I see the reviews are mixed about Graystone but we've been here twice and we've enjoyed it both times. It's pub food but I think it's good food. The first time we had fish fry and the second time we had a salad a their Authentic Philly sandwich. The salad was tasty and on the Philly, the meat was real prime rib shaved nice and thin and it filed the roll. Cheese, onions etc...It had a lot of flavor. We are planning to go back and enjoy their outdoor patio this summer on Wed nights when they have live music. The waiter was also really attentive without being pushy or interrupting. Ask for Jordon and he will take good care of you. read more

Has the cuban, which was a bit different as it wasn't on pressed bread but a soft cabiatta, which was fantastic actually. The chips and onion dip are a must too. The chips by themselves were a tad bland, but over all very clean and nice looking place with good food read more

My husband and I have been there quite a few times and truthfully only go there for the beer. The selection is usually pretty good. As far as the food goes, we find it overpriced and not very good. We used to order the nachos but it was taken off the menu a long time ago. We actually go to a different restaurant after having a few beers there. Recently the service has been a little better, but it was horrible originally. One of the bar staff actually said to us, "you're not the only people here, you know" when we asked for some more beer. We were speechless. After that it took us months to return, and since going back, we haven't seen him, thankfully. They still have a LONG way to go to deliver what I would consider good service. read more

My friend and i wanted to get a late bite at Bleu, but since they were closed, we went to Graystone instead. Overall, a pretty "meh" experience. Service was perfectly friendly, but food was not great. I had the salmon, which came out pretty dry. My friend had a cobb salad. She ate it, but said it was bland. I was considering the wings, and after reading another review that said they're great, I wish I'd gotten those! If i was going to watch some sports, i think I'd enjoy. But just for a dinner, next time I'll try for Bleu again. read more

Don't let the name fool you, Graystone ale house is really an upgraded version of The Bar, which isn't a bad thing. It is owned by the same people. The outside is nice looking and the inside, while it does resemble the layout of The Bar, everything has been upgraded, nicer fixtures, seating, bar area, etc. They do have a great selection of beers on tap, everything from peroni to hinterland and even central waters. Even better, between 3 and 6 they offer domestic tap and bottles for 2 bucks and craft beers and a handful of cocktails with premium liqour (like Jim beam and absolute) for just three bucks. Service is very good (we were sitting at the bar). As far as the food, it's average, typical bar stuff.... They could do a few things to improve some selections, but overall the food is decent. First visit burgers all around. Cooked right, tasty and the pretzel bun was soft and a nice addition. The service was okay, slow but with a smile and our server got it all right. I loved Graystone. We went on friday during lent for their fish specials. They had quite a variety of fish special options, not just fried cod or walleye. I had the fried cod and it was delicious. Not over fried, perfectly moist. We also had the poutine, a variation from traditional poutine, but absolutely fantastic. Our waitress was great and attentive to our needs. read more

For $86 for 3 people (we each had 2 beers), it was not worth the price. Service was ok and the food was sub average. We got charged $1.99 extra for a salad which should have been included with a steak dinner or at least the waitress should have mentioned the upcharge. Drove a little further the next night and ate at Mill Home Supper Club in Kiel. We had an extra person in our party and the bill came to $68 with a great salad bar included. Not worth the money but the beer selection is great. read more

I'm adding an update to my review, because I'm sick of being disappointed by this place, and I don't want others to be as well. We are done going here, as every time we go, we are very disappointed with the food and the price. We went last night. My husband ordered a brandy old fashioned sweet. They charged an extra $0.50, because it was "sweet". I ordered wedge fries instead of the regular fries, and it was an additional $1.49. Their food is NOT worth the price that they charge. Every time we have gone here, we have had regrets about doing so. Last night's dinner was $50, and it was definitely not worth that at all. I have wanted to like this place since it's close to home, but we're done trying to like it. read more

It's pretty good for bar type food and they have a decent size and variety menu despite a recent reduction of the menu. They do burgers the best in my opinion and have a good Friday fish fry. The service has always been very good, whether it's the waiters or bartenders. Service speed is about average; lunches are usually very quick and dinners can take a little longer. Kid's menu is limited as is just about every restaurant, but my kids do like it there. The host/hostess is always good about getting the kids pictures to color. For bar food, it is a little pricey. $10 a burger is on the high side if you ask me, but they do have lots of options for different buns, cheese, and add-ons. Friday fish fry for perch is about $13 a plate. They have a great tap beer selection or your usual domestics to craft beers. Their craft beer cooler is is great for trying out something new. I've also done their large group room for a wedding party, and have had good success with good waiter/waitress service and good food for a group of 20 or more. read more

