Coffee is extremely burnt and has bad aftertaste. If you ask for sugar in your coffee they charge you for it. Girl at register told the other employee to use liquid sugar instead of real sugar so that she could charge us. Very odd. Coffee tastes gross. read more

A coffee shop has a very nice decor and design is welcoming. I wish they didn't use a good chunk of the indoor space to advertise some useless souvenirs, but their location probably dictates that. A kids playground and soft music outside was a nice touch. With all that in mind, the heart of the coffee shop is always coffee, staff and food. This is where they lack. Out of three staff working that day, only one knew what they sell and how to make coffee that is not right off the menu. The other two were clueless not only on how to do anything other than adding beans to the machine, but also on what they sell as far as pastries go. They had something that resembled brownie, but with cream in it and when I asked, the barista mumbled something incoherent about it being similar to Oreo. It wasn't... Selection of pastries was also rather sad, but they did have a number of very good looking (and probably tasty) sorbets. Coffee itself was OK, but nothing to write home about. All in all, this place could have been much more than what it is, but considering lack of competition and very inviting decor, they probably don't have to invest in anything additional. read more

This place is so amazing that we stopped in twice in one day! On our first visit, my husband and I shared a coconut Gelato and grapefruit sorbet. It was by far the best Gelato I've had outside of Italy! We went back at night with my parents and we all had espresso drinks. They also had cappuccino and chocolate Gelato and I tried the wine smoothie upon Shari's suggestion. It was a glass of wine blended with strawberries. Pure perfection. The shop had plenty of fun gifts and wine for sale. We had a blast looking at all the funny socks and tees they had for sale. We'll definitely be going back and asking for Shari by name. read more

This is probably one of my favorite coffee shops i've ever been to!! I found out about this place while planning my summer vacation to go see Mount Rushmore. We went here one morning before visiting mt. rushmore, & i was blown away!! Some of the best coffee i've ever had, & incredibly nice staff. I had a conversation with what I believe was the owner, & i now have one of the best stories to tell. Definitely make sure to stop at this place if you're in the area. Not very good service at all-didn't seem happy to be at work or deal with customers. Good coffee would have been enough to make up for that. That unfortunately did not happen either. Driving through Keystone after Mount Rushmore and it was pouring rain and I saw this place on the side of the road. They had a giant chess set on the lawn and I was craving coffee so I decided to try it. I got a hot chai cause it was cold and rainy outside and it was SO GOOD. I hadn't had a really good chai in a very long time. I also got an everything bagel with cream cheese toasted and it was perfect. They have a small gift shop with cool quirky gifts and a good menu and they sell wine and beer too! I just really liked everything about this place. Absolutely loved this place ! A daily staple stop in our trip to South Dakota. Clean, great outdoor seating! Fresh coffee , great gifts and best Gelato ! The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful when we asked them about area attractions. Everyday when we walked through the door, more then one time a day, we were always greeted with a smile. Sat on the deck with fresh coffee. Routed out our day while the boys played. We stopped in because the presidential wax museum next door gave us coupons. The gelato is awesome! We tried the raspberry, strawberry, cappuccino and grapefruit. Very delicious! I also got an iced coffee and it was very strong for my taste. I had to put a ton of sugar and cream in it but that could just be me. This place is awesome!! Such a cool place to just hang out and relax with the family after a long day out checking out the monument and other local activities. The staff is super friendly. I absolutely LOVE this place. First, it is super cozy and comfy. They have really nice seating both inside and outside, along with a life-sized chess board. Their staff are SUPER friendly and helpful. We came in last weekend and did a wine tasting and it was GRAND. This is a great place to come to if you're not sure which wineries you want to visit in the area as they have tastings from Firehouse Winery, Prairie Berry, and Strawbale Winery. With that said, if you decide to buy a bottle here, it will be slightly marked up (but not bad in all honesty). I'm glad we came because we tried a Cranberry Jalapeno wine from Strawbale and it was AMAZING. It was really fruity and had a nice subtle jalapeno taste at the end. We ended up buying a bottle.....so I would highly recommend it. In addition to a FREE wine tasting, they also have coffee (iced and hot), as well as gelato. I tried the grapefruit gelato and it was delicious. I also ordered an iced caramel mocha to go, which was great. In sum, definitely a place you should stop by! read more

Brought some visiting company up here. Adorable little place. They were setting up for live music. The coffee was really good. Very comfortable atmosphere. I love the look and feel of the place. I've seen friendlier baristas in my time, but the really good coffee made up for it. I'd definitely stop back in the next time we are in the area. read more
