My poor puppy died in the hands of paws and claws. I will not give up this fight against them for being negligent. They failed me and my family in so many ways . Please of you best to find another vet that will care for your animals .

Paws and Claws is a stellar example of a professional and compassionate veterinary clinic. I had to bring in my senior best friend yesterday and the Veterinarian provided me with all options available for treatment. She did not force any decisions and explained what each option could result in. Ultimately we had to put our Diesel pup down, the Vet and team showed nothing but compassion, professionalism and sincerity during our visit. I recommend Paws and Claws for all your pets needs and care. Thank you Paws and Claws.

Signage to inform that only one person is allowed in. They are complying with mandations, which is comforting!

During this whole COVID-19 Pandemic, I was fearful that my cat wouldn't get the help he needed when he hadn't urinated in a little over 24 hours. When I called and was told it was an emergency, I was told I could take him in even though it was 3am. Thank god they are still in operation during these times. I am so grateful to have a place like this in town that is open 24 hours! Our cat Midnight means so much to us. Turns out he had a blockage, which unfortunately he has had 4 times now. This time however was different. The blockage was bad enough that he wasn't able to even let a little bit of urine out, and I've never seen him in such a bad state before. With blockages, every minute counts! When I brought him in, all of the employees took it serious and checked his vitals right away. He needed some anesthesia and a catheter put in place in order to flush out the blockage. I just brought him home and he seems so happy to be home and full of life so far. Thank goodness for Dr. Whitehead and all of her staff! I also appreciate the fact that they take the current virus situation seriously. Only one person was allowed inside to bring in the pet, and after that most of our conversations happened outside over 6 feet apart with masks, even though it was raining. This is a sign to me that the doctor and staff take health and medicine seriously, which some might be annoyed by, but for me it was comforting and showed me that he was in great care. Going to follow up on Tuesday, and I'm glad that although we've already paid a lot, the follow-up is not going to break the bank. This review is longer than I had planned, but I just want to say, Thanks again so much for all that you all do,(even during these times) If your Pets need care during this time don't hesitate to take them here. From what I've seen, they are in great hands!

The compassion of the Vet and RVN cannot be beat. I am amazed and humbled that such kind professionals took care of G'dog even with all the volume of pets involved. I am very grateful for the clinic and their staff for their service and helping people like me afford such important care. G'dog is a recently adopted rescue dog with no recent, if any, dental care. Luckily, only two teeth extractions were needed. One of the meds for the teeth extraction is liquid and needs to be refrigerated, but I got a cup of ice from a fast food place for the long drive home. For me, it was worth taking the time off and exploring the area, even with the extra driving time. I was at the Pet Advocates office door around 7:45am and I was heading home by 3:30PM. I will be coming back to Pet Advocates for as long as I can. Many thanks to the vet and staff who patiently took care of G'dog. He is already doing better without the previous pain in his mouth.

The Pet Advocate offers significantly lower prices compared to Bay Area vet clinics, which sold me. Even their highest price for an extraction is only $40 (pre-molars and molars). After submitting my pet's information online, I was contacted shortly after with availability a month out and paid my $50 deposit. The instructions say drop-off is at 8am so I got there at 7:45am. To my surprise, there were already a ton of people there waiting for their pets' spay/neuter and dental cleaning appointments. By the time I was checked in and allowed to bring my dog inside, it was closer to 9am. Having come from a boutique-like vet in D.C., I was put off once I got inside. The waiting room was so busy, and there were so many cats inside from Animal Service, pet owners, and rescues. It just felt too crowded. Once we got to the back for the examination, it felt even more crowded and very factory-like. However, the vet was attentive, addressed all my concerns, and the vet techs were very friendly and gentle with my sweet pup. Before leaving you do have to pay first. Please note it is about a 3% additional fee for debit and credit cards, so I recommend bringing cash! Initially, I thought all my dog would need is dental cleaning. However, a few hours later I received a call from his vet technician who explained the x-rays showed serious bone less in one of his pre-molars and a molar. She explained to me the additional amount owed for the medication and extractions so I could be prepared. When I went to pick my dog up at 3pm, there was yet another long line and it took another 30-40minutes for most of us to be called in. The vet tech took the time to sit with me and explain all the limitations, how the procedure went, showed me the x-rays, and advised me on post-care. It helped put me at ease. For the price, it was worth coming here. The only cons were the check-in and checkout system, the number of animals there at one time, and how crowded the examination area was. Aside from dental cleaning and vaccinations, I probably would not come here for anything else. In addition to the driving time, factor in about another hour for check-in AND check out. A week post-op and my dog's extraction sites are healing very well so I'm still satisfied with the service!

