This golf course is beautiful! Went for an event that was held for Children's Cancer Network and the staff were great. The courses were beautiful and the view.... man oh man were the views absolutely stunning! The food was just ok but what lacked in taste made up for it in views! It was a great time and looking forward to going again. I was on the Raptor course so I didn't see the other side. But I will next time for sure. read more

Grayhawk Raptor was the second course we played during our boys golf trip. It was so much more enjoyable vs Boulders. First of all, we received waters before our round. Secondarily, we saw the cart girls twice on the front nine, and twice on the back nine. There was also a snack shack at the turn, altho we didn't get hot dogs. Lastly, our playing partners were really nice guys with good golf etiquette. As far as the golf course is concerned, it has much more character vs Boulders. There are more bends in the fairways, elevated greens and water. It is also much harder, as well as being longer. I didn't mind paying $332 bc it was worth it IMHO. If I am in the Scottsdale area again. I would like to play Grayhawk again. However, I need to come when it is cooler (I came in early Oct). It was unseasonably warm at 106F. read more

I use to eat at Quill Creek Cafe at Grayhawk. I went last night after a couple years off. I ordered my favoite dish the chicken pot pie. It was not the same as a couple years ago and I was extremely disappointed. It was half the size and priced much higher. I don't mind pricies excalating over time but to reduce the quaility is disappinting. I shoudl have just removed the top puff pastry and taken a picture. There was a a few chunks of shredded chicken VERY little carrots and peas, and vuitually no soup. It was a thin dry excuse for a pot pie. I hope they read this. If I try again I will take photos and post. for a $24 pot pie this was a poor poor offering. read more

The Grayhawk area in general is awesome. We lived here for a few years. Quiet, mostly retirees or small families. The golf club is no exception. I'm not a golfer by any means, but the courses are maintained exceptionally and are beautiful. The clubhouse is beautiful, lined with oak wood and friendly staff members. The restaurants aren't bad either! (Quail Creek Cafe or Phil's Grill). read more

Came here for an engagement. It was nice. It was suppose to be at isabellas kitchen but it was raining so they moved it indoors. The food was good. They also had appetizers but kinda small for like 8 people per table. The salami was cut really thick. We had chicken paramigiana with pasta and mash potatoes and chicken with mushrooms. Also ceaser salad and pita bread. They didn't close the venue down for the engagement party. While I was in the bathroom some girls were trying to get their friend to open the door cause she wasn't feeling well. They had to call for help. They got her out of the stall and there was a room in the bathroom to like lay down and she was there while her husband was holding her head to wake up. Apparently she was roofied at the bar. Be careful out there ladies! Thank goodness she was with a group and her husband. read more

The WORST management I have ever experienced at a golf course. For being such a highly regarded golf club, this place is poorly run. We booked a tee time at 3:30 pm and were told that we had 4 hours and 30 minutes to play our round. After hole 10, someone approached us and informed us that the course closes at 7:00. We were NEVER told this information before playing, and they turned the sprinklers on so that we could not finish our round. Zero accountability from anyone at this place. I highly recommend saving your money or playing a different track. The course isn't that special anyway. read more

This review is for the raptor course at Grayhawk. This is a really solid course. Perfectly manicured, excellent design by renowned architect Tom Fazio. The holes are not going to wow you on every tee box like Quintero but it is a really great course that plays very true. Greens, tee boxes, fairways are all in excellent shape. Challenging course but not overly difficult. The club house and practice area are first class. The only downside of our day was our cart died on the second hole and due to short staff on a Monday it took over 30 minutes for them to come rescue us. Other than that it was a perfect golf outing on a really great course. I highly recommend giving this course a try. read more

The course was a lot of fun and in good condition, the pace of play was decent. My only complaint is that once we turn the corner and teed off on hole 10 it started torrential down pouring with lots of lightning and thunder. We headed back to the clubhouse thinking we could get a rain check for just the back nine. For being such a prestigious course and the price we paid I thought they would be willing to accommodate as we didn't even get to finish Hole 10 or the back nine. We were told they wouldn't give us a rain check and our only option was to finish the back nine if we wanted. I'm surprised they would want us continuing to drive around on the wet course. In conclusion we will probably be back to play this course. I was just disappointed with their service. read more

