I gave the dentist the diagram Grayson Pediatric Dentist had given me with the two teeth marked as cavities. After close examination, new dentist determined the two teeth were just stained and not cavities. read more

We went to this office and they said my son needed oral sedation and had 2-3 cavities. We went elsewhere to be evaluated for oral sedation and they said he did not need oral sedation and only had one cavity. We tried to go back to this place for just a filling and they said they wouldn't because the dentist already said he needed oral sedation. Not a good experience. On the positive they recommended MI paste which helped his teeth a lot. So thanks for that suggestion! read more

I am a teenager who's insurance switched not to long ago and had to change dentists. I personally wanted to leave a review just to say this place is absolutely fucking awful. For one they don't let your parents back with you doesn't matter the age, I am 15 but I naturally wanted to have a parent back with me because it's a new place and all. When I went back there, there was at least 20 other kids piled into one tiny room and the only thing to sit on was a hard wooden bench. I was only there for a cleaning and I had to wait for nearly 3 hours. They didn't inform me of what they were going to do, they just went ahead and did it. They ended up doing useless sealants on my teeth (I literally had them done less than 2 years ago at my previous dentist) I had no say in anything, it felt rushed as well, the doctor took one look at my mouth and said I needed sealants. There was barely any staff there, maybe a total of like 3 or 4 working there. Currently having issues with the sealants, they overfilled my teeth and now I can't get floss in between my teeth and now I have to go back. I'm also having immense jaw and tooth pressure. Terrible timing too since it's presidents day on Monday and nobody is open on Sundays. All in all, an awful place, they have terrible scheduling, kind of shady and unprofessional. I feel this place is not really interested in the care of your child. It's about claiming cavities and collecting cash. I cannot recommend this place. My child went for a cleaning and I really don't think they was any cleaning done! Don't go here. Find another dentist. When you leave they don't even put together a small bag or treat for the child. PLEASE DO NOT take your child here for their dental care!!! I took my 5 year old son here for his initial appt. I was told that he had a cavity and a broken tooth, which needed immediate treatment in order to prevent an abscess/infection. I was quoted $1,400 to cover the cost of sedation and a crown for the broken tooth. The option to extract the tooth was also discussed. Due to the suggested procedure(s) and associated costs, I decided to take him to another dentist for a second opinion. Not a single cavity and no broken tooth!! To think that I would have subjected my son to unnecessary pain and had work done on perfectly good teeth infuriates me!!! I called Dr. P's office today (March 4th) and was told by Jessica that they would "look into it" and call me back. I'm not concerned with having them explain away what appears to be a money making scheme. The dentist has total disregard for her little patients and her actions clearly are malpractice (at the least). I plan on reporting this situation to several agencies. I don't understand how a pediatric dentist office is only open during school hours and their saturdays there's always a wait list. I go through the scheduling headache every yr with them & when I take the latest appointment they call me constantly leading to to the appointment trying to get me to come in earlier. I really don't understand it! Today I told the young lady on the phone I'm going to have to find a new dentist because I just went through this schedule headache with my youngest & she said "no problem I'll deactivate your account" no apology, not trying to work with me nothing!!!! read more

I made an appt and wasn't sure if my insurance was accepted here. The phone number for my insurance (Humana) wasn't working when I called and the girl I made my appt with said she would have the coordinator call and check and call me back if they didn't.... fast fwd to my appt, I show up with my kids and I'm told they don't accept my insurance. They told me they tried calling me several times to let me know but I received no phone saying this... I did however receive a phone call from a Jessica reminding me of my upcoming appt. The fact that I received one call to confirm but not the other is fishy to me and I will not be going back now. Also, for a pediatric dentistry, the waiting room offers nothing to occupy the kids... maybe we were spoiled by our last pediatric dentist, but my kids had fun waiting there. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE!! After my wife and I took our son to another provider due to him complaining of a tooth ache, the provider recommended a tooth extraction. Unfortunately there was an issue with our insurance and we found Grayson Pediatric Dentistry as an in network provider. When I took my son for his appointment, I repeatedly asked them would he need the tooth extracted? They said, "no, he's fine. The x-rays were negative." Well after just a few days, my son complained of the pain coming back and when I called these folks, they said, "well Dr. Asha wouldn't feel comfortable extracting the tooth and you would need to go somewhere else, possibly Atlanta!" So after expressing EXTREME frustration about them not telling me this from the get go, my wife and I called around to find another provider. Now here it is Sunday night and my son has an appointment on tomorrow morning and the abscess is back, he's been in pain all weekend and Grayson Pediatric Dentistry was absolutely good for nothing! I am warning all parents, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE! I am outraged that we did not get correct information or even were told that in the event of an extraction, Dr. Asha wouldn't do it. That would have prepared us to find another provider BEFORE my son's symptoms cMe back if he experienced pain. I am outraged to have needed to scramble to find him a provider and again, this young lad has an abscess that has returned when he went in for treatment from the get go. read more

