We got here just before it closed at 9pm and the people behind the counter were very helpful. We were surprised that there was a bagel store here so had to try it out and were very happy we did! This is an interesting place with bagels and food on one side of the restaurant and fudge and other good stuff on the other side. My wife and I split a Bagel Lunch with turkey and chipotle, avocado and kettle chips and it was really good. I won't lie, there's only two reasons I chose this spot over the others: 1, yelp reviews, and 2, because if their menu drink, the Buffalo Tail. It caught my eye and I had to try it. It was delicious. Awful. The absolute worst I've ever ordered. My 6 year old daughter threw away her frappe. I ordered an americano and got watered down coffee WITH milk. When I asked them to fix it, they stared at my ticket & argued (in another language) for several minutes and gave me the same thing again. I also threw away my drink. Cute roadside coffee place. Super friendly staff. Sea Salt Carmel Fudge was like a heavy, dense Milky Way. Fudge is a bit denser than other fudges, so it does not melt in your mouth right away. Super tasty though! And no grainy sugar like in the kind my mom makes! Ice blended s'more mocha was okay. Might have been better iced. read more

This review/rating is ONLY in regards to the espresso. Tl;dr -- it sucks. From other reviews, it seems they might have good blended drinks or drip coffee, but I only had the espresso and it was very disappointing. It was thin, watery, and far too bitter with no visible crema. The service was prompt and courteous, thus I give 2 stars instead of 1. read more

Worst Caramel Latte I've ever had. I ordered the 16oz for for $4.99 and my total was $6.21! She said it was .50 extra for the caramel. Nowhere on the menu does it say flavors are an extra charge. PUT IT ON THE MENU! It lists available flavors but no mention of a charge. read more

Fast, tasty coffee and friendly service. We tried the s'more mocha (signature drink) and it did not disappoint. After a long trip it was nice to stop in to a modern, upscale-feeling establishment for a change. Picked up smoothies for the kids, and the service was quick and friendly - a much needed alternative to hotel coffee. read more

The staff is terrific; and, the coffee is quite good (more of a medium roast, to bring out the flavor of the beans than the darker roasted coffees I prefer.) All three of us had special requests, whether it be iced coffee, coffee with a side of ice in a glass, or quirks in preparation. Each of us was fully accommodated; and, they even brought out Splenda, when I didn't see any on the counter. There is plenty of seating; and, wi-fi, as well as tables on which to work (a local real estate agent was busy on her laptop,) We had a great time, just relaxing, waiting for the local attractions to open. If you are in Keystone, make it a point to stop in, you won't be disappointed. Great folks, great coffee! This place was amazing with the friendliest people ever. We showed up in the rain, but the shop was closed. They let us come in and warm up anyways. We also got a cup of their amazing coffee and some great locals-only info on the best ways to see Mt Rushmore. Thank you so much for letting us in! What a find!!! I was hoping to find a good coffee house on our road trip and we DID, with Holy Terror Coffee!!! The coffee was EXCELLENT, as was the service. The owner engages with an international work/travel program and we had WONDERFUL conversations with the servers Katarina (Croatia), Sergio (South America... forgive me, I forgot his home country) and Champagne (Thailand). The shop is very clean, well-appointed and maintained... and the gift shop area has an attractive assortment of items. Though we didn't indulge, the fudge looked amazingly good. This was a phenomenal place to stop and try amazing coffee and fudge. The owner/manager is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I left my iPhone there after we had left and had to run back 30 minutes later to try and find it. I'm from out of town, and live close to central Iowa where there are a lot of good coffee shops to choose from. Yesterday, I stopped by and ordered a plain almond milk latte. This was probably the best coffee I've ever had! Most espresso drinks that use almond milk can be quite bitter, but this did not even come close. We visited Holy Terror 3 times on our recent visit (last week) to the Keystone, SD area. I thought their name and logo were great so I couldn't wait to go. The first time I ordered a cold blended mocha. A gentleman from Columbia made it. It was outstanding! The next day, we stopped in to get another. A young lady made my drink. A few minutes in, I noticed she was making a hot drink. I said, "Excuse me, I asked for a iced/blended mocha." She said, "Ok." She then took the hot drink and put it in the blender, adding ice afterward. It tasted awful...not much mocha flavor at all. The third day, I figured I'd head back to see if the other guy was working...he was! The manager or owner was apparently working as well. He had a DQ shirt on. Apparently they own both DQ and Holy Terror. I told him in detail what happened over the past few days AND that my drink the previous day was terrible. He simply said, "Yeah, we'll have to do better training with her. She is nice but doesn't make the best drinks." That's it. He didn't apologize and he didn't offer a free drink or discount. I was in shock. Apparently I was in so much shock that I ordered another since the Columbian guy was there. It was decent but still slightly less flavorful than the first day. On the 4th day, I was thinking..."Fool me once, etc.!" I went to Grapes and Grinds and started over. Their atmosphere was better and the workers were actually friendly. That's my 2 cents. Take it for what it's worth. Hopefully the owner of this place starts training his workers. read more