I have played Grayhawk a few times now, both the raptor and talon side. Both are great golf courses that are usually in great shape compared to others in the area. My recent experience here though was terrible. I told the cart guys and the pro shop that I needed a handicap cart. I was told that they can't do that but it's not usually a big deal because their cart boundaries are generous anyway. Now there is a huge difference between "can't" and "won't". I've used a handicap cart or a GPS unlocked cart at dozens of different courses in many different states and this is the only course that has told me they can't. Again I know they can, they are just choosing not to. I'm not sure if they are just looking at me and thinking it doesn't look like he needs a handicap cart or there is something else but either way that's just not acceptable. I have stage 4 cancer and I have a difficult time walking certain distances or on uneven/hill like surfaces. I've been playing golf my entire life and respect and know enough about areas of the course where I'm not going to drive the cart somewhere to damage the course or cart...sometimes I just need to go a little past the cart line so I'm able to get to my ball without too much pain/difficulty. I've never had an issue at any other courses. I've even had some other places go over the top with customer service in my situation to make the round as great as possible. I know Grayhawk can choose to operate their carts however they would like and make their own rules for their own course but this was just highly disappointing. I was not able to finish my round and with how much I paid it was a bit of a let down. I've made multiple trips out here to play golf but next time I will probably choose one of the many other courses in the area that is more helpful in my situation. read more

While staying in Scottsdale this week, and I had the opportunity to stop by and golf Grayhawk golf club. It is a beautifully well-maintained and challenging golf course with tough greens. It is a long course with lots of long holes to play. The fairways were really well-maintained as well and very green, considering being in a desert I was super impressed. I really enjoyed playing here and will definitely come back again next time in the area. read more

Not sure who is rating this place anything less than 4 stars, at least. I see a lot of folks crying about course difficulty, yeah I DONT recommend this course for beginners. Both courses are target golf and quite difficult. Also, very expensive on season so I wouldn't waste your money if you aren't at least halfway decent. I give this place 5 stars, one of my favorite golf course in the Phoenix area hands down. Very challenging and so frustrating. The greens can be lighting fast, PGA level cuts at times but man when you get a birdie/par here you've earned it and it feels so good. read more

Beautiful dessert golf courses with excellent layout. Each hole has some unique characteristics. The grill at the clubhouse also serves decent food. The slight negatives are the aging golf cart and there are no GPS to help guide the shots; this is a course that course knowledge is crucial. The bag boys are also not very proactive with assistance if you've already tipped someone else. read more

Really disappointed in this club as they clearly favor out of town and older clientele over locals that live in the neighborhood surrounding the course. I come here at least once a week to do some pitching and putting since I live less than a mile away. I have never had any issue and always go out of my way to pick up any left over balls for the next person. Today I was reported to the proshop and was told I needed to leave the premises as their training area was "private" and not open to the public. Not only is there not anything stating on their website that this is the case, there is absolutely no signage that says this at the course ever. In fact their website says "open to all" at the very top. Very disappointing that a public golf course turns away those that actually live in the community. Do better read more

Grayhawk Golf Club is one of my favorite places to play. Regretfully, I don't live in close proximity and only infrequently have a chance to enjoy the two courses. If I am in the area and time is too short for golf, I always try and grab a drink and something to eat at one of the club's restaurants. My favorite spot is Phil's Grill. Informal, lots of leather and a great view of the course. They offer both inside and outside seating. On my last visit, I tried the Greyhawk Salad and a glass of Cabernet. It consisted of nicely spiced chicken, garden greens and angel hair pasta. The salad was accompanied by a nice peanut dressing. Really very good. Fun spot, particularly if you are a Phil Mickelson fan. read more

