Wow wow wow was this place good! This little restaurant in downtown Astoria is amazing! When we walked in we were quickly greeted and seated. The sound of festive music played in the background. The smell of seasonings permeated the air. I knew we had made a great choice. I started with a bowl of smoked salmon soup. Thick and hearty. Well seasoned and balanced. It was a perfect start on the cool and misty evening. It came with a package of oyster crackers. My only note is that I wish the bowl was bigger! For my main meal I had shrimp lettuce wraps. I am actually not sure of the actual name on the menu. They were also well seasoned. The veggies and shrimp were cooked perfectly. The side of black beans were flavorful. Be sure to ask for the side of the salsa. It packs a nice little bit of heat. We actually had two small bowls of it with our food. REALLY tasty!!!! Our service got better as the meal went on. Initially we were helped by a lady who was nice and efficient. Later a man who had brought out the salsa was helping us out. We chatted a bit and promised to come back before we leave town. Highly recommended!!!

We stopped here before heading to Washington to continue our exploration of the Lewis & Clark National Park. It was our first time eating Nicuaguan food and it was delish!! We ordered the fritanga with Ling Cod , tacos, Uncle Tuts bowl with steaks. Salmon chowder and Mac n Cheese. Everything was good! I think everyone in my party cleaned out our plates. Since everything was pretty good, we decided to try the griddle lemon pound cake with blueberries sauce. We just ordered one to share bc everyone was already full. However, a single bite was not enough. LoL. However, we resisted on ordering more. I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant. It has excellent costumer service and great food. The price is also very decent.

Centrally located (in the former Drina Daisy space), Tres Bro's had received terrific reviews when we were looking for lunch. There's a nice waiting area near the entrance if you are looking for to-go yumminess, and a large side room off to the left, for sit down dining. We sat down to a spectacular Shrimp Ceviche and a Fritanga, which turned out to be a refined take on the old school platter that you might get at a Mexican restaurant. The Tres Bro's Nicaraguan variation had rice and whole beans topped with sour cream and Cotija cheese, a lovely piece of fish, picada (pico de gallo style salsa), sweet plantains, and a sizeable chunk of pan seared cheese!!! Service was attentive, but since the kitchen is located off the entry space, the staff isn't hovering, but instead discretely disappearing to tend to business elsewhere. I may have overemphasized the wonderful Fritanga just due to the number of items on the plate, so I want to close by saying that the Ceviche here was probably the best one I've ever had.

Fritanga with Ling Cod - Excellent!

This is my first visit here, but it won't be the last! Once upon a Time, I got to live in the Caribbean and sample the food - this is definitely it. Service is timely, everything is clean and makes you feel like you're sitting in a café on the beach. Really loved the queso Frito, haven't had anything like that in the northwest before. And finally, I don't know where they get their plantains, but I'm sure glad they do!

Stop deciding on what to eat and come straight here!!!! We came in for dinner tonight and it was incredible! Ordered the ensalada de pepino and the mahi mahi fritanga. The pepino was bright and fresh and the perfect starter to our meal. The fritanga was such a generous portion and so yummy. I could eat an entire plate of just the rice and beans alone. Service was great, staff was so friendly and attentive. Loved this place will definitely come back and recommend to anyone visiting Astoria.

Awesome food and service. It was a great atmosphere. Josh and his lovely wife do a great job. Try the scallop ceviche!

Great find! See the photos. Started with the smoked salmon chowder. Best ever. (Not gummy and GF). The shrimp was perfectly cooked and the cod super fresh. They made great tacos and lettuce wraps. Ran out of belly space for other stuff. Next time. BTW. Everything is GF

    Smoked salmon chowder!

'Smoked salmon chowder! 'Nothing better on a cold day and perhaps the best chowder in Astoria! Add a splash of their homemade habanero sauce for extra heat - - mmmm! So good!

Randomly came upon this restaurant walking around downtown Astoria. A few very satisfied customers came out of the restaurant singing praises for this place and convinced us to eat here. Food, service, and ambiance were utterly fantastic. 3 of our party ordered the Fritanga with ling cod and totally demolished our plates. To me, the plantains were especially delicious. Would recommend 100% and will definitely come back!

    Fresh scallop ceviche... Deliciouso!!

