This was the best dental experience I ever had! I was a nervous wreck, petrified of getting my tooth removed. Everyone went above an beyond to help calm me down and comfort me. omg just awful! Dr. Porcaro of Grateful Dental doesn't know how to speak English the right way I couldn't understand anything she was saying to me. The dental assistant that was with her didn't seem like she knew anything and the Dentist was get frustrated as I could tell. The women at the front desk said that she was going to schedule me an appointment so that I could get a root canal I said ok sure thing we setup the appointment when they setup up the appointment it didn't even go through and I went in the day she said it was setup for and they said they didn't have an appointment for me that day I said I would never recommend them to nobody "they said that's up to you" I heard a dental assistant said what a b**** in the background. using fowl language where it's supposed to be for kids as well.. Dr. Porcano, is great. I had to get a tooth pulled, which is a scary process. My past dentists have always told me that doing a root canal or pulling one of my teeth is a real challenge. I have really long roots (inherited from my mother). Dr. Porcano pulled the tooth in minutes without me even knowing it. I thought she was joking when she said "Ok all done". This office was completely stressful the second I walked in. I could tell the atmosphere was tense. When I had my teeth worked on I was given good pointers on taking better of my teeth. I over heard the doctor out in the hall, while I was waiting in my room, talking as if she was talking down to somebody. Not sure what was going on, but it was unprofessional. After I was done, it felt a little hostile after my appointment like I was rushed out all of a sudden b/c I heard it or something. I'm not sure but this place doesn't feel family oriented. read more

I just found my new dentist. What a pleasant surprise! It stared with my initial phone call and the service just kept getting better. Brandee made me feel extremely comfortable during my x-rays and Dr. Porcaro was amazingly welcoming and considerate of my time and my money. I even have to give Kuddos to the Finance Director, he took his time to explain my insurance benefits and helped me schedule my services to suit my finances. horrible customer service. Second time that I requested an appointment for cleaning. First time I left work for my appointment when I got there the lady on the reception asked for my documents, a few minutes later she called me and asked what I was going to do. I said my appointment was for cleaning and she said I couldn't do that day. I asked her if I could reschedule and she said I could do it this Wednesday 12/20 at 4:00 pm. Yesterday someone called me asking what I was going to do. I explained what happened and that I was going to do do cleaning, and once again I was informed that I couldn't do it and that the person would be back to the office January 8th. the person I spoke on the phone was very rude and they can't give the customer the right information. Follow me on this - went in for cleaning about two months ago - I also had a bridge that was loose and need to be re-cemented. It came loose about ten years ago and was repaired then; lasted for 10 years or so. After my cleaning the dentist stated that she could repair it. I also inquired about a crown lengthening - which she also said that she could do. So, she recemented my bridge and stated twice that it was not sitting in there perfectly but proceeded. When I asked about the cost for the crown lengthening, she would do it with the laser and would be a piece of cake. But someone else would talk to me about the price. So, after her assistance held pressure on the bridge for about five minutes - I was told we were done, she (the dentist) never returned to check it. Then a guy identified as her husband ushered me into his office and razzle dazzled me with awesome software showing me other people's teeth while selling me on how my perfect conditioned crowns could look like those for merely $4900.00 . . . YEP!!! That would get me a free crown lengthening. Same procedure I had previous quotes for $1600 - $2000.00 for the lengthening with laser. It's not about the money, as I am cash and credit heavy but more about an unnecessary up-sale fueled by pure greed it seems. So, you laugh on the inside, and politely smile on the outside while saying "let me think about that one. " Then comes the drop sale . . . the husband goes I'll give you a discount $300.00 off and drop that down to $4600.00 . . . politely still "let me think on it and I'll let you know." Fast forward 5-6 days later the re-cemented bridge repair is out and I call them. I was told on the phone empathically to "come on in and we would take care of it." I get there and the receptionist gives me the same price I paid the last time - I thought you said you'd take care of it. "No, we are not responsible for work that was 30 years old." WTH! "I just had this done a week ago" I replied. Just then the husband walked by and intervened