After issues involving a 20% off coupon (the tech stated my daughter had to have a manicure and pedicure to get the full discount), I spoke to owner and thought the issue was resolved. 2 days later, my minor daughter's card was charged for $5 more than the amount she had signed for (luckily she knew to take a photo of her signed receipt.) One customer; 2 different situations of deceptive business practices/theft. If you do choose to have your nails done here, check your receipts versus what is posted with your bank. Note: they did refund the discrepancy once confronted in person, and I was told "the techs tried to make it better for their UNDERCHARGING of your daughter, but they did it wrong." Walked in to get a mani pedi since Milano's Nails was busy. Initially felt badly for Grant nails because they had 3 tech's waiting for business and no one else came in. Should have been my clue. Water was cold. I asked three times to make the faucet water warm. It was cold. She kept saying it would warm up. It finally barely warmed, but I didn't soak my feet in it because she wanted my feet dry. Tech barely scrubbed my feet (mind you I had two compression fractures this summer and needed them to help me with soften my heals) and also asked that twice. Tech just did her routine. What made all of this worse is she passed gas twice. I had to hold my breath. Spoke in Vietnamese to her co worker and laughed. Probably blaming it on me. Who knows. Stopped by here instead of my usual pedicure place because it is right next to the grocery store I prefer and I had heard from others in the neighborhood that they liked it. There was also a big banner advertising 20% off as a grand opening special. It was okay, I especially enjoyed the new massage chairs, free wi-fi, and the peaceful atmosphere. However, the pedicure was hurried and lackluster, especially after I kept refusing the upgrades they kept pushing (no means no). My polish looks streaky and like it could use one more coat. When I checked out I was charged the price on their printed price list and told that was the special price, which makes no sense to me....usually the printed price is the regular price and the special comes off the top of that....right? Just had the world's fastest pedicure. I'm not kidding! I cannot say this was a relaxing experience which is why I like pedicures. The results were ok. The boss kept telling the tech to fix the jets on the tub and they kept breaking. I told her not to worry but the boss insisted. This place is dark and dingy. The tech couldn't find her supplies easily. They used liners on the tub were purposefully torn so they fit which kind of defeated the purpose in my opinion. This was my second visit to this salon. My first experience was about the same. I wanted to give it another try though. Honestly, I only stopped here since it's next door to the grocery store. I went in to get my nails done. It was my second time at the place and last time I had a positive review. I walked in and asked for acrylics, instead the lady who did my nails gave me dip. I decided not to complain and I went along with it. After that I noticed that my nails were very bumpy and kind of crooked for coffin nails. I was just like ohh it's still not done she'll fix em but then another lady came to help her fix then, they were improved but it was still very crooked. After that they started to do the butterfly. I told her the story about my crappy nail job from another place and she looked at my nails and told me that they had a girl there that did dip powder very well. I decided to give them a shot despite all the negative reviews on here, and I'm so glad I did! They put me with Amy and she gave me a gorgeous, near flawless dip powder manicure. She soaked the old off, repaired 2 broken nails with tips, and did the manicure for $40. It still looks really good 2 weeks later. I would not hesitate to go back and see Amy. Bought a Groupon for this place to try it out and they did a pretty good job with my mani and pedi. The bad part was that my fiancé was with me, he went to tip the girl before I was finished, and the ladies at the cash register lied and said we had not already paid online (which I had and he wasn't aware of) they ended up charging him 60 extra dollars that wasn't even owed in the first place. I picked this salon because of location and reviews. The owners tween son checked me in and got me seated right away for my basic mani and pedi ($38). The salon is small and messy. Another son sat in the front complaining about lunch time. The infection control here is super scary. My technician answered her cellphone mid-pedicure. She nicked 5 different fingers on my hands that I know of so it stung like a mother when she had to fix her mistakes with acetone. I'm positive she had your typical Vietnamese bought nail license. I don't appreciate signing my credit card receipt mid-manicure either. I'm particular about my salons and won't be returning to this unprofessional and sloppy one. Customer service is a joke here. I love this place. I get my nails done and pedicure regularly here. I used to go to the nail place in Spring Cypress closer to Telge and when the owners changed the new owner was extremely rude. I get the $35 pedicure and it include a mask, scrub, wax, and hot stone massage. Today while having my nails done they did my pedicure at the same time. (They have done this every time and it saves me a good hour of time, if not more.). The pedicure actually lasted longer than a full set of acyrlic nails. It was awesome. They are always very polite and pleasant. My nails always last at least two weeks and I've never had one fall off before then. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because my last pedicure I had the polish chipped within 2 days. On more than one toe. I was wearing flip flops too so I'm not sure why. They have a huge selection of shellac colors and powder colors. They also offer eyebrow tinting, but the one time I had that done it really didn't seem to last or be worth the cost. (Second reason for only fours stars.) I have never had to wait either. Even on weekends. They are appropriately staffed.