We used to go here quite often. We are part of there "mug club" which for like $30 provides a free beer once a month. We enjoy the wings which are superb, the burgers are good and the pizza is above average. Outside of those meal selections you are risking fate. They typically have a great draft and beer section, which is the primary reason we go back. They have beer takeovers with a different brewery focus once a month. I have tried this place 3 times now. I have sworn I will not return 3 times. This is it! It is an easy 5 minutes from our house but and the parking lot is never empty during open hours, but if good food is what you are looking for, look elsewhere. I live within walking distance of Graystone, and if I wasn't so close I may never come here at all. The food is consistently Ok but not great by any means. The only thing off of the menu that I have tried that I can honestly say is great is the fried chicken dinner. The boneless wings are decent, and the appetizers are good. I like their mozzarella sticks which are made with won ton wrappers. I came here with my daughter last night and ordered a burger (Swiss mushroom on a pretzel bun) and it was literally the dryest burger I have ever had in my entire life. Luckily the server was extremely nice and accommodating and insisted on having the kitchen re-make it for me. The second time it was cooked about medium well, but still kind of dry, especially the bun. I couldn't fault her for it but it was disappointing as I make much juicier and better tasting burgers at home. I feel like this place is in such a prime location and it is such a nice atmosphere on top of it. They should revamp their entire menu and bring in higher quality ingredients or a new head chef or something to improve from just good to amazing. I'm willing to bet if they had more competition over here they would lose business. Besides Chicago Street Pub and maybe Mr Brews Taphouse we don't have much within an ear shot. Went here on a Sunday night to have a quick bite to eat. The hostess didn't even greet us while she looked directly at us as we walked in. Sat at the bar, waited a bit for our food. The food came out finally and it was not amazing but we ate it since we were starving. We both had the burritos. I wasn't very impressed. We finished our food and waited about 10 minutes to finally get our check after we had finished our meal. Our bartender was waiting on other guests. We then asked if there was military discount and she said I don't know let me check. She asked the manager at that was sitting at the bar drinking if there was and he then said no. So veterans don't bother going to this establishment and not very professional to have the manager sitting at the bar with friends. I do like the decor and it was very nice inside but other than I give this place a one star. read more

We went out for a "nice" Mother's Day dinner on May 12. There were 5 adults and 4 small children. First off, our waiter, Daniel N. offered us the prime rib special which 3 of us ordered. Oooops, they were out of Prime rib!..This was around 5:00 in the afternoon! and they were out of the special already. So we ordered other items. The food was ok...nothing to write home about. The children's meals came with milk and ice cream for dessert. We had to ask Daniel SEVERAL TIMES for the children's milk and then again at the end of the meal for the ice cream! We also had to ask for other things that we needed but I don't really remember everything..needles to say service was lacking. At bill time, since it was Mother's Day dinner, one son asked for me to be put on their bill and the other son was going to pay for my husband but Daniel screwed that up too. My husband and I got our own bill which we just decided to pay. HERE COMES THE GOOD PART! We paid with our Discover Card. and since the service was sub-par I told my husband to just leave a 15% tip (I usually tip closer to 20%). The bill came to $42.68 and my husband left a $6.50 tip coming to $49.18. Low and behold, when my Discover bill came, we were charged $51.18!!!! (also, what my husband didn't take notice of on the bill, we were charged for 2 pints of Malibu instead of a pina colada and an iced tea both at $5.00). Needless to say, I was a bit miffed when I got my Discover bill..not because of the $2.00 overcharge per se but because I believe we were being ripped off!! So I called on June 8. When told the manager was out, I left my name and phone# for a call back. Hmmmm...never came. I called back 4 days later and asked to talk to the manager. I got manager Andrea on the phone and explained the situation and that it wasn't about the money (it was only $2.00 after all) but that I thought she should be aware of possible skimming by employees. First she looks up the receipt which was somewhat insulting since why would I lie about $2.00 and not even want it returned, but I understood that she felt she had to. When she said, yes it should have been $49.18 (no duh!) she offered to send my the $2.00 in the mail. I responded that I didn't want the $2.00 back but I wanted her to check on her employees so that this same thing would not happen to other customers. After going back and forth and letting her know that I and my party had no intention of ever going back and would probably be giving bad reviews SHE OFFERED ME A $25 GIFT CARD! Notice, I said SHE OFFERED... I told her it was not necessary several times yet SHE INSISTED. She took my name and address and told me it would be in the mail that afternoon. Well, here it is June 27 AND i'M STILL WAITING! Over 2 weeks...even snail mail is not that slow. go figure..... Stay away from this place at all costs!!!!! read more