I traveled from a more temperate climate to Phoenix to see some friends. We booked a tee time at Grayhawk in the middle of the afternoon during the summer which we knew would be hot. After the third hole, we came up on a group of 7 golfers playing together. The pace of play became unacceptable. Worried about extended exposure to the sun and heat as a result of slow play, my friends and I decided to abandon the round after 9 holes and ask for a rain check for 9 holes. We were denied and told by a staff member "it's no secret that it's hot" which we understood, but we didn't know we would be playing an extremely slow round behind a group of 7. We weren't expecting anything for free, just to be able to play the 9 holes we had already paid for, but maybe not behind a group of 7. It's unfortunate we couldn't be given a little bit of grace for a situation not normally encountered. read more

We played behind a fivesome, and waited on nearly every shot. We couldn't believe this club allows fivesomes; nothing more than a money grab. This policy made for a long and miserable round. We played 5 highly rated courses in 6 days, and this course was by far the worst. read more

Grayhawk Golf Club - Girls trip to AZ. - Golf Near Me - Scottsdale, Arizona

Have had a stellar week of golf in Scottsdale - starting out with the short course at Mountain Shadow when we got in on Sunday - followed by Troon North Monday, and the Stadium course at TPC Tuesday .. Wednesday we played here at Grayhawk. The clubhouse, pro shop, facilities, carts, and course are just about immaculate. We had a great time, the only thing that completely soured our round was we were forced to pay a no-show penalty for our 3rd (booked a 3some came as a two). For all intents and purposes were in a 3BR airbnb and the trip was initially planned for 3 of us hence why I booked, all week, for 3 players - I wasn't just trying to get an open space so we could play alone (even though we prefer to and honestly when your paying well north of $100 for the round should be able to). To add insult to injury the 4th spot of our original booking had been sold, so not only as 2 did we have to pay 1.5 times as much to play, if we elected to keep our original tee time we'd have been paired with a single - geezer most likely. So the guy at the pro shop was kind enough to work with me and move us from 9:03 to 9:57, so we could play alone. We were able to, which that was the silver lining of having to pay so much, but the pace was slow as dog shit and we had to deal with much more oppressive heat because we started an hour later. At TPC and Troon which are arguably more trafficked we had no problem getting out as 2 even though they tried pairing us with singles both times. Both of those were wide open - we never really had to wait to tee off and never felt like anyone was waiting on us, and we got through super quickly - nothing but geezer members here who slam the tee times up from 6am-10am, Wednesday was the busiest day we saw at any of the golf courses, go figure, right smack in the middle of the week. Highly recommend TPC and Troon, I wont ever come back to Grayhawk. read more

The waitstaff is absolutely amazing. Doing everything in their power to touch tables and make sure everything is running smoothly. The food- also really really good! I have to say- never in my life have I met more rude hostesses though... I've done the job I know the requirements we are also really aware of the trials and tribulations that arise in the service industry so I understand on a busy night how things go; however, walking up to a hostess desk where you're waiting for them to finish their conversations with each other just doesn't reach the expectations this place deserves. That's why this place is getting three stars. And that reason only. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! PLEASE, choose another venue! After reading the many positive reviews, visiting Grayhawk Golf Club in person and feeling extremely comfortable with our contact, Lauren Watson, my daughter and her fiance decided to have their wedding there. We were told many things before the contract was signed that Lauren ended up reneging on. Once we had the tasting, Lauren started getting very sassy. Here are a few 'highlights' to give you the idea. * Lauren told us that the golfers would be stopped during the ceremony. In reality, we have a golfer yelling "fore" for all to hear and golfers in the background throughout the entire ceremony * Lauren told us that they had the ability to have two weddings a day but that they would be at different times. In reality, there were three weddings and the music from one of the weddings drowned out our harpist and most importantly, the vows. * The poor florist... one of the venue's staff members directed the florist to the wrong WEDDING. ALL of the floral arrangements were set up only to have to be taken down and re-set up in the proper location. This caused delays with the picture taking, where guests ended up seeing the bride before walking down the aisle. *Oh, picture taking; we were told that we could take pictures anywhere on the golf course and that they would work with the photographer. . Lauren even showed us 'ideal' locations. In reality, the golf pro and his staff ran us off the course and yelled at us multiple times. Therefore, NO sunset pictures and many missed family pictures. *We were told by Lauren that she would be there until the dinner was served. This did not happen. We were also told that she would handle day of items. We reconfirmed this when we signed the contract or I would have hired a day of coordinator. She assured us that it was not necessary. * The one item that they did not fail on, was the food. It was absolutely delicious!! It is understood that there are always hiccups when planning and executing events. Typically, no one notices these hiccups. Unfortunately, in this case, everyone noticed. This very special day has been ruined and cannot be done over. So very sad to have the bride cry as the result of these mishaps. All we wanted was what we were told would happen, nothing more, nothing less. read more

