I was in town for work and staying nearby in Liverpool. My brother and his family live in Rochester, so they joined me so we could go out and spend time together. They chose the spot, and I'm glad they did! It was Thursday night, opening night of March Madness- and they also had a euchre tournament going on too...at least I think it was euchre? Parking was tough because it was so busy. We were able to get a table for dinner, and Bailey Z was our server. She was great! Friendly, helpful and professional. Never needed to ask for anything because she had it covered. I had a big lunch, and my nephew and brother also had a late lunch so I tried to go "light". Haha Started with a Bloody Mary with no garnishes, asked for some spice and it delivered! They were running a specials menu, so I started with the Reuben egg rolls. Super crunchy, had great flavor, and it had to have been a homemade 1000 island dressing. It was heavenly. My brother went with the Turkey Cobb salad, it was giant, bountiful, and looked really robust. My nephew ordered 20 wings to share with everyone. Half garlic parm, half sweet chili. Blue cheese also seemed to be homemade, I automatically ask for extra and it was worth it. I ordered the French onion soup, and the bacon cheeseburger dip which came with tricolored tortilla chips, seasoned and a perfect vehicle for the dip. Everyone was happy with the food. Too happy, we had leftovers and I have to say that the Reuben rolls and wings were still good as leftovers. It's a good thing I don't live in Syracuse because I'd have been there every weekend. Great food, great atmosphere but..... yesterday the bartender with a patterned headband was very rude and condescending! She walked by us several times and ignored us! Yes, it was busy but she never acknowledged us when she walked by us standing at the bar. Never "I'll be right with you" nothing!!! It wasn't until one of us waved a hand did she acknowledge us! She leaned in where she was standing and in very snotty loud voice said to us " I see you you, it's busy in here, I'll get to you as soon as I can" Wow!!! It's always once a week that I go but every time I go, the food is insanely good my favorite thing I always order is the chicken wing dip for the appetizer. On Monday night, special very crowded place is bigger than I thought. I only been there one time and it was years ago. Can get a little interesting if you're sitting in the bar area but the service was good considering the girl was very busy. We were a party 7 so we all ordered lots of chicken wings all different says. We added fried pickles. Blue cheese does not come with it so we added 4 orders of at a dollar each n pitchers of soda. Never had a bad experience here. It is one of my favorite spots to frequent. Some of the food is typical bar food but they also have some creative items on the menu. I especially love coming for half price wings on Mondays, it is such a deal and they make really good wings and have some unique sauces. The restaurant is clean and large and can accommodate a lot of people with a wrap around bar. They are always welcoming and attentive with the service. Home Team is my GoTo for Saturday game day. Ordered Chicken Wing dip Large Pizza and Boneless wings. Absolutely incredible food. Those boneless wings are the biggest I've ever eaten... Bravo Home Team. If you get a chance ask for Liz to be your server. You'll thank me. Liz is the hardest working restaurateur in the business. When in upstate NY visiting our nephews we ALWAYS find the time to stop by HTP for a bite to eat. The food in my opinion is not your typical pub/bar cuisine. Sure there are lots of options typically found in a pub- wings, burgers, chicken, pizza and such- but the entrees are plenty and the food is really good! Apps like fried pickels are certainly a go to for us and the wings are THE BEST around. We usually opt for the extra crisp salt and pepper wings! Meaty and delicious! I have partaken of the Riggies - an upstate NY favorite spicy pasta and chicken dish, the burgers are great and so is the pizza! One of my faves is their pot roast dinner- the pot roast is tender and delicious!! Salads are great too! It's a big place and lots of groups like to gather for sports games and such, but it also has a family vibe as well. It can get loud on occasion but that's part of the thrill of being in a huge sports pub. Plus- the bartenders are awesome- especially Randi! She is the absolute best! THE BEST!! read more

