I really like this place. Unfortunately their delivery is not great. My boyfriend and I are sick and ordered a bunch of juices. They were out of one kind we ordered and simply didn't send it. They claimed to have tried to call to tell us they were out, but no missed calls/messages left. When I called asking, they did not properly communicate they were out of the juice I ordered. All I was told was the bill was adjusted - I thought this was a courtesy for the delivery being late. A miscommunication, but the woman on the phone was pretty aggressive - I was told there were "5 other orders"... every order should be equally important. I would have appreciated an offer for a different kind of juice instead. Being sick and not being able to go out is bad enough which is why delivery is genius. But to wait an hour and fifteen for two juices is not really worth the trouble. Further, the prices are quite high and I spend a lot of money here every week so the courtesy would have been lovely. read more

Yeah its expensive, but so is every other juice place. Delivery was really quick! KAYPTONITE is my personal juice choice. No complaints, they do a pretty good job all around! Ordering a fresh made smoothie in the store can take awhile if there is one or more other customers before you. If your not in a rush then waiting a little bit probably won't bother you. read more

most times i come here it's fine. but twice now the workers have been pretty rude. once i came in at 8:10am, 10minutes after they had opened and one lady said, "are you fucking kidding me?". some other employee had to calm her down but i was pretty annoyed already. this second time i ordered an acai bowl with strawberries to go and the employee brought up a bowl to stay (for another customer). i asked if it was for me because i was the only one standing there. she replied, "if yours is to go then this isnt yours" with an incredibly condescending tone. all she needed to say was that there's another one coming up that's probably mine. the customer service here makes me really uncomfortable. read more

After hearing about Grass Roots Juicery from a friend, I started going at least 1x a week. Im hooked ... My fav drink is the Fruity Spice(super delicious)!! The other day I was in Grass Roots waiting in line to place my order when I hear someone from behind the register say "she wants a fruity spice" I looked up and smiled. Although I come in from time to time I wasn't expecting Carmen (I had to find out her name) to know what I would want. I had a terrible experience at this place. I waited an extremely long time for my smoothie. Then when I did get it, it didn't taste right and it tasted like it was watered down. I also, asked if they can remake they proceeded to tell me they cannot do that. My husband and I have also been frequenting this establishment in our local neighborhood since it had first opened, which was less than a year ago...and we will no longer be customers of Grass Roots Juicery. The dramatic price increase has shown no value for their customers (mind you, the smoothies are not organic). I find it alarming how customer service and customer value has become so irrelevant across the board with businesses here in NYC and its boroughs. And I find it even MORE alarming how many of these businesses' patrons just accept their irrational prices and poor customer service. On a last note, Grass Roots store owner who happens to be an attractive young woman is not nice and looks like the most miserable human being in all of Williamsburg. I have to agree with some of the comments from these reviews. Toasts are definitely overpriced/underportioned. Smoothies are hit or miss as far as taste, as is all the prepared/"breakfast and lunch" food. Since the expansion they have raised prices on almost everything. I have been coming for a year but would only come here for occasional smoothie... there's just too many other options now to be paying so much and often being disappointed in quantity and taste. read more

Loved this place until I walked in to find they randomly raised the price of my favorite basic smoothie by THREE DOLLARS. I kindly asked the staff, "Why? Did the price of produce go up or something?" and they *rudely* gave me the lame explanation- "There are lots of reasons. We had to do it." I informed them that The Brooklyn Standard one block away on Grand still charges $5.50 for all of their juices. They flat out lied and disagreed with me, saying they are still the cheapest juicery in NYC. I've had my fair share of juice spots but this one has that extra special something. My personal favorite is the fruity spice. One of very few juice combos that gives me ginger without making me feel as if someone snuck hot sauce into my drink. The prices have gone up a tic in the past couple months but still seems very reasonable due to quantity. I've literally LOVED this place since the day it opened and have provably gone weekly for 6 years. The staff are so nice, helpful and knowledgable (as I am someone with celiac disease and never get sick here ;) - I can't recommend the juices enough and the skin care offering there is FIRE FIRE FIRE, the owner knows what she's doing and selling and I have started getting most of my skin care routine items here as well. Last May (2019) I walked into Grass Roots and it changed my life. Might sound over-the-top but it is true. I'm 49, have never dieted or watched my food or weight -- but due to aging and having a job that had me at a desk for the three years previously, I started gaining weight at an alarming rate. In two years I gained 24 pounds. But it wasn't about the weight that drew me into Grass Roots, it was also about how I felt--bloated, tired, worn. Even though I love food, I was never deliberate with my food. I had also never tried smoothies, juices or a lot of greens. Grass Roots introduced me to all of it, and I've never looked back. I used to eat a croissant every morning, now I have a juice...and what a difference! Croissants are wonderful but my body just couldn't take them anymore. I did two of the Grass Roots cleanses and shockingly LOVED them....(and I am not a lover of wheat grass.) There are so many options, so many delicious things to try and I discovered I loved coconut waters, and beet/carrot juices, and date/banana/blueberries. I had no idea. They also have a library (book shop) of great, motivating, healthy living books...and that further provided a foundation for the change in my life. If you are looking for a change in 2020, I highly recommend just walking through their doors and giving it a try! read more

