We just had Grant Brothers work on tree removal at our house yesterday and we can't say enough good things about their work. They were easy to schedule, showed up promptly and completed all the agreed work and then some. They first removed a very large overgrown evergreen that was too close to the front house foundation and towered over the roof. They also removed a wild cherry tree in the back corner that was leaning over the neighbor's fence and our vegetable garden, and some additional trees and trimming. All of these jobs were done safely and efficiently, using excellent equipment (including a large manlift and chipper). We were impressed with their skill and their techniques, which resulted in no damage to any adjacent landscaping, buildings, sprinkler system or fencing. They also cleaned up all the tree residue and left us with a neat property. They are truly a very professional operation. The owners were actively involved in all the work, they and their crew were a pleasure to work with, they were extremely accommodating to our needs, and the pricing was very reasonable. Overall it was an excellent experience that significantly exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend their services and will use them again for our tree work needs. read more

Unlike other review forums, this one allows for open-ended commentary which allows for both negative and positive areas to aid homeowners in relatively large investments in tree maintenance and removal in the future. The Grant Brothers rate high on all of the areas in our need for removing three large Pines and trimming a large Oak tree. We had put off the removal of three large native Pines in the back yard that twenty years ago were healthy but in recent years turned into dead stalks on a trunk that required constant cleanup after storms. In addition, a beautiful native Oak tree needed to be trimmed so as not to crowd out the other additions we have made in recent years. The Grant Brothers took on this task in an affordable, capable manner and exceeded our expectations. I tend not to price compare and didn't feel I needed to anyway based on the guy's honesty and quote after extensively surveying the work to be done. The areas I can highlight are again, their honesty, competence, finishing the job in a timely manner, and the all important cleanup which was herculean based on the size of the trees. I look forward to hiring the Grant Brothers again and have no doubt as to their continued success. read more

The Grant Brothers were recommended to me by an arborist and I am totally delighted at the quality and detail of work they provided. They removed deadwood from a very large Mulberry tree in the yard. Much of it at the crown. They were fascinating to watch. They work "in the tree", climbing and really improved the overall canopy. Exactly what I needed! In the past years - I have used the large tree service companies who left large sections of deadwood, addressed only easy-to-reach areas, or branch diameters under 1.25 inches. The brothers were really nice, incredibly cordial. I got into contact with them and the young man who answered the phone was nothing short of helpful and respectful, addressing me as ma'am and answering any questions and concerns I had. I called them in regards to a tremendous tree in my backyard which they were able to remove in the span of a day. I have had Grant Brothers out two times now, the first to remove a single tree that was dying and more recently to take down two other giant trees, one of which had been partially split by lightening. Their crew is polite and professional. These brothers were so great! While they were doing fabulous work trimming a gigantic oak over our neighbor's roof, our son's kite got stuck up in a nearby tree. They pulled it down without even being asked (by an adult, anyway). Our neighbors newborn sleeps just below the oak that they so carefully trimmed -- did I mention both brothers are arborist born and bred in Vienna, Virgina? What more could you ask for?? read more

Wonderful representative, got a quote for removal of a large limb on a 40 year old oak tree, removal of a smaller limb, clean out all the shoots in midline of tree, haul away debris.
