My storage facility gave me the info for Scooby Moving and I checked out their review on YELP and was slightly nervous due to a few bad reviews, but thought I'd check it out for myself given the referral I called on Friday and they got a couple guys together for me that came out on Sunday morning. I live in rolesville but the house I was getting furniture from was in Louisburg. I had planned for about 2 hrs of labor. They showed up right when they said, the truck was huge and packed with the essentials of moving (blankets, tie downs, etc.) they wasted no time, got everything loaded, unloaded a majority of it in THE POURING RAIN in Rolesville and then unloaded the remainder at my storage facility .The guys, Daniel or maybe Brandon (I think that was his name) and DJ, were fast, friendly, strong and did a great job. For those reviews that say the truck is small, see photo. I did not feel like it was small at all! Also, I thought these guys were fast, friendly, polite and pretty much anything you'd want a small moving company to be.

As far as the actual moving goes, yes, they can lift and move your belongings just fine. My issue was with furniture assembly. Before the move, I specifically spoke with them over the phone and explained that some furniture had been disassembled by my movers in Tucson and would need to be assembled at the destination. They said that was fine. Then, during the move, they suddenly threw in the possibility that they wouldn't assemble some of it because they didn't want to take on the liability. That was frustrating. If you've discussed the requirement beforehand and the company has agreed to it, bringing up a new limitation once the move is already underway puts the customer in a difficult position. The whole reason for discussing these things upfront is to avoid exactly that kind of surprise. To their credit, they did ultimately assemble the furniture, so it worked out. But I'd strongly recommend getting confirmation about assembly beforehand--and preferably in writing. And keep your own tab on the time.

Worst moving experience of our lives. Sales guy (no longer with the company after just a few…read moremonths) didn't communicate to the Operations guy, who didn't relay anything to the crew lead. The sales guy "with over 20 years of experience" grossly underestimated how much packing materials we'd need (only to gouge us later), and ridiculously overestimated how quickly our move would take (they were at our new home past 1 AM on move day). The moving crew was great, expect for the guy who thought it was perfectly reasonable to snack on sunflower seeds and proceed to spit his shells all over our new home. I'd list the crew by name expect I don't want to ruin their chances of getting a new gig somewhere else. They were one of several local moving companies recommended by our realtors who have since removed them from their reference list. The only bright spot, Tabitha, their scheduler (assuming she's still working there).

The disaster that was this move cannot be exaggerated. The movers who came to my house damaged a…read morewall and my wooden stairs. I was promised a repair but the company has ignored my repeated emails and calls to get that arranged. To start off, one of the movers made inappropriate remarks to me, starting with "I broke up with my girlfriend yesterday" as he inquired as to my relationship status within TEN minutes (cannot make this stuff up). The driver then got their moving van STUCK in my driveway for more than 3 hours. They arranged a tow truck to free the van and they allowed my stuff to be towed to an unknown tow yard. Abdo was unable to get the truck that day, so my items say somewhere overnight in a tow yard. They promised me a refund of 200.00 for an inconvenience fee. Instead, they had the NERVE to charge an additional 459.00 for the day they unloaded. My favorite part: They attempted to charge my credit card more than 20 times for their additional charges! They kept trying different amounts to get every possible dime out of my account: 25.00, 50.00, 20.00, 100.00....they were successful at maxing out my card. If I could share a screenshot I would! Per the moving contract, they will erase the credit card info on file per request. So, of course, I did request that once I realized what they were doing. Lo and behold, they have still tried charging my card TODAY. I have now had to freeze the card and request a new one. Do NOT use this company. In the moving contract, they specifically state they can basically use your credit card anytime for fees they believe you might owe. They just sent me another invoice this morning.