Gui Gui had been limping since last Wednesday, and Dr. Haburjak's team was able to quickly find an appointment for us that Monday. During the visit, Dr. Haburjak performed a very thorough physical examination and determined that he did not believe Gui Gui's knee was the source of the problem. He carefully identified the hock as a possible source and immediately referred us to a specialist. What touched me most was how much Dr. Haburjak personally did to make sure Gui Gui received the care he needed as quickly as possible. He immediately called and texted the specialist to help get Gui Gui seen as soon as possible. He also sent us a detailed and thoughtful email explaining his concerns and introduced us directly to the specialist. He went above and beyond to make sure there was a smooth transition of care. It turned out that Gui Gui had a serious infection in his hock--septic arthritis. I truly believe Dr. Haburjak's careful examination, clinical judgment, quick action, and genuine concern for Gui Gui made all the difference. His prompt identification of the problem and immediate referral helped Gui Gui receive the urgent treatment he needed. In my heart, I truly believe he saved Gui Gui's life. I feel incredibly lucky to have such an amazing surgeon and such a wonderful team in the area where I live. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing that Gui Gui is in the hands of people who genuinely care about their patients. I cannot thank Dr. Haburjak and his entire team enough for everything they did for Gui Gui. I truly appreciate their kindness, professionalism, compassion, and dedication. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I would like to preface by saying that I don't like leaving poor reviews for companies…read more First, I'd like to start by saying the welcoming staff IN PERSON here was great. Very friendly and thoughtful. My complaints are not directly to anyone, but mostly being misled by what this hospital can do and when it can be done. I scheduled a consultation with internal medicine for August 4th. At the time of scheduling, I let them know that I was referred to them for a rhinoscopy and CT for my dog. They told me over the phone they sometimes can do the procedure the same day but it's uncommon. I understood that but still scheduled, hopeful that they could still do a rhinoscopy in the near future as it was something my primary vet urged me to do soon. They had me pay the consultation fee on same day to confirm my appointment, which I didn't question at the time. Keep in mind, they knew I needed a rhinoscopy with internal medicine specifically at the time I made this call. At the time of our appointment, we met with Dr. Louis who was very knowledgeable and kind. When I asked him about scheduling the rhinoscopy, he said they do not have the equipment needed for that procedure at this hospital (IronHorse) and he is only in the hospital that has the equipment (OakVet) ONCE A MONTH. Adding to that, he was out of town in August so we were looking at September. When I asked the nurse about September, she said there was a line so it's possible we couldn't get in. At this time, I was feeling very frustrated because I felt so misled that they knew the procedure couldn't be done anytime soon but still took my money for the consultation fee and led me to believe this hospital could perform the procedure. If I knew OakVet was the one that had the equipment, I would've just scheduled there. But this information was never offered to me over the phone at the time of scheduling the initial consult. I was told the estimate for the future procedure would be sent to me by the end of the week (this was Tuesday 8/4) and didn't receive anything by Friday. I called on Friday and they said end of day, and I did not receive anything end of day. I called again on Monday and they said they are backed up, I should have it soon. It's now 8/16 and I have not received a call or email with my estimate. Overall, the communication and professionalism of some staff at this hospital is not something I'd subject myself to again. I think once they finish the merge with OakVet, it could function better but if you're looking to get a rhinoscopy and CT, I would look elsewhere. We were able to go to Sage Dublin that same week and have the procedure done. All other vets in the area that I called were very transparent about how booked they were and if they have the equipment to perform the procedure I asked about.