Last night the Phins were eliminated, as I had figured would happen. But the snacks and atmosphere where we watched the game were great! Home Team Pub! We arrived there around 7pm, and the bar was almost full. We snagged the last two seats. By game time the tables were pretty much full too. Our snacks for the game included three items. Onion rings, wings, and a small salt potato pizza. The onion rings were fresh and crisp. A side of bistro sauce kicked em up a notch. Nice tang and flavor. The wings were cooked perfectly. Moist, ( she hates when I use that adjective ), yet crispy exterior. Plenty of general tso's sauce too! Good sized as well. The pizza on the other hand was meh. You know I'm a pizza snob lol. I asked our server if it was fresh dough made in house. She assured me it was. I question that. It did not have a crunch or char from a dedicated pizza oven. It consisted of potatoes, bacon, mozzarella, green onions, cheddar and jack cheese, and a base of butter garlic sauce. I did not see or taste any green onions. The flavors were good, but the crust is no comparison to other Liverpool pizza's like Avicollis, Amore, Il Limone, or Francesca's. The place was lively, and we had nice conversations with other patrons. A surprising number of Phin fans too! Our bartender/server was friendly and attentive. Quick "Loss" is available. Owner Joe rolls out the red carpet for community events like The Liverpool Turkey Trot and I look forward to each of these along with our meetings because I love Home Team Pub's food and service! The Home Team Pub hosted a Beer Launch on November 11, Veterans Day. Benefits coincidentally go towards one of our favorite organizations: Clear Path for Veterans. The pizza was outstanding! Cooked perfectly a slice was all I had that night due to our busy schedule of events. The pizza here normally takes a backseat to great wings and other local specials but tonight it was awesome! The service on a crazy busy night was incredible! Friendly servers and bartenders are the norm! Tonight they served everything with a smile and careful attention! Went to Home Team Pub yesterday for a DIY event. This was the 1st time I was ever there. It is a large place with a lot of charm. I noticed a nice outside deck area that I would love to check out once the weather is nice. Being we were there to do a craft, we wanted simple picky food. We order Nachos and fried pickles. First look at the fried pickles and I was a little unsure. Not all fried pickles are created equal. These looked to have thick heavy breading. But once I tried them I realized that looks are deceiving. While yes the breading is thicker than other places it was very well seasoned and really crispy. The dipping sauce had a nice kick to it. The Nachos were delicious. They had chili instead of ground beef and cheese sauce. These were some of the best nachos I ever had. Tons of flavor and they didn't get gross as they sat. The menu at home team pub is huge and based on this 1st experience I will definitely go back to try more. read more

I really like the poutine, good cheese and yummy gravy. I thought the salad dressing on the southwest salad would have had a little more kick but it was still good. This is a great place to watch a game, have a quick bite, or drink a couple beers! They have a nice selection on tap, and full bar. What I like about this restaurant is that there is plenty of seating so you rarely have to wonder if you will have to wait to be seated, or if they can accommodate a large group! The place is also family friendly, and they even has a kids' menu. I like to write a review after visiting a restaurant a few times to get an accurate opinion. The HTP sauce is yummy, the bacon was disgusting. The fries were very very yummy! The shake was amazing, but overpriced for the size you get. The red bull was $4 for the smallest size, definitely not worth the price for that. We don't recommend this place for burgers. If you want fries and a milkshake, then yes! HTP has their ups and downs, but we could never give it up. We've been here and the food has been amazing, and other times it's been subpar. We usually do the Salt Potato Pizza, which is AMAZING. We typically do extra crispy wings, which can be hit or miss. What really draws us here is the staff, especially Liz. She's our favorite waitress and we always ask for her. She's friendly and welcoming and goes out of her way to care for us like no one else has at other places as well as here! She's seriously the best! The bar itself can get busy and rowdy, especially during game days, but it's a nice homely feeling. The worse Reuben sandwich I have ever had. Corned beef was like leather. Sandwich dry, couldn't find the sauerkraut or cheese. All for the cost of $14. Ordered the loaded salt potatoes as the side. Microwaved and the speck of cheese was in the bottom of the soup cup for $8.00 (3 salt potatoes). Very disappointed in the high cost and very poor quality of food. The waitress was great.