Please do NOT bring your child to this dentist. Dr. Asha "misdiagnosed" ALL 3 of my children. I was told that child 1 needed SIXTEEN fillings, child 2 needed 1 filling and child 3 needed 2 fillings. I was also told that child 3 needed oral sedation and that if I didn't want to do that then They would put a weighted blanket on him and if he raised his hand they would give him a shot to sedate him. I was also told that I could not be in the office during any of my children's treatments. Today I went and got a second opinion and really only CHILD 1 needed ONE filling and children 2 and 3 didn't need ANY fillings. I reported Dr Asha to the board of dentistry for trying to fraud my insurance saying my children needed work that they did not need. My children would have had irreversible damages to their teeth.. pain and suffering. read more

When my husband brought my son to this dentist, we were believing that he would need a tooth extraction because he had just been on antibiotics for an abscess. After xrays were done, we were told that he would not need the extraction and to just do a salt water rinse. The dentist said if our son developed pain again to call immediately. Well he did, and so we called. We were told that the dentist did not feel comfortable removing the tooth, and that he would need to be referred out. We would never have brought him to this dentist if we thought for a second she wouldn't be able to help our son. Now the abscess is back and we have an appointment tomorrow elsewhere, but it should never have come to this. I'm frustrated and angered at the time that has been wasted. Do your kids a favor and keep them away from there. read more

We will not be coming back. Idk what form of medical fraud they're pulling. They weren't exactly happy I went into the back with my kids. I never saw dentist. When it got time to leave the dentist had an employee come after us try to pull my daughter to get teeth pulled. With out my consent. We're on medicade. They don't cover the amount of fillings and teeth being pulled. They wanted to pull 8 teeth out my daughters mouth. Pull 6 teeth out my youngest daughter mouth. Several root canals and fillings. They gave me a sheet of paper with all the work to be done. Refused to show me the x-rays. Gave me attitude about it acted like I was stupid. They wanted to charge us for a prior visit for blanket that was used. My daughter thought it was odd I wasn't with them when they saw the dentist. The last place my kids went to my mom without my knowledge had them removed and started going to this dentist. I was suspicious the moment we walked in. I thought they were still at there old dentist that I loved. Nope shocked to see this place when we pulled up. Something is very off with this place. We left. Don't bring your kids here!!! On Facebook you can't even leave a review on there page. It's all 5 star reviews only that are seen. You have to go to other sites for the real reviews. read more

I really liked the hygienist here. She was great. As far as the dentist I want overly impressed. I felt I was rushed and she didn't spend very much time answering any of my questions. Took my 6 year old grandson to have 2 fillings. The receptionist was pleasant enough and they called him back right on time. They gave him laughing gas and allowed me to go back while they administered the gas but had me leave while they did the fillings. The have a blur blanket that they use for kids that may not stay still but they did not need to use it on my grandson. After they finished, the dentist called us back to explain what they did and gave after care instructions. My grandsons only complaint seems to be that he is numb and wanted to eat right away. I would say all in all that it was as pleasant as it could be for a dental appointment. read more

The staff is friendly enough, however, the dentist seems to rush through explaining any important details. Upon checking out at last visit they claimed that my 5 year old was going to need over $200 worth of work done for "cavities". They claimed that my daughter had a cavity on a tooth that she doesn't even have!! Whhaatt?!? When asked to explain what in the world she was talking about, the girl had to leave and ask someone. When she came back she said something along the lines of "oops..it looks like that was a mistake and it will actually be covered completely by insurance." Horrible business in my opinion. The whole situation seemed extremely sketchy to me and I will never bring my little one back there. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere for another dentist. read more