As a frequent guest at this location meaning I come there everyday I've experience some legendary customer service from my favorite person there Carmen she has got to have the best attitude in a food service job she goes above and beyond all the time and I'm always please to see her when I come in but as of my recent experience with the owner was very unpleasant she was very rude I get that people like myself can be annoying and ask a lot of question because to me my health is very important but her whole delivery was extremely rude and unprofessional I always get a zinger shot and a shot of wheatgrass I told her that the wheatgrass taste a little off and she basically was like that all we have and she wasn't Accommodating at all as a person who spends tons of money there you would think she would try to make the experience a pleasant one but her attitude STINKS. I hope that after reading this she realizes that we all entitled to a bad day but not everyday every encounter I've had with this woman is horrible the best time to stop by when she's not there staff is much friendlier and and the experience is much more calm . I think her customer service might be as bad as the employees at juice press but I love this place so much hopefully Carmen can give her a training course in customer service ... read more

Even though their menu has a "make your own" option, they wouldn't make me a pineapple juice without an upcharge or making a big deal about me ordering just pineapple juice. First of all, no where on their menu does it state that there's an extra charge or how much an extra charge would be. Second, the employees we're just making it up as they go. One said it was an extra dollar because pineapples are expensive. Another said it was double and he didn't want to make it because it would use up too much of their pineapple supply. Not only were the employees extremely rude but they were very unprofessional! I understand charging extra for products or services that may cost more, but put it on your menu or add a extra sign somewhere. Isn't that the point of signage? Don't just immediately jump down a customers throat because they asked for something that's on your menu, and then they question an extra charge that's not clearly stated on that menu. read more

I'm seconding what another reviewer pointed out - sometimes their smoothies are great, sometimes they are a flavorless icy disaster. I'm not sure why they use ice at all - come on guys - everyone knows you use frozen produce in smoothies, not ice. Today I struck gold with their espresso buzz smoothie. Hopefully they are learning their lesson and I'll be just as pleased with all future smoothies. And yeah, it can be a little slow, but I'm ok with that. I'm sure they'll get the hang of it. I just hope they don't jack up their prices once they are settled. The one thing that keeps me going there, as opposed to just making a smoothie at home, is that the prices are relatively reasonable. $5.50 for most smoothies (except for the espresso one, that was $7), and I think $4-5 for most of their fresh pressed juices. Grass Roots! Meow-sa ! I Adore this place! Chia Strawberry Pudding is luscious & Raw Heavenly salad is so good ! The quinoa meatballs are interesting! I've never had anything like them before! There are so many things I want to try on their menu!! They have several options including smoothies, juices, trail mix, meals, & desserts! I always create a custom smoothie with all the add ons & drink to the last drop! I haven't tried the juices yet, but hopefully very soon! The prices on the drinks are way more than the food, which is weird...but it's ALL so worth it that I cannot complain ! I was super excited to try out this new juice place since I normally go to juice press. I figured this would be my new juice spot. Ive been in about 5 times each time hoping it will be better than the time before. I have to say the staff is very nice and friendly but the woman who I believe is the Manager is rude to me every time. I dont know what it is, Im very friendly and she always gives me nasty looks and is rude if I have a question. Its a shame cause she is a pretty woman and would be a hell of a lot prettier if she smiled. These juices are not cheap either and for a 10 dollar juice I would hope to have good customer service from whoever is in charge. The juices are just ok and I did get a kale salad and it tasted like it had been packaged for awhile. Too bad because I really wanted to love this place. read more