saying "let me take care of this." He returned saying that it was no charge. I was taken back to an exam room. An assistant came in (not the dentist) mind you, she never showed her face. The assistant states "I hear you need a new crown, we can prep you now and it can all be done right here." At a cost of $2000.00 while I am trying to address the issue (bad re-cement job) from last week. She told me to come up front - I assume to pay the $2000.00 or so. Incredibly, she (the dentist) would not even take the time out to examine her failed work, not to mention take any accountability or ownership over the lack of good craftmanship and poor quality of the work. Not even the guts to stand behind her work - or low disregard while consumed by quantity over quality. Really got the feeling she could care less, so don't let it happen to you! I left and went to another dentist - it's been nearly 2 months as the new dentist made to same repair and it's going on strong to this date. The new dentist herself, cleaned it, checked it and double checked her repair work and how it was set. She also advised that if I had any issues to let her know and she will address it. She's doing my crown lengthening as well, realistic results without unnecessary replacements. Way better that what I got from Ungrateful Dental, their exact same repair lasted 5 - 6 days maybe?? I can't image if I had spent $4900.00 and let her replace perfectly good crowns for a free lengthening - if a problem would have aroused and she told me again that she wasn't responsible for her very own work. Unbelievable!!! - Don't believe the commercials and hype. I am Grateful that I walked away . . . you be Grateful that you read this before going in there. That was my BAD!!! Be it not for a good cleaning from very nice professional young black hygienist who was great on my first visit; this rating would be way less than 0 . . . like -100!!! read more

Very disappointed with this office.. think twice before patronizing this Dentist esp if Dr. Porcara's husband is working there. After 13 months of treatment for "6 months braces" Dr. Porcaro offered me a refund and recommended I go to an orthondontist. I accepted the offer, they removed my braces, issued me a refund - Saturday, 11/5/2016. Please understand... .I NEVER requested a refund - nor did I request to stop ortho care - Dr. Porcaro and her assistant recommended it. I received an EMAIL this morning from Dr. Porcaro's husband, 11/7 - 2 days later that they were changing the offer!!! How unprofessional and unethical is that esp when it was acknowledged in the office that there was still work to be done - more ortho work needed as a result of the movement they introduced. They left "heighteners in my mouth stating that if they removed them that my top teeth might hit the bottom teeth. We also talked about the height of my teeth were different - and the assistance indicated that the placement of the brackets can cause this and that could also be resolved by the orthodontist. Also, some of my teeth are inverted on one side that probably could have been easily corrected by their office. I will be seeking legal action against Grateful Dental... so unfortunate. I had such respect for Dr. Porcaro and her staff and honestly was considering using her for my daughter - but definitely will NOT now and mainly because of the way they (her husband) completely changed their offer AFTER removing my braces. If they had offered this before my braces were removed... then this all could have been avoided and they could have possibly completed my ortho care. But instead, Dr Porcaro's husband decided to handle this in less than a professional manner and STOPPED payment on the check they gave me! WOW See below my response to Dr. Porcaro's husband _________________________________________________________________________ Sheppard Cox, As communicated to Laurie this morning... I am insulted that you would email me with an attempt to change the arrangement offered to me by your wife, Dr. Porcaro. I am not sure how you can justify a change in the agreement suggested/recommended by your office esp via email... nor is it ethical behavior. I did not ask to stop treatment nor did I ask for a refund - instead your office offered it to me! I accepted Dr Porcaro's proposal... and left the office Saturday understanding that there are changes that occurred under Dr. Porcaro's care that would require care from an orthodontist eg. the assistant left the cemented teeth heighteners so my top teeth don't hit my bottom ones (THIS was NOT a problem before care) and some of my teeth are still slightly out of place. If I had known that you would attempt to change the offer (offered a MONTH ago)... I would have instead asked Dr. Porcaro to make the needed adjustments and completed my ortho care in your office instead of having to start all over again... taking additional time (from work - months; possibly a year) and additional money. I would have been open to discussing a different approach but was not offered any other options... but instead you (Sheppard - someone that has NEVER