I came in to get some information on doggy day care & familiarize myself with the facility... While waiting, I overheard the owner & another groomer badmouth & gossip the owners of a pet being groomed... beyond disappointing! I walked out & won't be returning. Talk about unprofessional! I had heard mixed reviews before dropping in & now got to experience it firsthand. Definitely not a business that deserves my business if they feel so open about trashing their customers! Maybe next time you want to put your customers down you should look around & make sure you don't scare any away! They don't deserve my hard earned money or probably yours either! Shame on you Jenny, and you are also setting a bad example for your employees! Your customers deserve your loyalty & not for you to talk badly about them in the environment they entrust you in to take care of their fur babies! read more

I absolutely love this place! I have 4 dogs and they always do so well! I just took my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in and Amanda did such an amazing job. He looks like my sweet little boy again. The front desk is amazing and so is Stephanie!!! All the staff is wonderful. read more

Huckleberry's takes great care of my dogs! My Jack Russell chihuahua mix always does walk in nail clipping. He typically hates it but they do it quickly and in a way he seems very comfortable. I also get my husky groomed there and she is always stunning afterwards! She is a bit nervous every time and they are very gentle with her as they lead her to the back, our first time an employee even got on the ground with her for a few minutes to help her relax. read more

I took both my dogs there last week. They bathed, groomed, and de-shedded my White German Shepherd and did a wonderful job with her. Their pricing is fabulous as well. I used their self-service dog wash for my Mastiff/German Shepherd mix as he is a bit more anxious and it was SO easy to use. The shampoo mixture is right in a nozzle, just spray it right on! There were stairs to walk him up to the waist-high tub. The dryer has a low and high setting and is right next to the tub and there are two tethers for you to use to keep your dog in place. New to the area and am happy to have found this place. I was referred to them by a vet that was full for the dates we wanted. I have never had a more pleasant check in process. They truly seem to care about my pups and take them back quickly and then you can fill out the paperwork in peace. This is especially important for me because two of my pups have to be separated and I have to make several trips back and forth to my vehicle during the process. My pups were fine when I picked them up, all of their stuff was returned, and I took them back a second time and was equally as happy. read more

I would think twice before bringing my pet to Huckleberry's. I noticed a customer in front of me trying to convey some things she was hoping to achieve with her dogs groom (very nicely), and as soon as she left, I overheard one of the groomers & the owner Jenny talking crap about the customer & making fun of her. So rude & disrespectful! Jenny should definitely be setting an example for her groomers about being professional & think twice before mocking her clientele before they all realize how two faced she is. So disheartening. I definitely got the impression that this is the norm there. The bathroom was pretty disgusting to boot. read more

they did not brush my dogs teeth, like I had requested, my dog smelled like he had sat in the kennel for the 4 hours he had spent there instead of being groomed. Not super friendly either. First visit was great, but the last 2 times were not great at all and will not return! will not recommend! read more

Huckleberry's did a wonderful job on our Shorkie Dorey! We are new to the Sycamore area and needed to find a new groomer. In the past groomers have always did the opposite of how I would like her cut and she ends up way too short. They cut her exactly how I wanted her and she is absolutely ADORABLE...even added a cute pink heart bandanna! Very friendly & nice. We found our groomer! Fantastic job! read more

Walked in for a nail trim, staff was really friendly and nice. They did an excellent job. My dog was really scared and a little panicky but they were perfect and calmed her down and it was done in a couple of minutes. And she even got a free biscuit afterwards. Definitely coming back. read more

Huckleberry's was great with my cat, Hodge. When I dropped him off they were kind and friendly. When I went to get him they said everyone there loved him. They did a great job with his bath as well. He was so soft, smelled great, and his shedding was down because they brushed him out. I would go back if I hadn't moved. Only thing that worried me was the doggy day care is right next to the reception desk. When I was checking out someone was holding the day car door open and the dogs were very loud. If you have an active dog who likes to play with other dogs in a daycare setting, then this facility is not a good fit. I was told that because my dog "retaliated" against another dog who was protecting its toy, our active dog wouldn't be allowed in daycare for the duration of our trip. Our dog is non-aggressive, has been to several daycare facilities and has never had an issue. On the webcam, we witnessed our dog be swiftly removed from daycare as soon as he became active and started playing with another dog. We also watched another dog be held on a leash and actually jerked around the entire time he was in daycare. Our older, less-active dog seemed to be acceptable here. I don't buy this facility's assessment of our active pup - in my opinion they have too many dogs and the active ones make things too hectic for their staff. read more

I knew better this morning when I was leaving Charlie that I should just cancel. The receptionist kept saying I'm confused, but at the end she said so you don't want to see skin right? Yes only about half off. HE'S SCALPED! yes you can see his skin! We came here when we first got him and were unhappy then. Now I remember why. I thought you might do better than pet smart but I guess not. Awful awful awful! They said he was matted. Not that bad! The Dog Groomery has gotten worse ones out perfectly, but you have to book her out a month. Well know I know why she's a champion groomer. read more

The daycare service is not equipped to handle puppies. They also have extremely poor communication skills. We were so excited to start our almost 4 month old pup going once a week for socialization and they can't handle her energy. So disappointed. read more

The staff was friendly and knowledgable when we called to schedule an appointment for our lab to be groomed. We had a family emergency while our dog was at Huckleberry's- the staff was warm and incredibly accommodating, going above and beyond to reassure us that our dog was being well cared for throughout her stay. We received pictures and a video of her day, as well as phone call updates. Our lab came home fluffed and in great spirits- complete with one of their complimentary bandanas. We cannot say enough about our wonderful experience and will be sure to refer any friends and family to Huckleberry's! read more

Best grooming ever on our 2 dogs! Left the dogs with them while sightseeing in Chicago. The groomer called to answer my concerns about shaving down my Amer. Eskimo Mini & we decided to go with a trim which turned out fabulous! The haircut on our terrier mix was equally great. Had them trim our cat's nails & keep him all day also. It took us over 3 hours to return from the city, getting back 25 minutes after closing. Noone ever made us feel guilty, when we called several times to keep them advised. Everything & everyone was first class about this place. read more

My dog had some great experiences when he first attended last year. It went very well. It had been a while and I wanted him to socialize with other dogs. Today I called in the afternoon and the staff told me he was doing "great" and "just fine". I kept looking for him on the webcam but couldn't see him though. Then, I got a text from my daughter that he had in fact been put in isolation for aggression. I quickly called and apparently he had been in isolation for almost the entire day for attacking other dogs early this morning. They then told me he was banned and could not ever come back. It's my dogs fault but I wish the staff had given me correct information when I first called, and had given him another chance. I think he just needed to get used to day care again. I should have brought him back sooner to continue socializing more after he had good experiences there. So I'm also to blame in the end. read more
