Their Bloody Marys have basically become coast legend status at this point. The menu itself is pretty simple and straightforward, burgers, comfort food, drinks, nothing overly fancy, just solid beach town food done right. Sometimes those are the best kinds of places anyway. If you are wandering around Seaside and want something that feels more local than touristy, give this little hidden gem a try. It may be tucked away, but they have definitely made a name for themselves.

Even when town is packed, you are not jammed in elbow to elbow with people. Families, kids, locals, everybody just looks comfortable there. Big open historic theater, great food, quick service, sports on the screen later in the day, and good atmosphere without the chaos. Screen up or screen down, this place is one of my favorites. My review with gray comfort q has an issue. My party came in during the end of the day and were treating with great hospitality from whom I assume to be Q. The place was homely but it lacked accommodations of a typical restaurant such as a soda fountain and we were to dispense water ourselves through a water cooler. When we received our food it tasted great but it was small portions, the brisket meal we received only had two slices of brisket along with a smaller portion of sides. When comparing our meal to what pictures are posted with good reviews for this restaurant there is a significant difference in serving size and so I must make a complaint regarding this. read more

YALL, when I say you need to try this spot I mean it! It's so good. The second I walked in, it smelled like heaven. I'm originally from Georgia so I know my way around comfort food. Service was great even though we were the worst and came in right before closing. I wish I had taken a pic of the food but I was starving so I scarfed it down the second I got home. Cornbread was phenomenal, not too sweet. Ribs and brisket, amazing. The Mac n cheese was insanely good. And the homemade bbq sauces?! Wish I could buy them by the gallon. Even my picky kids licked their plates clean. Wish I could give 10 stars. Now I gotta go back and try the coffee! read more

First off, I want to point out how friendly the owner is. He reminds me of being in the South with true Southern hospitality. The food is amazing. I got the ribs, and you can eat them dry or with BBQ sauce. These were the best ribs I've ever eaten--they had a great smoky flavor. The cornbread and all of the sides were delicious. The cornbread was huge, but I was able to cut it into three servings. My family had the brisket, and they said it was really good. The BBQ sauce is sweet with a little kick. We got the mac and cheese, collards, baked beans, and coleslaw. We will definitely be back when we are in Seaside again. read more

Our experience was great here at Gray's. We rolled in for dinner with a fairly big crew and were treated with great service and amazing food. The ambiance is very comfortable. Sean ensures that everyone has everything needed to have a great experience at his BBQ joint. The smoke on the meat (particularly the ribs) was incredible. It's a more intense smoke profile leaning towards spice in place of sweet. The same goes for the beans. Amazing! I would recommend Gray's for everyone searching for some solid BBQ. read more

Mr Gray made was so kind and welcoming. Felt right at home the second we walked in the door. Got the 3 meat platter, brisquet, pulled pork and ribs. The brisquet was so tender and delicious. And the collard greens were my favorite. Everything had just the right amount of heat and smoke. My friend loved the ribs especially. Be sure to try both his homemade bbq sauces!