I just want to leave a review. It is a one star review. Two of my children have been here many times for cleanings and never had problems. The office stay is great and the hygienist is very nice. When my son had a cavity and I wasn't allowed back every since he cries at the word dentist. He said they did bad things to him. I am livid that a place of comfort for him is a terror now. I don't know what was done to him but I am making my review public in every place I can. We now go to another dentist who allows children and parents to be together through all procedures. I think someone needs to look into the treatment of children when the doors are closed and parents aren't allowed. I'm very concerned. My child's filling has just fell out only a yr old filling and lucky for us we have a new dentist. Please for the safety of the children allow the parents and follow up on the treatment of the children. I have heard from other mothers who children use to go there that they also had similar problems only when a procedure is done and parents aren't allowed. Even my kids pediatrician asked where the kids go to and the dentist and when I said I don't take them to you anymore without an explanation and she said good and that she doesn't recommend y'all since she hears to many complaints. read more

My daughter is 4. They don't like you to go into the rooms with them. This made me feel very uncomfortable and my daughter wouldn't let go of my hand so they agreed I could go back to the room with her. The doctor said she had a cavity and explained they use laughing gas and a "safety blanket" which is the Papoose board that straps down the children. They didn't even offer to show me the X-ray's. I had to ask. Then I had to wait 15 minutes for the doctor to show them to me. I had a weird feeling and took my daughter for a second opinion the same day. The second dentist said they didn't see any cavities and there was no need for her to get a filling. What dentist tries to give a 4 year old a filling!! Not to mention strapping her down on that board. She likes going to the dentist right now. I'm not trying to scare her and then she'll never want to go again. We had to get a new pediatric dentist due to a long distance move. After one visit, we will not be returning. The staff is somewhat rude and snotty. They call several hours before your appointment to ask you to come sooner (clearly someone wanted to leave early), then aren't all that pleased when you say no. The dr herself rushes through an exam and is not personable at all. But the final straw was when I attempted to schedule a filling for my son and was flat out told they do not allow parents in the room during any procedures. Their excuses for such a policy were ridiculous. Perhaps if I had met these people for more than 10 minutes, I might have been more amenable. I would have with my old dentist. After having a phenomenal pediatric dentist before our move, I am plainly aware of just how terrible this office really is. read more

Very unhappy. Had to find a new dentist. This practice has decided they don't see patients anymore before 10am. It doesn't matter that they already made an appointment before 10am they called to reschedule and wouldn't honor the appointment made months in advance. In fact they called me 3 different times to reschedule the same appointment cause they couldn't get a dentist there at the time they had an appointment for my child. I've been going for three years and no problem. Now they can't make appointments or keep appointments. read more

They are always on time. The hygienist is exceptional and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The Dr always takes the time to go over xrays and go over all treatment options in detail. They will always be recommended by me. read more

I'm brought my 3 children for a check up. They are very rude and my 2 year old was treated like she was a brat because she was scared to death because they have no bedside manner with children! I was then told my 12 year old had 4 cavities! When asked to see the pricing sheet I questioned them because she had a filling just 6 months prior at or old dentist for 1/3 of the cost, they assured me it was right. I then got on with my insurance while at their office and put insurance on speaker so everyone could hear that they were indeed over charging based on the maximum billable amount per tooth that they have with my insurance company. They also wanted to charge me for a "safety" blanket so my daughter wouldn't attack the dentist while getting the fillings.... She was 1 month shy of 13 and has had fillings before but they said it wasn't optional. I choose to go elsewhere and get a second opinion because I had a gut feeling and knew they were overcharging for the fillings and low and behold my daughter had 1 cavity not 4!! Crooks!! And she got it filled with no laughing gas and without the stupid Safeway blanket and surprise didn't attack anyone! Do not go here! read more

