used to be something my parents used to love to go to when they were younger and it was unfortunate to hear they will probably not return. But, if you want down home food served with love like you parents and grandparents used to make at home, I highly recommend this place. I had the biscuits and gravy, home fries and country ham. This place was only about half full, by the time we were leaving; but the fellow who took our order was also the cook, busboy, and cashier! The food wasn't much - we all ordered breakfast. My eggs were "over cooked and hard fried chopped up" versions of soft scrambled. Seems no one knows how to scramble an egg softly anymore. The outside looks like a dump. There not much in the way of atmosphere. Probably would not have gone in if not for the reviews. Both the front entrance and side have heavy doors and steps into the place. I love Granny's for a few reasons. First the food is always fresh and hot, regardless of the time of day. The service is always upbeat and friendly. The atmosphere is very cozy and laid back. It's like diners used to be, I'm a nostalgic kind of guy, so I love the diner. It is a great small town diner, where you can meet family or friends. Highly recommend. New to the area, our Sunday/Monday go to morning breakfast. It's smaller so there normally isn't seating for big crowds. Giant family walked in and got upset that they couldn't be loud and obnoxious in a small family diner. Come here for the most peaceful and pleasant morning you will have in this small town. read more