Got the pleasure to play Grayhawk's Raptor course on 06/12/17. We had a 0630 tee time to beat the heat. We got there a little early, so being the tourists we were, we had some time to look around and take some photos. Hello green Rolex clock tower. After settling in, we warmed up on their complimentary driving range. When it was time, one of the staff came over and told us that we were next up on the tee box. With our luck, it was just my buddy and I. The field was practically ours. I wouldn't call Raptor true desert, target golf. The fairways were forgiving enough that you had some room for error off the tee boxes. What I appreciated the most about Raptor on that day was the condition the course was in. Everything was nicely groomed and green. The greens were rock solid; I had a few approach shots with my wedge and it barely even made a divot. Because of this, the greens were pristine. There were hardly any divots or dimples around. Our putts were rolling true. It did help that we were one of the first groups out on the day too. Speaking about the greens, this is where I found Grawhawk Raptor to be most challenging. Everything leading up to the green on each hole was pretty much straight forward. Not too many dog lefts or rights or dramatic elevation changes. The field was mainly straight and flat. With the exception of a few fairway bunkers or purposely positioned trees to make your golf life a little challenging. Other than that, the hard part was around the greens. If you missed your shot onto the green, you may be sitting way below and having to take a high lofted wedge to come back up onto the green. Greens were like floating islands in the sky, you definitely do not want to miss it or you'll be rolling down. There were a good number of greenside bunkers to consider as well. Do look out for false fronts and multi tiers. I didn't notice any water hazards until the 18th hole on Raptor. I actually loaded my bag up with golf balls thinking I would lose quite a few and to my surprise, that didn't really happed. Raptor wasn't as difficult as I would have imagined it to be but nevertheless, it was a great first course warm us up for our Scottsdale golfing trip. The round was about $80 pp (low summer season) and a big thanks to the staff serving us on the course. They gave us pointers and took care of our equipment for us. We got through Raptor in about 3.5 hours and were off the course before any triple digit weather was casted upon us. I'd would like to come back to try Grawhawk's Talon course next time and see the differences between the two courses. Hopefully, we would have more luck on our side and get to meet the great, Paige Spiranac since I heard this is her home course. We even gave her a shout out on IG but she never got back. Played here twice over the last weekend and the course was enjoyable. However, left a terrible taste in my mouth when I came back to my cart one day after wrapping up to grab my magnetic range finder I left and the bag boys "found nothing" (it was not lost I knew I had it on the cart and went back to the same cart). I've unfortunately heard and seen this before but make sure you grab your belongings after the round. Tipping them $5 a bag each day wasn't enough I guess. All management would do is take my name and number - never heard back. Just like that I'm out a $300 range finder because I went back to the car too quickly... read more

Planned our daughters wedding April 2022 at Grayhawk Golf Club. I can not say enough good things about the vendor and event coordinator Lauren for all they did for us. Lauren was always available to help, and made sure to explain everything thoroughly about what to expect day of, and made our daughters day unforgettable! We are so grateful to the staff for making our family's day so special and going above and beyond to make everything go amazing! Beautiful venue and location! I can honestly say I have absolutely zero complaints about the venue, food, staff, or location. Everything was perfect! Not only do I suggest to host your wedding here, but I highly recommend!