They changed my son's appointment twice without asking. When I called to confirm I was put on hold four times each for over five minutes. When I called back the fifth time and was asked to hold I said no explaining that I kept getting left on hold. The girl hung up on me. I called back and cancelled his appointment and will go,elsewhere. They are rude and unprofessional. Don't go there. read more

I take both of my boys here and have always had a great experience. The staff is friendly and welcoming, as well as patient with my children. My oldest just had an extraction there recently and didn't even realize they had pulled a tooth. He actually said that he had a great time and cannot wait to come back. My 3 year old gets very nervous and around doctors, but had always been able to complete his cleanings and exams here with no tears. I enjoy the smaller practices because I feel that they are more personable, and this is a fantastic example as to why. read more

If I could do a review for 0 stars, I would. I took my son here a few months ago, and I would never go back, and would encourage others not to do so. My son is Deaf, and they seemed that they would be accommodating for me to interpret for him. They allowed me to go back for his cleaning, and the staff there was nice, but the doctor was not personable at all. They told me that he had 4 cavities. When I went to schedule the cavities, the doctor told me, very argumentatively I might add, that I would not be allowed in the room during the procedure. They also told me that an interpreter would not be allowed in the room during the procedure, which is ILLEGAL! The doctor then told me that I needed to send him to someone else for the procedure, so they could put him under while they work on him. My son is not anxious at all at the dentist, so I felt the only reason they needed him to be asleep is because he is Deaf, but the doctor wouldn't come out and say that to me. I was furious, but I let it go and decided to try a new dentist. I took him to a new dentist today, and those 4 cavities they wanted to fix were merely stains, and he has no cavities AT ALL! They were going to drill into 4 of my son's perfectly healthy teeth, and it probably would have been a traumatic experience at that! read more

My daughter had an appointment last Friday. I previously told the receptionist that I did not want my daughter to have laughing gas. I feel like I was begin forced to get laughing gas because she then stated oh the doctor will talk with you about the laughing gas. Keep in mind my daughter is 12 and had not used laughing gas since she was 7 years old. Long story short I refused the gas the doctor came out and tried to encourage me to get it, I did not. She goes back there numbs my daughter up and start to work. She then comes out saying my daughter was anxious and really needed the gas or I would have to take her some where else. I agreed only because she had already begun to drill in my daughter mouth. Which by the way I was told was a small filling. If you are not a fan of laughing gas please do not take your children here. I honestly feel like the doctor prefers to work with gas and will not do it any other way. Needless to say I will not take my daughter back to the office. read more

Just another person who is super unimpressed with this practice & Dr. Asha Ponugoti. The reason I took my toddler to a pediatric dentist rather than a regular dental practice (when most will see toddlers) is because I thought the environment would be more welcoming & calmer for young children. Instead, I feel like this place does not practice any additional patience or kindness for their young patients. One would think you'd see super smiley, upbeat personalities & a fun, entertaining lobby with toys at a pediatric dental practice. Sadly, that is not the case. There are no child-friendly books or toys to keep young children entertained while they wait in the lobby. Instead, they have one television set with a blurry image. (In fairness, there does seem to be a separate lobby with entertaining things for older children, but not kids under 5 yrs. old.) The only way to describe the two visits I had here is "rushed, rushed, rushed." The hygienist did not try to warm up to my son or make him feel at ease before probing in his mouth. Instead, I was told, "Hold him on your lap & have him lean backwards into mine." Seriously?! There was no greeting. No overview for what we were about to do. No extra time put in to try to make my toddler feel at ease. Just "Bam! Open your mouth." Of course, this did not go over well. My son started screaming, & I felt super stressed, but I thought the actual dentist would make coming to this place worth it. Nope. The two interactions I've had with Dr. Ponugoti have left me far from impressed. She speaks rather quickly with a pretty heavy accent and does not make things easily understandable. Even when asked direct questions, I felt her answers left much to be desired. There was no elaboration, no explanation as to the why. Basically, I just feel a specialized dental practice such as this should make the parent feel there is a reason for having a separate dentist for your child. I expected to feel calmer & more reassured about the concerns I had, but instead, I felt more confused & anxious about some of my son's teething issues. I am definitely seeking a different dental practice & would advise others to do the same. read more
