First and foremost...food was phenomenal. Cleveland House is an out of the way place with a…read morecomfortable atmosphere and a definite hangout for the locals but well worth the drive. We were greeted by Melissa, a co-owner of the establishment. Ambience was cozy, warm with nice pictures and setting on the wall and a good assortment of rock music ranging from Led Zeppelin to Fleetwood Mac. We ordered two appetizers of the steak fritters (highly recommend) and stuffed tots with bacon and cheddar (again, highly recommend). Both appetizers were incredibly delicious and would absolutely order again. Our main course consisted of a jam covered Gouda burger cooked perfectly with a side of lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles (pickles were VERY good!) and a side of FRESH CUT fries cooked perfectly! The charred bun was a nice touch. The food was a 10/10 as I can't review anything negative about it at all. Melissa did an amazing job balancing her servicing the tables as it was very busy, and made sure to constantly check in on us from time to time to make sure our water glasses were filled and if we needed anything. I give her and her staff a 10/10 for service. The ambience was great overall and was very comfortable. Music playing in the background was very romantic and settling. A great experience for a low key date spot. The owner Melissa said they offer bands sometimes on the weekends, typically a Saturday night. Melissa, if you and your husband happen to read this...keep doing what you're doing! Your food is VERY GOOD, some of the better burgers I've had in this area and your ingredients are outstanding. Was definitely happy to have had the opportunity to experience Cleveland House and we will definitely be back for more! Keep up the great work of

Who doesn't want to go to a joint that says food, slots and drinks in the very front of it? It just screams fun. My daughter and I headed inside. We were stopped by a security guard. He carded us since it's an 18 and up only. The security was really nice! We got carded and made our way in. All the slots were bright and calling my name. They all looked so fun but we were here for food so we headed to the restaurant. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. As beautiful as the weather is, of course we had to sit outside. The setting couldn't be more perfect. The sun was starting to set so the sky was shades of pink and blue. The clouds sprinkled the sky and the water was still. It couldn't have been more perfect view for us. Anna came and greeted us. She has the prettiest smile. She asked us what we'd like to drink. We got our sodas ordered and since I had already looked at the menu, we asked if we can go ahead and order food as well. My daughter and I both got a bowl of clam chowder and some calamari to share. Our clam chowder came out first. It was beautifully topped with bacon and green onion. The chowder was hot! I added the oyster crackers in it so they can sog up. Soggy oyster crackers are so good! The clam chowder was fantastic! It had chunky pieces of celery, potatoes and clams. It was hearty and thick. I ordered a bowl and the bowl was on the smaller side but it was actually the perfect amount. The calamari was some of the best I have ever had! The calamari was so tender. It wasn't chewy or rubbery. They were perfectly breaded and fried. The breading wasn't thick, it was light and crunchy. There was also fried pieces of banana peppers. They were so good! You dip it all in the aioli, chef's kiss. You get a generous amount of calamari. We couldn't finish it so we boxed the rest of those babies for later. The whole experience at the Lake House was phenomenal. From the setting to the service, it was all fantastic. This joint is the perfect setting for a date night. I enjoyed every minute sharing a meal with my daughter here. I'm happy my curiosity brought me to this joint. It's definitely one of my top 3 core memories from this trip. I look forward coming back, enjoying another meal and sunset here.

Extremely attentive and funny, and answered any and all questions we had. She checked in just the right amount. The soup/wrap (or sandwich) special was a great deal! Really enjoyed the 1/2 casino, 1/2 beach vibe. Even while the outside world looked dead (hey - it's end of winter in Sylvan Beach after all) it was all good vibes inside! The old love to go back.

Unfortunately, the drinks were extremely over-priced. After paying $9 per drink for a captain coke and a vodka soda, (most expensive drinks we found all the way from Cleveland to Lake Placid) we hit the c-store and sat at the hotel instead. Steer clear unless you like to overpay.

I had always been scared to go to the Happen Inn, as it's in the basement and one can't see much of it from the street. There aren't a lot of options in Little Falls, so we decided to take a chance and are thrilled that we did. The staff was really friendly and the other people in the bar didn't stare at us (like some local people do). There's a pool table and lots of tv's. It's light enough to not be sketchy, but not too bright. There was also jukebox music playing, but it wasn't so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves talk. They have lots of beer options and cheap prices. The food was also delicious (if cooked on a visible, greasy stove) and inexpensive. We had a steak quesadilla that easily weighed five pounds, full of cheese, steak, fresh mushrooms and griled onions, and a thick burger, topped with onion petals, cheese and sauce. They have daily specials and an interesting bar top. If you have to be in Little Falls, this is the place to go.
