This is an old fashioned sort of kennel. It has a series of fences around the property so the dogs can play in groups safely. Tammy is careful to keep the dogs in play groups that are appropriate for their size and temperament. The dogs stay in individual kennels in a large pole barn that is climate controlled, but doesn't have the other comforts of home. I never send any bed or anything, just their food. Our guys are always happy to see us, and they never have had any problems under Tammy's care. Your dog(s) will come home tired, and likely reeking of a weekend in the country. We always plan a bath as soon as we get home, which seems to disappoint them greatly. Dogs love to be stinky! I recommend this kennel for your dog's next vacation.

I left my pup there for 4 days while I was on vacation. I came back to pick him up and he had a bite mark on his cheek. The groomer said it was a hot spot although my dog has had numerous of hot spots, he's never had them on his face and they've never looked like bloody sores. I took him home to unpack his bags to find mice droppings in his food. I called muddy paws and stated my concern and requested a refund for his food that was $50 a bag at petco. The owner was upset over the phone and told me to come back to receive a check in the amount of my pups dog food. I arrived, and the owner was rude to me. She stated that I should have already been aware of mice (although it was my first time there and she never stated over the phone that her facility had mice) I stated that it would have been better to notify paying customers of this issue. She later told me that me and my puppy weren't welcomed back and proceeded to block my number. This sucked because I'm sure my puppy had a great time with the other dogs there and I wouldn't have had an issue if she would have made me aware of the mice infestation they had before I dropped my pup off. I would have looked elsewhere for boarding services.

I had a recommendation to use Tina through next door. I interviewed her and she seems great with…read morepets. She is $35 per half hour visit, and $200 per day for overnights. She has a surcharge of $20 per visit for holidays and the days around the holidays (sometimes the weeks), which I found a bit high and since I usually go on vacation around holidays (I'm a teacher), I would have to avoid a fair amount of possible vacation dates to be able to afford her fees. Also, she lives too far from us, so our only option for vacations would be to pay the $200 fee for overnights and I was not clear if she'd be with the dogs during the day because she said she's usually gone around 11 am into the the later evening. Tina knows everyone in the pet community and we had a rewarding time trading information about vets, chiropractors for dogs, etc. I feel like she'd be a great fit for us if her fees were lower, or if she lived closer to us.

For our first "get acquainted" visit, she arrived with a clipboard and professional form to get info on our cats, likes/dislikes, where their food, water bowls and litter pans are located, name of vet(s), health/medical questions, what to do in case of a pet emergency. And then info about us and our house--alarm system info, newspapers/mail brought in, etc. We were bowled over with her professionalism. And they're bonded and insured. For about 12 years now Jan has watched our pets, and is always available--even on the rare but unavoidable short-notice need. I had so much anxiety before I met Becky because they are both rescues, and I didn't want them to feel we abandoned them. However, Becky came over the week prior to our departure and I could see that they would be in good hands. She stayed overnight while we were gone and took great care of my little fuzz balls. She is certified in CPR, is kind and honest, left our place in tip-top shape, and truly wants to give our pets a good experience. Plus, I was so worn out when I got back in town that I didn't think to call and check in (we arranged that she would watch them through the morning and leave since we would be back in the afternoon.) However, being the responsible sitter that she is, she called me to make sure everything was okay and that we got back at a reasonable time so that she would know if she should come back to feed and walk the dogs. Becky really goes above and beyond. I can't say enough good things about her.