Disappointing Experience & Questionable Practices…read more We brought our 11-week-old Pomsky puppy to Tracy Veterinary Medical Center after she injured her leg. We were hoping for compassionate care at a fair price -- but our experience was far from that. 1 Repeated Charges Without Clear Medical Benefit Our puppy was diagnosed with a hairline fracture and placed in a splint. We were told to come back weekly for rechecks. Each visit became the same pattern: * Remove splint * Quick exam * New splint applied * Recommend more X-rays Every visit = more charges. ~$125 each time just for the new splint, plus X-rays. It added up fast, with little explanation of why repeat X-rays were needed for a minor fracture. They also pushed additional pain meds even after we explained she was not acting like she was in pain. The upselling felt constant and unnecessary. 2 Concerning and Conflicting Communication A doctor (who was not the first one who treated her) suddenly told us they originally questioned whether her leg could be saved and even considered amputation. This was never mentioned at the first visit -- where they simply took an X-ray and applied a splint. Hearing a more dramatic story later from someone who wasn't there felt misleading and unprofessional. We left more confused than when we arrived. Wait times were also long. We routinely waited 30+ minutes past our appointment time, and splint changes often took hours if we left her there. 3 Poor Quality of Care One visit, they admitted the X-rays taken were at the wrong angle and had to be redone. We weren't charged twice, but presenting their mistake as a "favor" did not inspire confidence. 4 No Accountability or Compassion The final straw: the last splint fell off within 3 hours of being placed. We called immediately -- their response: * We would have to pay again for a replacement splint * They had no time to help us that day We explained we were leaving town the next morning and needed help urgently. No flexibility, no empathy. When we returned Monday to speak in person, we were met with: * No apology * No "I'm sorry you're dealing with this" * No concern for how our puppy was doing * No follow-up guidance on alternatives or better care We completely understand that dogs can chew off splints. But compassion shouldn't come off with it. 5 Overall Impression After multiple visits, inconsistent messaging, constant charges, and zero empathy, we lost all trust in this clinic. We know vet care can be expensive -- but respect, honesty, and customer care are not optional when someone is concerned for their pet. Bottom Line: We cannot recommend Tracy Veterinary Medical Center. Our puppy deserved better -- and so did we. We noticed many positive reviews for this clinic, and if others are getting the service they expect, that's wonderful for them. But our experience did not match those reviews or our expectations. Based on what we went through, we strongly recommend staying clear of this place. Take your pet elsewhere. 100% not recommended.

From the moment we scheduled the appointment, Jules' team was kind, sincere, and incredibly accommodating. When we arrived, someone quickly guided us into a private room, giving us the space and privacy to say our final goodbyes. You could feel the empathy in the room -- the staff genuinely understood how painful this moment was for us. Epic wasn't just a pet; she was part of our family. We spent nearly an hour holding her, reminiscing, and even helping our almost 5-year-old daughter begin to understand the cycle of life and death. The vet was gentle, detailed, and respectful, explaining the process with so much care that it helped ease some of our grief. They gave us the option to keep a piece of Epic with us -- clipping a bit of her fur and offering a keepsake paw print, which arrived a few days later for pick up. If only there was a zero star rating…read more In a nutshell, the overall ratings of this location as 2 stars says it all. But here's our story: We took our cat to them for serious issues. Their temp doctor said tests needed to be done, but we should take him to VEG in San Ramon. So we did. VEG took care of him. Then I looked at the paperwork from Banfield before sending it to our insurance. The date of birth was made up because we were never asked. Then a bunch of items were marked as "client declined", which never happened. It's been 3 weeks we've been trying and each time we were told they don't have a way to get a hold of the doctor and he's the only one that can change things. When asked for the manager, we were told she was out sick. Each time it was, "she should be back in a couple of days". After getting tired of this, I called the corporate office. Got a run around and then transferred to a "care team member". I was told that someone should get back to me within 3-5 business days. 6 business days later, yesterday I went there and the receptionist said she was out sick. When I said I wasn't leaving without speaking with someone, she appeared out of the back office. Needless to say, she wasn't helpful, but was rude and said she was going to call the cops. And gave me a number to the corporate office (wrong number). I said she should and I called their corporate office at the correct number I had. The person told me she would escalate the complaint and I should hear back before the end of the day. Didn't happen. I called again right now and got the same 3-5 days story. Apparently the so called "care team" is a buffer to keep customers from voicing their concerns to the stakeholders. I asked the "care team member" what happens if I don't get a call back? She said without hesitation that I'd have to wait another 3 days and call again. If you don't think this is ridiculous, I don't know what is. When you read the above, a lot of questions about discrepancies will arise. The question to each discrepancy is "Why?" Why the refusal to correct? Why the lies? Why no return calls? Why they said they don't have the number to call the doctor they call all the time? Why? Why? Why? Finally, what is it they are trying to hide or avoid? If you care about your pet's health, avoid this place and any Banfield hospital.