even spoken to me) were extremely rude and told the assistant that took Xrays... she has her check; just let her leave - it's too late to discuss. I communicated your behavior to your wife (Dr Porcaro) before I left - she listened but did not offer an apology which was also disappointing. I was then rushed out and told the office was behind on appointments. It was very obvious that your staff was aware of the agreement/frustration from you and treated me as less than a valued patient - so I left and did not look back! As agreed/suggested by Dr. Porcaro... I will be seeking a consultation and treatment from another orthodontist. Therefore, I will be starting over again with the new orthondist recommended treatment. I am not sure why Ulandy and Dr. Porcaro chose to offer me a full refund... other than their frustration with the constant unexpected movement of my teeth from week to week and I assume they just wanted to give up. However, I accepted the offer in good faith and therefore did not even request any additional adjustment. I am awaiting a call back from either Laurie or Dr. Porcaro. As discussed with Laurie... the check was deposited Saturday. I am NOT in agreement with your change of the offer made to me by Dr.Porcaro and awaiting Laurie's or Dr. Porcaro's call back today. I've been going to this Dentist office for the past 5 to 6 years. When I started coming here from the customer service to the friendly faces everything was Awesome !!! Until either half of the stuff quit or got fired these new people that they hired are a definite NO for me. From the customer service to the employees is WHACK and unprofessional. I sat in the lobby 30 mins with my 2 kids who had appointments as well. A 1 year old and a 3 year old so you could imagine they was all over the place there was no room ready so I'm the midst of them getting a room together I had to fill out paper work which was fine. My kids were being kids Ofcourse so I decided to take them to the car to finish paper work. I received a call saying they were ready so I get my kids out the car come back in and then they tell me we have to reschedule. How fuxking unprofessional is that ! Why would y'all waste my damn time ! I would never recommend this dentist office to anyone ! I would never come back after receiving this type of service ! Ridiculous! I had the best first time experience at Grateful Dental. The staff was nice and friendly. My hygienist Vickey was very nice and made my teeth cleaning painless. She was gentle but thorough and very friendly. Dr Porcaro was amazing. She didn't rush off but sat and really listened, gave feedback and had a nice personality. I have never paid a dentist these prices in my life! They added on my bill without my permission! I had to tell them to take it off!!! The lady that handles the payments up my care credit amount without my permission and I already had enough to cover the cost! I just didn't see all the things on my bill they said they done. Maybe I don't know dentist terms but for all the things that was billed I don't remember spending that kind of time there to do itt. I didn't have no financial situation I had enough to cover all my expensive! I work everyday I am not on no fixed income!!! The only thing you ever discussed was money,money and more money! Never once did you discuss procedures! All I got was a proposed information!!! You put the bridge in without any numbing medicine and didn't get permission from me! It was very painful! I started with Grateful Dental a little over 1 year ago (Aug 2017) with my friend's referral after my Dentist retired. The appointment process was fast and they got me in within a few days. I had a cleaning done and then was seen by Dr Porcaro. She is very professional and caring and does a wonderful job. She suggested I try braces and when I explained the price concern, she then hooked me up with her Office Manager, Sheppard who gave me a price I couldn't refuse. Dr. Porcaro had Luciana (Lucy) install and maintain my braces with Dr. Porcaro checking periodically. I cannot say enough how great Luciana is! She listened to all my concerns and kept me informed of my progress all along the way. When some of the teeth weren't doing what they were supposed to do, Luciana figured a way to get them to move the way they were supposed to. All along Lucianna was so caring and helpful. I don't usually give reviews so in depth, but this office deserves it . They are the best. read more

I will never go back to this office. It's no wonder they send out so many mailers trying to get new customers. The back of the office staff were all pleasant to deal with but the front office staff is a joke. I went in for a regular cleaning and after it was done and I was at the front desk to leave, I was told I owed money for a deep cleaning. I even had the technician that cleaned my teeth come to the front and told the girl at the desk that it was in fact a regular cleaning. She said she would take care of it and I left. They never took care of it and keep sending me a bill for it. When I called to discuss, I was told that they never said they would take care of it and I owed money for a deep cleaning. Basically, that I was a liar. Absolutely horrible customer service. That was months ago and they actually sent it to collections now. Do not go here, they are crooks. read more

