We had an amazing experience at Stone Arch! The venue, which is an old stone building, is charming and cool. They have an upstairs tap room, an arcade, and a bar and restaurant downstairs. The service was all-around incredible. The employees were warm, friendly, and professional, and they seemed to know exactly how often to check in without interrupting our meal. They spaced out our drinks, appetizers, and entrees just the right amount. Our server Andrew was particularly great. We had a soda flight of their craft sodas for a super super reasonable price, and every single soda was spectacular. We're spoiled in the craft soda department by virtue of living in Wisconsin (Sprecher, Potosi, etc), but this was definitely the best craft soda we've had. Even the wacky flavors like blue raspberry were rich and flavorful--they didn't taste overwhelmingly artificial. I cannot recommend their soda enough, although I imagine their craft beer is pretty good too! We also had a delicious mocktail, which always goes a long ways in impressing us. All of our food was reasonably priced and so, so, fresh and delicious. The Bavarian pretzel with the beer cheese was heavenly!! We loved our entrees as well. Even something simple like the fries were perfectly done--fresh, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside I don't think we could have asked for a better experience. Everything we had their was top notch, and despite the number of things we ordered, our bill was not very high at all (about $50 for a mocktail, a craft soda flight and a soda pint, an appetizer and two entrees. read more

Great beer, great service, good cheese curds but overall the entrees are OK. The pizza was a notch above a frozen pizza. I could tell the crust was pre bought. It was definitely not made in house. The salad was supposed to come with spinach but it didn't, but the server gave me spinach to add in. But it was really basic, for 16 dollars. I wouldn't say any food here was amazing. Come for the beer and atmosphere but eat elsewhere. read more

Yum! Came here with family after they'd been raving about the schnitzel. It did not disappoint! It was cooked well, and came with delicious spätzle and roasted veggies. You get to pick from one of four sauce toppings-my parents both got the mushroom sauce, but I went for beer and bacon. I also got one of their seasonal drinks (I can't remember the name of it and the menu online isn't updated!)-it was good, but in the future I might stick to beer since that's kind of their specialty. Our server was friendly and helpful with questions. Even though the restaurant filled up as we got later into the evening, it never got overly loud, which was nice. Haven't been to Stone Arch for some time. We were greeted and seated immediately. Server came to take our drink order. Service was excellent by Kasandra. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was haddock and very light breading. Excellent. Another person ordered the Miso Salmon that was done perfectly. Our server checked on us a few times (love that). She kept our drinks full. Well- usually the camera eats first but everything here was so good I forgot to take pictures. First of all, some of the beers stuck out to me and I decided to step out my comfort zone and tried a couple. I ended up ordering the vanilla stout which was my first beer I have ever ordered, anywhere! It was great! We started with the duck wontons which were delicious and unique. I ordered the poke plate as my dinner, it was perfectly filling, great flavor and very fresh tasting. Boyfriend ordered the short rib burger- it was inhaled in .2 seconds and I think that says enough about that haha. We ordered the lavender crème brûlée for desert and oh my goodness, the flavor was very well balanced. It did throw us off a little that the custard part was warm, but I believe the flavored custard does not chill the correct way.... Would still order again. I went at an off time. I still was able to enjoy all that stone arch brewpub had to offer. I did sit in the pub area, which was nice. Next time I think I might sit more in the restaurant area and see what that is like. I chose stone arch because of the sale that they were offering. It was a caprese, peach salad. The presentation was very nice. It was lettuce, sliced fresh, peaches, mozzarella pearls, fresh basil, and baby tomatoes. I think it came with a vinaigrette dressing. It did not disappoint. Being in Wisconsin I also got a side of cheese curds. Really unusual for me. Since they were square came with the ranch dressing. Quite excellent. Service was good. I was in Appleton for a night to see Ryan Long at the Skyline Comedy Club (upstairs from the Stone Arch Brewpub). I picked the Brewpub for dinner somewhat at random - they posted their special on the stairway which was a pork loin with blackberry reduction sauce served on polenta with various roasted vegetables mixed in. Also, the look of the brewpub was pretty fire, with it's rough-hewn stone walls - kind of like some kind of pirate den. So it kind of drew me in. I sat at the bar and had dinner next to an off-duty waitress, who was very friendly and had a few Stone Arch brews which were all enjoyable (Pumpkin Lager was my fav). The chef ended up bringing me my dinner, and it tasted even better than expected. It had a kind of thanksgiving profile to it - very roasted-meat-centric but complemented very well by the gravy-like polenta and the roasted veggies. I'd been worried that the blackberry reduction would be too sweet - one of my favorite restaurants serves a pork loin with cherry reduction and the sauce is just way, way too sweet - but there was no added sugar in the reduction that I could taste. It was very down-to-earth. It was the best dish I've had in months. Next time I'm in Appleton I'll make it a point to stop by again. read more

This was such an awesome place!!! We absolutely loved it here and spent quite a bit of time here. We had originally planned to make this a quick stop but ended up getting a tour haha. This is an old brewery which originally was two buildings. The Horse and buggies would pull up in between the buildings and unload/load up. This has since been bricked in and is the main entrance and hallway. The main brewery is downstairs. There is a tap room and gift shop on the main floor. Upstairs is an event space. There is also a very nice outdoor seating area. The beer is great! We didn't eat, but we loved the whole dining area in the brewery. There's also a game room which was super cute. The guy working in the gift shop loved his job and was super passionate. He and his wife got married there! I have already recommended people come here and check it out. It was fantastic!! read more