For some reason, the staff always seems to be annoyed that customers are in their restaurant. Even for carry out. Stopped in, told the greeter, who seemed very busy holding up his podium, that I had a carry out order. He responded with such care while merely pointing to the bar and saying only "at the bar". I took that to assume that's where I must go without any assistance from him to get my order. Then it really got fun. Stood there attempting to get noticed by the inattentive bar staff who spent their time talking and continuing to wait on the customers already sitting at the bar. I waved, I jumped, I flashed my credit card, and even tried a quick dance before a bartender finally was kind enough to look at me and say "yes??" Oh...so kind of you. I need my food. Finally...I got my food. And it was not at all worth this frustration and wait. 1) find a better wait for your customers to get their carry out without having to fend for themselves at the bar 2) teach your bartenders to be attentive beyond the customers at the bar with wads of cash sitting in front of them 3) make the food worth the wait. I really wanted to like this place.... But it was terrible. It started as 20 minute wait with over a dozen tables open... Ok fine we can just get a drink an wait at the bar.. NOT. Waited at the bar without being greeted or served our entire wait time. Mind you it was not busy. Finally got sat and drinks took another 8 minutes. Ordered our food and an appetizer. The appetizer came out another 25 minutes later after people sat after us were already served their meals. When we finally got our meal and surprise surprise... It was wrong. Wow. Complete disappointment. Horrendous service ok food which is overpriced for what you get anyway. Stay away. read more

I am delighted with the Graystone's attempt to provide a good sampling of craft beers. However, the service leaves a great deal to be desired. I was there this afternoon. There were several other patrons at the bar. There was one bartender(?) and two other employees/ manager at the bar. The beer list was wrong- many of the beers listed were no longer on tap- and the bartender seemed clueless. Anther patron asked out loud" do I have to get my own beer?" To no avail. It still took 5 or 10 minutes for him to be served. I just returned from San Diego where the people who work at beer bars are trained to know what they are selling. Graystone, if you want to be a craft beer bar you need to do more than offer a lot of beers. read more

I would really like this place, I keep giving it chances but it keeps failing. Today just like we have done in the past we go to Graystone to give it another chance but what happens it fails again. First the food, we got the pizza special and it was not good $9 for a piece of toast with barely any toppings. It used to be much better. Second the service. Waitresses who are not well kept are not a good sign, then they question why we want the umbrella up on our table. Then they never came back to check on us, so I had to ask another waitress for a beer, but she did not return. While waiting another got up and left as the same waitress we had never returned for them either. I hate giving low tips. But I will not tip for crappy services. Graystone could be great but they keep dropping the ball. Jess please clean up your place it is a shame the poor services this place keeps giving patrons. read more

Don't waste your time. I had a burger and the meat was gray and tasteless. Really disgusting and it was topped with re-hydrated onions. If you want a great burger in De Pere, try Bilotti's Italian on Broadway. They make a real fine burger. read more

The pizza here is pretty reliable, but not much else. I've ordered a salad for $$ and it was mostly boring (and not very healthy) bagged iceberg lettuce. We have also ordered take out for Friday fish, and got home to realize they had only given one one order of perch even though we ordered and paid for two. Very disappointing end to our night. We stopped here for a beer and something to eat before heading home. They were busy and we found spots at the bar so we decided to sit there. Things started out ok but by the end of our time there things were not so good. We sat for 10 minutes with empty glasses and plates in front of us. The kicker was there was at least 10 staff members standing next to us. I kid you not 10. I got to the point where I was raising my hand and waving to get someone's attention and still nothing. Don't even get me started on this place. Everything is bar food, literally. The Bar owns this place and Haggermeister Park. The servers are all dinky 15 year olds who have no idea how to multitask and prioritize and the food sits in the window for ages because it is rubbery and the buns are hard. They run out of food all the time. A place like that should not be playing top 40 music either. The identity is very confusing, try some 90s rock or classical rock, not Rihanna.
