Chippewa Glass was nice enough so I brought it in. They actually had to order the glass, to my surprise, and it took a month (they said 2 weeks) but it matches pretty well. The side bevel is slightly different but probably only I will notice. The value of my antique may be diminished but at least I can enjoy it. I wonder if I could have ordered it from someone myself and cut out the middle man? 50% payment is due up front and they take credit cards, no fee. I had to call and ask about it several times but I did get it and I'm happy.

He said to go to County Glass and Mirror instead. Well, he said go to the place on Manchester and I'm guessing this is it. When I got to County Glass and Mirror, they were in the middle of a power outage. I still go service. The employee grabbed a pen and paper (gasp), did math on a calculator (or a phone's calculator... it wasn't totally 1995 in the store), and then they called me about a week later to tell me it was ready for pickup. They didn't try to upsell me. They didn't give me multiple options. This is the one kind of glass for this thing and I was happy with that. I was in and out in 5 minutes at most both times I visited The prices seem good. The glass is great! I should have done this years ago, but I didn't know it would be this simple. I will go here first the next time I need glass.

I purchased a storm door and storm window from Viviano and unfortunately had an anwful experience from both a quality and customer service standpoint. The storm door and the storm window came for delivery on the same day. The storm window was unable to be installed as it did not fit (note, two different people came out to measure after I paid my deposit). They were able to install the storm door and the storm window was remeasured and reordered. After the storm door was installed, I had concerns about the door and its installation so I reached out to their main office phone number and spoke with the office manager. A few hours later I received an abrupt text from an unknown number. It was the owner of the company. Rather than working with me to address the issues, the owner became increasingly defensive and dismissive. In this exchange I explicitly told him that I still wanted the storm window and that my concerns were with the storm door only. His response was that he was the owner, he was making the decision, and the decision was final. He refused to install the storm window and instead offered a full refund only if he could return to my home and remove the storm door the very next day. At that point, I accepted the refund because I did not want to be left without my deposit. However, the way this was handled left my entryway looking like the home been broken to and in a condition that was extremely disappointing, as shown in the attached photo. In this case, rather than trying to find a reasonable solution, the owner repeatedly emphasized that they install "thousands" of these doors and had not had complaints, and ultimately chose to terminate the rest of the project rather than address my concerns. I was never asking for anything unreasonable. I wanted the door issues addressed, and I wanted the storm window I had ordered and been waiting for. I was very much willing to pay for it. Unfortunately, my experience with Viviano was that once I expressed dissatisfaction, the conversation became adversarial rather than focused on finding a solution. The communication was unprofessional, the situation was handled poorly, and I was left extremely appalled with the overall experience. Lastly, from my deep dive reading all reviews, I know the owner will respond rudely. I am including the messages he sent me to make it clear this is not someone you should do business with.
