Nice atmosphere with a story about almost every table made from boat hatches. Enjoyed a Friday steak special sided with baked potato last visit and for the price paid was very good. One of the cooks quit earlier this year and went to the Seaside Elks kitchen bringing them some of the best clam chowder and burgers on the North coast! The kitchen is now being operated by the people from Fish Monger that was highly rated for their fish and chips up the street. Service is spotty depending on how busy the bar side is. Owner of Fishmongers is disrespectful. I don't recommend Fish Mongers. The owner got upset when we asked if the fish was fresh. I think they get all there food from the frozen section of the grocery store. The fish had the worst odor. Nice place and convenient, but food and service weren't good. My wife had 1/2 Caesar salad and there were more croutons than lettuce. I had the pulled pork on a bun. The pork was old and hard and tried to cover up with way too much bbq sauce. The Cole slaw was very good. When we finished and tried to pay the bill and we couldn't get anyone's attention and after ten minutes my wife left and walked to the hotel. I waited for another 5-10 and finally when he asked how it was, I said the salad was more croutons than lettuce and my wife didn't eat it and he looked down at the bowl and said you're right. It was very good food! I got the salmon filet which was tender and cooked perfectly, but it could have possibly had a little bit more seasoning. The mashed potatoes were very good and they give you a generous scoop of butter for it. Broccolini was good, not great. My dad got the clam chowder which I tried and it was very good. Good flavor and very creamy. Service was very good and the workers were very nice. Only issue was the bar right next to the dining room. Not extremely sound proof which is probably not a problem on most nights, but there was karaoke going on. Leaving three stars because the bartender/waitress was great! Food not so much. My daughter and I ate here due to our favorite place being closed on Mondays and the convenience of where it was to our room. The clam strips were basic and tasteless and the fries were soggy and not cooked all the way. The salad was a decent size but the cheese had a plastic feel to it and the blue cheese dressing was horrible. I'm sure the bar is wonderful but def not the food! First off, Shana was our server and was an absolute 10. She was very patient and friendly. We came in with a group of 5 and ordered fish and chips, prime rib, chicken strips, burger and salad. Overall, the food was decent and the drinks were pretty good. If your staying at the campground or KOA, don't hesitate to come here and eat. If you don't have kids with you, they have a pretty cool bar area with pool table. read more

Another gem in the wall. Stopped in the day after Thanksgiving and all was quiet on the front. We had a choice between here or the place across the street Buoy 9- we took a gamble, no one was at this place but everyone there. I said let's try this place and that we did!! Three hours later I might add. Bartender a really nice and friendly fellow and very knowledgeable. Can talk about almost anything under the sun. The food was totally delicious, BF had the French dip.. and wow.. the dip was great. I'm not into all the meat but I do like the sauce. I ordered some fries and dipped into the sauce. We came back later that night and did some Karaoke, another full little regulars place where everyone knows / could know your name. They don't shun any outsiders and generally a fun warm and friendly place. I would definitely come back again. The food not the typical bar food, a little bit of a step up from that. Like the restaurant directly across the street this is more bar than restaurant but they do have a small dining room for those who don't want to sit in the bar area. This place definitely lived up to the earlier reviews and locals recommendations. Wow! Great food and a much better value and portion size than the establishment across the road. Only complaint is they have Pepsi. Great place, we will be back whenever We are in the region. read more

We were looking forward to having dinner there, since they are having inside dining. When the 3 of us went in the dining room entrance, there was one couple eating and a sign telling us to let the bartender know the were there. We did as directed. We said we preferred to eat in the dining room because it was quieter. She said she was at capacity, but if we could wait outside, we could be seated in about 5 minutes. She gave us menus to look at while we waited. She said she would come and get us when she could seat us. In the meantime, we watched one person leave the bar entrance and 4 people enter. We looked in the bar and sure enough they were all seated. We decided to go elsewhere and returned the menus. The one couple who had been in the dining room said they had been waiting a long time for their bill. Obviously, the bar crowd took precedence over diners. The dining room closes at 9 pm. We walked in at 8:57...they made us feel so welcome and treated us great even though they were technically closed. It was a very long day filled with a bunch of difficulties and this little place made everything so much better. Couldn't ask for nicer people to serve us. We loved this place. Our waiter Karl, an Irish guy, was not only very attentive but hilarious. The service and food was very good. We got the chicken, shrimp scampi, salmon and halibut fish and chips. We asked them a lot of gluten free questions and they were very helpful. I obviously cannot speak to the overall quality of this place, based on this single experience. But I think this probably was a very telling experience. I had a Cobb salad. My partner had the clam chowder. Both of these items were a hit. They make their own balsamic v, and chowder. The chowder was perhaps the best I've had.