My wife and I rarely go out to eat and in the past stone arch was always a favorite. Not anymore, the food was mediocre at best. The short rib/brisket burger is a pre made patty that looks like a Burger King burger. My food was cold, and I mean really cold. The pizza was good so I'll give them a 2 star, but when you spend over $120 on a meal for your family and it not only sucks but they refuse to even say sorry. It's unacceptable read more

I am not from the area. I'm from a southern state. This place was recommended by the locals and I can see why. There were a lot of different choices in the kind of "atmosphere" you can have when you come here. You can sit outside, in the basement, by the music, and a large slew of other options. The food, comes out fast and with good quality. I've never had Cheese Curds before in my life and I'm afraid that wherever I go, it wont be as good as it is here. Isn't it deflating when you have been looking forward for a yummy, filling supper after a long week of work? Or a long day? and then you get your food and, while it takes care of the "filling the stomach" part, it fails on the flavor-fulfilling aspect of the meal? That was this. This was that. It filled my stomach, and by no means did it taste bad, but it just really didn't...TASTE like much. Very flat flavor. Boring, and super mediocre. I was expecting them to be better, especially for $14. My SO ordered their BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich, and he said his sandwich wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't memorable. I was in town visiting and brought my mom here for lunch. You would never know from the outside! This place has really good food and the portions are big enough to share, we had plenty of leftovers to take home. I love the ambiance and old building and the service was fantastic! First time visitors and we were not disappointed. The place was packed with weekend customers and the hostess indicated it would be a 10 minute wait. We ordered cocktails at the bar (Drew the bartender was a blur of activity--not only our drinks, but he single-handedly served 15 people at the bar and filled waitress table-drink orders.) Our table was ready in 7 minutes so we followed the hostess to our table where Maia our server appeared right away to see if we wanted appetizers. We ordered the cheese curds while we were deciding on lunch options. The curds arrived within 5 minutes and we consumed them in short order because they were fantastic. We could have had 5 orders of them and still wanted more. For main course we selected the Cellarman Angus burger with Swiss cheese, a ShortRib Brisket Burger, and a Beer Cheese sandwich (tasty, melted goodness!) and fries to accompany. The food arrived quickly and we did another round of drinks. We looked around and noticed the crowd was filling up all the rooms/nooks so we passed on the dessert offerings. Next time we promised Maia we would have dessert to share for the table. All in all, a great visit to Stone Arch. We will definitely be back with friends. read more

On a previous occasion the food was extremely "Salty" and couldn't even force finishing our meal. Last night we decided to take our son out for dinner & a beer, and again the burgers were so laden with salt and extremely overcooked (pucked) , that we literally only made it through a couple bites at best. We brought it to the waitresses attention and were told "Sorry to hear that, I'll bring it to the cooks attention". Didn't see here again until she brought the bill. I went in here for a light bite to eat while in town for work. The 2 ladies working were very kind and greeted/sat me right away. The girl told me about all the specials which she was very knowledgeable and a big help in me picking. They have 1/2 price appetizers for Happy Hour so I got 2 brats and a side of sauerkraut for $8. Great deal! Next time I'm in town I will go back hungrier so that I can to try the schnitzel which looked delicious and that too was a half off special. I love this place. It reminds me of a speak easy because you have to go downstairs. For dinner you have to wait to be seated there is no sign. It's very romantic setting or can be a great place with friends. It wasn't super loud. The food is so tasty. Highly recommend the sweet potato fries with ranch. It's so good. I stopped in for dinner during a business trip to Appleton. I had red deer stroganoff, which was delicious, and a couple of their beers (Scottish Ale and the Dark Lager), both very good too. They're inside of what was for many years a brewery, dating back to the 1800s. When you walk in you have to go downstairs to find the restaurant. My server was polite and professional. We came in wanting to like the beer and the food. We have seen their beers in the store. We thought the Schnitzel plate was good, and the Beer Cheese and Beef was tasty too, if a bit dry. Skip the Scotch Egg- it had the thinnest layer of meat on the outside I've ever seen.,The garlic mashed potatoes were luke warm and thick, so we added butter and salt to make them better. Still, not recommended. They have a pretty wide selection of food and beer choices including vegetarian, so I'd come back to try more. There are several businesses in the building, so even though the parking lot looked packed on a Friday night, we had no problem being seated. The prices were pretty good too, but coming from Vegas, everything around here seems affordable. read more

On a limited timeline and here in Appleton for the comedy show, we needed a great burger to give us the energy to laugh for an hour or two. Well, this was the place to find such sustenance. Great burgers! I thought mine was delicious and the side of broccoli was a different, but great change up from fries. The cheese curds were incredible. I've never had square curds before but I loved em. And the sauces to dip them were great. I only give it a 4/5 because I'd want to try more and not give it a 5/5 because I haven't compared to anywhere else in Appleton. But don't let this 4 star fool ya, it's still more than worth a stop! read more

I've been here about two times since my last review and the food and drinks and has really improved. The last two times I was here they had a nice hard cider selection. Service has ALWAYS been good. I know I'm going to have a personable and organized experience here. I really enjoy the German inspired dishes. The schnitzel and spaetzel is legit. I have had their beer before but never visited until recently. We went during a slower time on purpose as our daughter in adverse to loud places. The staff here was really accommodating and the space is pretty cool. The food and beer here are pretty solid. I wouldn't say it's some place I would go out of my way for, but if we are in the area or passing through we would most likely make another stop here. read more