One of the members there who took my cat to the back let us stay there for as long as I needed and didn't judge me for crying loudly. My mother paid $600 in total for my beloved cat to be cremated and to have a clay print of her paws which in my opinion is a great price. About a week(ish) later we got to pick up her ashes and the clay print we were promised and I believe the team went above and beyond. I received a card with the team's signatures and a certificate of cremation.

What a disappointing experience. My husband took our dog in for surgery, and what should have been…read morea straightforward visit turned into an extremely unprofessional encounter. Following a minor miscommunication regarding pricing from other staff members, an older employee became confrontational and began calling my husband names being racist to him!!. She even went as far as making inappropriate comments about our family and children. Regardless of any misunderstanding, there is never an excuse for staff to speak to clients in such a disrespectful and unprofessional manner. Instead of addressing the situation professionally and taking accountability for the confusion, the behavior we experienced was unacceptable. We entrusted this facility with the care of our pet and expected to be treated with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this clinic to others who expect professionalism, respectful communication, and accountability from veterinary staff.

Barkley got razor rash once & had a problem after his anal glads expressed long ago at Pampered Pet which resulted in vet visit both times, but other than those two episodes, I was satisfied and just wrote those two problems off as flukes until....I took my teacup Maltese there last September (2025). His first couple appointments were fine, but the last, he looked terrible, like a different dog. People who saw him afterwards thought it WAS a different dog, an old dog, not my cute little 9 month old Maltese. When I brought him in, I told Michelle I didn't want his face touched much at all, to leave his "mustache" and wanted his ear hair trimmed shorter, like a puppy. Well, they did the exact opposite; they left the ears long and SHAVED his face. He wasn't matted or anything. I paid the bill, including a $20 tip BEFORE they brought him out to me. I was in shock when they handed him to me. I left and on the drive home, I couldn't even look at him. But the more I did, the madder I got. When I got home, I immediately called Michelle and said, "you know I'm not one to complain and never have, but I was furious on the grooming job. That they did the exact opposite of what I asked and that he looked terrible." She said I could bring him back in and they'd trim his ears shorter, like I had asked, but the damage was done. I knew they couldn't glue his cute mustache and whiskers back on. All I saw when I looked at him was a dog that didn't look a thing like my cute 9 month old puppy that I had brought in. I told her I was too mad to bring him back in and I was just furious. She just said oh, okay. No offer of any compensation or anything. I had been a customer for over a decade. His fur, of course, has since grown back and he looks cute again. He is now a year and 5 months old and I take him to Muddy Paws on 10th Street now, where we have been extremely pleased AND they are a little less expensive and we've had much, much better experience every single time and much better cut than he ever had at Pampered Pet. Sorry, but it's the truth. I won't go back there. I don't know if there was miscommunication between Michelle and the groomer or what because I did tell Michelle the cut I wanted: face left alone, only cleaned up a little, leave his mustache/whiskers and trim the ears much shorter and the exact opposite was done. He was the first appointment of the day, maybe she was still half asleep, I don't know.
