    14" Works Pizza
    Michelle S.

The pizza is delicious! - I love a New York style and this crust was lovely, a tad thicker than other NY styles while still being thin crust, I really enjoyed it! They are very generous with their toppings! Highly recommend the works, so good! - Had listed inside a indoor lunch special 2 slices + drink for $7, sign me up! * - Only reason 4 vs 5 star is their online order from home system seems to be a bit faulty, we got there at our promoted arrival time to be met with that they hadn't started it yet and would need about 25 more minutes, ended up being about 30/35 minutes (If it were just me and my husband no big deal, but with a hangry toddler waiting at Grams house this was a bit of a surprise) The gentleman working said something along the lines of they only receive online orders submitted every 30mins which seems a little wild * Absolutely do recommend, and will for sure be back; but be weary of the online order - will be calling in for pick up from now on

The sauce the only thing good about the pizza. This is not worth the price point. There's plenty of better options for same price (56.00)

Decided to try this place on the recommendation of a colleague. Called at 10:58am and happy they answered the phone before their stated opening time of 11:00am. I ordered two 18" pizzas which totaled $56.83. I was told the pizza would be ready for pick up at 11:30am. The person sent to pick up the pizza sent me a photo she took waiting in the lobby at 11:57am. I called the restaurant and asked for the status of my order. I was told it was picked up. I told the man I had someone who said they were still there and reminded him that I was quoted 11:30 and it was almost 12pm. The man on the phone became defensive and said that it "was a busy day" and they were "making pizzas.' He added "The food left, it looks good" and said he "didn't know what else he could do." He offered no apology and said "All I can do is try to do better next time." Good service is equally important as good food. This was not the right attitude to have when addressing a customer concern. 30 minutes late with no apology or offer to somehow make it right on a future visit? There are PLENTY of other Pizza Places in Oceanside we will choose from. Update: the food was awful. The pizza sauce itself was good but the Crust was extremely dense and dry very hard to chew through. the cheese pizza was very Similar to Costco pizza (which also a lower quality)

It was also my first pizza from them. I ordered the Salsiccia pizza which has a sweet fennel sausage on it. The sausage tasted homemade. Perfectly seasoned. We got several pasta dishes which were perfectly served al dente. The order was packaged neatly and prepared on time. The staff is friendly and welcoming as always. Love this place. The food is reminiscent of my Nonna's cooking.

Incredibly gritty and had hard pieces of something in it that we had to spit out. The ravioli pasta was good, the stuff in it was truly disgusting. Again so bad all this time we've chosen other places to dine because of that one dish and whatever hard things were in it along with that gritty finely grounded chicken. So anyways the rating now is for my experience now. The above is just why it took me so long to try this place again. Service was great! Over the phone so nice and in person welcoming and friendly. Great staff here. Blonde is who helped me. Another dark haired lady even asked if I'd been helped and even with her serving was willing to help if I hadn't yet been helped but I had been helped so no need. Super great two ladies. Thank you both. Just had to wait a short bit for my food and to pay. $30+ for it. I had a bday coupon of $5 and $7 still on my account from all that time ago. Lady stepped in to put those discounts. Wonderful! The bag of my food was so light I looked inside because seemed nothing was in it. But it has my to go food in it so off I went. We live super close and got home, opened it but it was just warm. Not hot. Odd but well I was able to eat it right away. The sauce was oily butter tasting. The cheese on it tasted like plastic and the dish was missing the prosciutto sadly. Inside the pasta and the pasta itself was yummy! Sad the sauce was oily butter, no other flavor but oily. The pasta was smaller than before, still only 5 pieces of pasta, at $30+ for this ouch! Even after my discount $20+ was still not worth it. Bummer. The other time I had this dish it was all so good, the sauce and prosciutto etc. I am not saying we won't ever return, service is great. Looked over reviews, yes it's cramped inside and you are on top of others unless you get the booth, so I recommend the booth. We enjoyed our dine in experience time ago, only the chicken ravioli was gross, the soup was just ok but the rest was great. After today's experience I won't be repeating the tortellini. Maybe calamari and pizza next visit, but pasta portions n flavor lack too much to attempt other dishes. Just my thoughts. Again great staff!

It was fresh, light, and absolutely delicious. My entrée, the rigatoni with Italian sausage, mushrooms, and pink sauce, was outstanding. The sauce was rich and flavorful without being heavy, and every bite was fantastic. The service was equally impressive. The bartender was so kind and welcoming, and our waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the evening. A special thank you to Chef Angelo, who came out to visit with guests. It was such a thoughtful touch and showed how much he cares about both his food and his customers. Exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. I can't wait to come back and highly recommend Blade to anyone looking for a memorable Italian meal!

We ordered Brussels sprouts for our appetizer. It was pretty standard. We love Brussels sprouts so it was good but it wasn't particularly crispy and was very basic with just salt and pepper I believe. We enjoyed it but felt it wasn't worth our money because we could make something similar at home. For our mains we got the carbonara pizza and the papardelle bolognese. The carbonara pizza was not exactly what we were expecting. We had envisioned a creamy carbonara sauce with Parmesan on the pizza but instead there was just fully cooked egg on top. We also felt that the topping to cheese ratio was off. We preferred less cheese and more toppings. The crust was thick and if you like thick crust you may like the pizza they have here. The papardelle has good flavor but the pasta was a little bit overcooked. Overall, we felt that this restaurant was average hence my rating. We felt that the value of the meal was not as good as some other places we've been to in the past. We likely won't return and I don't think I would recommend this place over others.

We also ordered a pasta as an appetizer and asked the waiter if it could be split in the kitchen. I wanted spaghetti but was told they don't serve it. I then asked if I could substitute linguini, since it was listed on the menu with another dish, and the waiter wasn't even sure that would be possible. The good news is they did accommodate my request for linguini. The disappointing part was that they refused to split the appetizer in the kitchen and instead brought me an empty plate so I could divide it myself. At these prices, that's not the level of service I expected. My husband and I both ordered calzones. As someone from New York, I was surprised to receive what were essentially flatbread pizzas with limited toppings on top rather than traditional calzones, which are usually stuffed with the ingredients listed on the menu. It wasn't what we expected. On a Friday night there was no live music, despite the atmosphere suggesting there might be. When we asked why, we were told its only on Wednesday night. The service was average, the food was just okay, and I was also charged an extra $6 for substituting linguini. Overall, this restaurant didn't live up to the reviews, and unfortunately, I won't be returning.

Our waitstaff was headed by Kap & he did an excellent job. Told us to check out the happy hour menu since it was almost over, so we could get appetizers in at a reduced price. Ordered the calamari (crunchy, yet tender), bruschetta caprese (piled high with mozzarella & basil & chopped tomato), Caesar salad (crisp greens with a garlicky Caesar dressing), meatballs (2 large in a marinara sauce - so tender). They also have sliced warm bread on the table with olive oil/balsamic or butter. The drinks were perfect - nice and chilled and crafted perfectly. Kap also made a great recommendation on a bottle of wine. The menu has changed though. Some of our favorites have disappeared... (seafood risotto), so tried other dishes. Carbonara is so rich & creamy. The pizza margharita was cooked perfectly with a nice crust, but was a little lackluster in taste (not enough cheese maybe?). I did order a side of pesto to add some flavor. The lobster ravioli is always great here, so 2 people ordered it. Added chicken to the vodka penne (grandson's plate was completely emptied). Also had a fettuccini Montanara. Everyone but the grandson had leftovers to take home, so servings more than adequate. Kap really made the dinner perfect. Attentive without being over-bearing & making great recommendations throughout. Will definitely be back.