I have been coming to Grateful Dental for years now. Thank goodness for this group of amazing dentist, hygienists, and technicians! Every time I come here, I'm impressed with their professionalism, friendliness, efficient treatments and great facilities. I never wait for more than 5 minutes after my appointment time, which is very important for a very busy professional. Dr. Porcaro truly cares about her patients' wellbeing and always comes up with ways to minimize pain and cost, while taking great care. I also love the expanded office space, TVs on the ceiling, and on-site 3D printer that can generate temporary crowns in minutes. The best experience at the dentist I've EVER had, hands down!!!!! I was devastated when my tooth broke in half during dinner on a FRIDAY NIGHT! Not only was I unable to finish dinner, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find a dental office open on Saturday. A thousand thoughts went through my mind. I recently began a new job and had a really important meeting coming up in a few days. How could I go to work, laugh, smile, TALK?!?! Did I mention that the broken tooth was the right canine? Definitely in my smile line. NOT GOOD. The next morning I got up early and started searching online for dentist in Atlanta open on Saturday. I called 12 dentist offices before I found one online that advertised Saturday hours. Feeling desperate, I located the address and drove to that dental office praying they would have an opening (and actually BE OPEN!). To my dismay, they weren't. Trusting Google to help me find SOMEONE, ANYONE open on Saturday. Grateful Dental was an office I hadn't tried, so...Not only were they open, but also had an opening! Whoooohooo! The moment I came in, I was greeted by Sheppard who quickly saw my distress and began doing everything to calm and assist me. No typical long doctor's office wait later, Dr. Porcaro and her awesome dental assistants/hygienists Jakky and Dee were examining, assessing and treating my broken tooth. After seeing the before-and-after pics, my friends, family and especially my teenage daughter all agreed that even the temporary looked amazing and had no doubt that the final replacement would be perfect. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I came to this office the week before last in hopes to get dental work done on a tooth that was giving me problems. After I was given a prescription for pain and antibiotic, I was told that I would get a phone call back to see if there was room that same day for the extraction (since the tooth couldn't be saved.) Upon receiving the phone call, I was told that the Dr. thought it was best to have the tooth extracted by an oral surgeon. The gentlemen gave me the number to the oral surgeon over the phone and told me to call to make the appointment. (That was supposed to be the "referral".) Fast forward to the day of the consultation, (the surgery was scheduled for the next day) the surgeon, says they never received a written referral from them, (it also wasn't given to me because I was given the number over the phone.) and he would not extract the tooth without it. The oral surgeon tried to reach them, as have I, but the office is closed all week...not even an emergency number to call!!! My x-rays weren't even sent over as requested. This is a huge inconvenience as I have already taken time off work and interrupted someone else's schedule (who came from out of state) so I can have a driver after the surgery. I have been TOTALLY inconvenienced by this. I even messaged them on FB and the message was read and I STILL didn't receive a response. I had to message them AGAIN. Im not even sure who was messaging back, but they were NO HELP! If you want to be inconvenienced, go here. If not, I suggest going somewhere else!!! read more

I traveled from Florida to Ga to take engagement photos for my niece. On the way a tooth that had bothered me previous was really bothering me. The next day I still had to travel 6 hours through Atlanta to get to my niece. I asked my sister to google and find me a dentist so when I got through Atlanta they could extract my tooth and I could then just go and take the pictures. Grateful Dental had amazing reviews so my sister made me an appointment. This was on a Saturday, I had to switch my appointment 4 times because we were still traveling. By the time I arrived I had a baseball on the side of my face. They took me in immediately and extracted my tooth. I made it on time to take the photos. From the first call to the fourth call, from the receptionist to the Asstistant and then to the amazing dentist this was the best experience ever! This office is absolutely amazing. Clean, friendly and professional. The icing on the cake was Dr Porcaro calling me the next day (on a Sunday no less) to see how I was doing!!! Absolutely amazing office and staff.