When I come to Astoria I usually eat at the Fish house... Grateful that it was closed, as It forced me to look for another place with fresh seafood... walked down the street and found this little place. I love Nicaraguan food and they had fresh fish along with many other mouthwatering dishes. I oredered the fresh scallop ceviche... it was so delicious! And a side of plantains, these were the sweetest most flavorful plantains I've ever had! What a great little place!! I loved it!

Oh. My. Word. My husband and I just tried Tres Bro's Nicaraguan Grill last night and were so pleased we did. We knew they had a successful food truck, but I am so happy they are now in a solid brick and mortar location. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable. You are greeted by an open kitchen, and it's the divine smells rising from that kitchen that makes you realize "this is going to be good"! Our server was a young man who has restored my faith for the younger generation. You can tell this family owned establishment is raising their boys well. He was friendly, informative, attentive, responsible and self-assured. Just an absolute delight. His brothers were equally kind and I enjoyed watching them assemble their Christmas tree. The chef and her husband both stopped by our table, as well, and that was also a nice touch. They should be proud of their boys and their product. The food? What can I say. Absolutely sublime. The Smoked Salmon Chowder is a show stopper. Don't miss out on a cup, or better yet, a bowl. The smoky creaminess was a welcomed warming appetizer for our main course. My husband got the Grilled Ling Cod, while I decided on the Chicken Fritanga. Suffice it to say, there was very little talking and more stuffing of faces at our table. They also use locally sourced products, which I love. You know you're getting the freshest and best. Well done! I believe we may have found our new favorite restaurant in Astoria. Wishing them immense success! We will be back!

Totally forgivable though #2) potatoes in bouillabaisse were so undercooked they were inedible. They made up most of the dish too. On the plus side, the broth and fish were well prepared. See photo #3) onions in the Hungarian mushroom soup were large, crunchy and near raw. #4) a main ingredient in my special salad was completely missing and it was impossible to find my wait person. Since there were few people dining I find this perplexing #6) we were never ONCE asked how things were, surprising especially since a manager knew of at least one misstep. No surprise after glancing at their menu, easily I could gravitate towards several of their sandwiches. Lots of merch and deli items are also available to select from. I ended up ordering a half pound of proscuitto (0.52 lb for $17.67). This was carefully sliced thin, packaged, and wrapped carefully, which was duly noted and greatly appreciated. We paused at window counter seats and had to sample the purchase before departing. Absolutely delicious! Helped elevate a meal the next day too. I may have to return to indulge in one of their Italian sandwiches. Update: we did return to dine onsite at the same window counter seats (6/22/25). The Homie had the Hot Meatball ($14). Meaty with zesty sauce. I had the Salami Panini ($12), which reminded me of a fave Italian panini at Irwin's Bakery & Cafe in Seattle. Both were fantastic, hit the spot, clean plate club worthy, and definitely no takeout boxes needed! Gaetano's Market & Deli, a terrific find in Astoria!

Because we were driving through on our road trip, we decided to make a stop here for a late lunch this last Tuesday afternoon, around 2:15 pm. After we parked, we walked inside and headed towards the salad bar/ hot bar food area. After looking around (there is also a counter that you can order made to order sandwiches and burritos), I ended up deciding to purchase the following: Peanut Chicken Sesame Noodle Salad, $8.99- This was quite a massive portion so I only ended up eating about 1/3 of it and then had the rest over the next few days (I ended up mixing it with some chopped cucumbers and tomatoes that I had to make a large salad). I loved the peanut sesame dressing and noodles in this salad but wished there was more chicken. Mayak Egg Noodle Bowl, $8.99- My husband picked this salad for himself but I didn't have any. He thought it was good and appreciated something fresh, as his bowl had shredded cabbage, like my salad, and cucumbers and shredded carrots. Pumpkin Pie, $6.99- My husband saw this small pumpkin pie and decided to get it because he is such a big fan of it. I actually don't like pumpkin as much as when I was much younger. But I did like this pie and thought the flavors were well balanced, not too overly sweet. ---------------------------------------- (Total= $24.97) I really appreciated that the little dining area (there is also an outdoor dining area as well but because it had rained previously, we opted to sit inside) had plastic bowls and plates available for you to put your food in. This was helpful for me to be able to thoroughly mix my noodle salad since the dressing was mostly on the bottom. Then after I mixed it, I just put it back in the plastic container and only left about 1/3 of the salad in my bowl to eat. If I lived in this area, I would definitely be a regularly of this market (specifically for the prepared food area).
