My little Prius had to get a jump start for the first time in 7 years so I was of course panicked that I was going to have to buy a new battery! I drove straight over (didn't even call ahead of time) and they were packed. Ziad greeted me and asked me to pull around the back because it there was so many cars. He took everything out of my trunk and got to work, when I'd ask questions he'd dumb everything down for me thank God (all I know about cars is how to drive them), and while he was checking my battery I asked how much it would be. He said there was no charge and he was happy to check for free. He gave me the news that my battery was fine, better than fine actually. There was no sign of me needing to get a new battery anytime soon, and just like a doctor he prescribed that I drive it every other day....instead of once a week. whoops. anyway, Ziad was sooooooo kind and genuine. I'm a car guy. I know cars. This is the place you want to bring your car if you're having trouble in the westside. The owner is EXTREMELY honest and very kind. I had a small issue with my car which i couldnt diagnose at home, and since I dont have tools, I had to resort to finding a shop. I've tried a few other shops in the area over the years, but this one is my new go-to spot if there's an issue with my car which I can't solve myself. Anyway, I dropped by, ready to pay these guys some money just to get my car on the rack and get a problem diagnosed. They charged me nothing. They wouldnt even take my money. They found the problem, and told me to go on my merry way. The other highly rated shops in the area were a bit rude to me in the past, and would still charge me a little bit just to put the car on the lift. *** LIKES: Great service, experts, good pricing, and very honest. Saved me thousands! I would hug these guys if I could. My "emissions system" light came on while I was in Tahoe on a road trip and the mechanic I took it to over there quoted $4200 to have all 3 catalytic converters replaced. I called the dealership and several other places and I kept hearing that all 3 catalytic converters never go at once on this model vehicle and that I should take it elsewhere for diagnostics. So I shipped it to Grant Auto and they figured out that the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced - a $320 job! So happy I brought the car here. Z and Ali are absolutely amazing, friendly , beyond honest, extremely knowledgeable and welcoming!! ~ I hit a pothole, and immediately noticed a bad shudder when driving, I called in and they immediately jumped to accommodate me, not even after 5 minutes of inspections and a quick test drive , Ali concluded that I needed new tires, and wheel alignment.~ they do not sell tires, and didn't refer me to anyone either. So they had nothing to gain. Ali did not charge me for any of his time. I got new tires , and alignment done and the issue was completely fixed!! I have THE BEST mechanic in the land!!! Besides being over-the-top reliable, they are the most honest and affordable. I had my '99 Toyota 4runner that has 393K miles on it serviced with a new starter, water pump and timing belt, oil change, fluids topped off and overall health inspection before going to Yosemite with 2 other people and a heavy load of camping equipment and food in the car with me. My mechanic, Ali, assured me I was good to go and if anything goes wrong to call him immediately, but that he was confident all would be fine. We made it to our Campground just outside of Yosemite Nat'l Park, NO PROBLEM! But after 3 days, we pack up and get ready to go, my car started up and sounded awful and would barely go. We hiked a mile to the local lodge and called AAA for a tow and most fortunately found a VERY reputable and OPEN [on the 4th of July] auto repair shop 30 miles away. Diagnostic tests showed it was merely a defective timing belt, which of course was brand new. He reported that my mechanic has done a perfect job in his repair job. So I called my mechanic to report the news and he told the Groveland Auto Repair shop to fix it and he would take care of the repair costs. Shocker #1 Because this shop was already so busy and had to order the new part, it wasn't going to be fixed till next week. MY MECHANIC INSISTED ON GOING ALL THE WAY TO GROVELAND, 330 miles from Los Angeles, TO GET THE CAR AND TOW IT BACK AND FIX IT HIMSELF!!!! He did that yesterday... WHO DOES THAT?!?!! He has been my mechanic for a little over a year now and he will ALWAYS be my mechanic from now on. He should be yours as well!! read more

The shop was sweet to do complimentary work on my car last year, but he confirmed my belief in him and the shop this year as well after having gone through a nightmare with another body shop and dealing with unprofessional adjusters from Geico. Save yourself the nightmare that I went through and take your car to Grant Auto for mechanical work by Ziad and body work by Nagy from Radius Auto Body. Ziad did another complimentary work for me that wasn't even asked for. I've already been spreading the word about his shop but it will continue, man. Great guy, great shop. So I was driving my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee down to LA from the bay . Drove super smooth as it only had 66k miles . Soon as I get to a red light jn LA the car starts to misfire and jerk. I take it into grant. Ziad was the realist and honest mechanic I've ever met. I deal with cars a lot and know the fair prices . He hooked me up the way family would and didn't have to. We are from San Diego and ran into car trouble. We got our car diagnosed and found out that our alternator was the issue. We called multiple car repair shops in the area but many were closed or too far. Zaid graciously offered to help repair the alternator although it was close to closing time. If it wasn't for him, we would've been stuck in Santa Monica without a car until Monday (if we're lucky because Monday is a holiday). Prices were affordable and the car was finished at the time he said it would be. He is a true class act. Just returned home from my second visit to Grant Auto. I was blown away the first time (July 2018) with the communication and felt that the level of honesty and fairness with pricing was excellent. When you take your car in here, you definitely get the impression that the staff are looking to establish a relationship with a customer that will last, rather than just charging you and getting you in and out as quickly as possible. Previously, I had more significant work done, and I was out of town when the job was completed. Ali and his staff were so flexible with keeping the car on site until I returned. I had a broken driver side rear view mirror, smashed by a sanitation truck and with replacement parts in my hand went to Grant and they cleaned and reattached the electronic plate and adhered the new mirror in minutes. Wow, lots of great reviews, and I'm not going along with the crowd BECAUSE I am very public health safety conscious. I realize my interactions with these gentlemen was outdoors, but they are dealing with the public in a limited-sized area, and neither of them was wearing a mask. I'm pretty sure that they didn't have one on their neck, so I am guessing that they weren't wearing one indoors either. They asked me to go inside to wait in the waiting room while they installed my car battery, but I opted to stand outside on the sidewalk. There was another person there but I'm not sure if he was doing business with them or not. When it was time to pay, I asked if I could pay by phone and they said yes, so I called and gave my credit card info over the phone to avoid having to go inside. The gentleman, Riad (sp?) even asked me from a distance afterwards whether I received the receipt on my phone that he'd sent me ok. He was very pleasant. I give them one star for putting my battery in right away, and one for allowing me to pay by phone even though I was there in person, without making a big deal out of it. Thank you. read more
