I was in a 'I was hungry' mood..so I stopped in Corner Pizza before heading back to Ventura county (taking my time due to the wildfire). The staff was professional and helpful. The inside of the place was nice and for 4:00 in the early evening there were not too many empty tables. They served beer and also had a decent selection of wines. The pizza was a thin crust style (which I personally love) and the pepperoni, margarita and arugula were great. My next visit to SD county will surely have me at the 'Corner...' eating pizza. read more

Okay so real talk, this place is doing the most in the best way. Buy two bottles of wine, get a pizza for a dollar? Two slices and a drink for $10? I'm in. We got the whole hot honey pizza for ourselves (no shame) and that homemade Caesar dressing is unreal. They don't even carry ranch and put up a little sign about it, which lowkey made me laugh out loud. Corner Pizza is such a cute addition to Leucadia's coast highway. Their menu is robust and has a ton of options for everyone to find something they like. We ordered the margarita burrata and pepperoni split as well as a caesar salad and some drinks. The caesar was just okay, would loved more dressing, but the dried capers were delish. This pizza joint is bigger than it looks with almost all its seating on a wraparound patio. There are just a few seats inside. You order at the counter and then start hunting for an open table. It is not always easy. We probably waited 5-10 minutes before snatching a dirty table which had just been vacated. You need to enact your seagull fetch food instincts and swoop down on an empty table as soon as you see it. The Caesar salad was very average and had pieces of the salad's core in it which, frankly, no one eats and I am unsure if it is even edible. Regardless, the salad needed more flavor. We tried the Killer Bee pizza and it is very nice. There was plenty of pepperoni and the crust was thin and crispy. There was some soppressata on the pizza but not much. The chili honey gave it a nice sweet/hot touch. The pizza was plenty for three people. It was also $28, which is definitely pricey. Their wine list is more impressive than you might expect for a pizza joint in Leucadia, although Encinitas is now quite the restaurant hot spot. Good luck with parking. Fortunately, in Encinitas, you can park almost anywhere and most people are pretty laid back about it. Skip the Caesar salad but definitely give this place a try. I am extremely picky when it comes to pizza. I grew up in New Haven so I compare every pizza to that. We got takeout and ordered a regular cheese pizza as it was our first time trying and that's how I compare. The crust was actually pretty good -- crunchy but not dry, good flavor. It was cooked well, thin and crisp. The amount of cheese was just right. The sauce was where they lost me -- all I could taste was oregano. So much oregano! The tomato part was good, not sweet like some places make. But the overpowering flavor of oregano was too much. If you are looking for a nice NY style pie and don't mind oregano then definitely order away! If oregano isn't your thing, maybe go somewhere else. read more

We went here to celebrate my daughters birthday. It's her favorite place. The menu is so unique! We ordered the Killer Bee and Broccolini pizzas along with the Ceasar and Padrino salad. Everything was so fresh and delicious! The crust and sauce on the pizzas are perfection! The salads were large portions with crisp lettuce and just the right salad dressings. They have an outstanding beer and wine selection. My daughter said the oysters here are amazing too! The service was outstanding!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. What did I get? What everyone recommended... killer bee pizza. They recommended I get the dirty crust(I think that's what it's called) it is essentially everything bagel seasoning on your crust... do not turn that down. 100% highly recommend. My score for this place is based 100% on the pizza everything else did not matter after I took a bite! The service was good for a pizza joint and all recommendations were great. Very busy on a Friday night, but got a table. Pizza was long cut like new York style but very crispy, I really enjoyed the taste. I ordered cheese with broccolini, onions and hot honey. They forgot the hot honey and just gave me a side, which i didnt want., I asked them to pour it on using the honey bottle squirter (like they were supposed to) bc I didnt think I could properly spread it on the pizza and they treated me like I was crazy and argued with me. I think that's the san diego laid back vibe where youre not supposed to give a $hit. Not really for me, I just want what I ordered and paid for. So service wasn't that great. Over the years, this establishment has become a local institution. They have good wine and beer selections, above average thin crust pizza and amazing appetizers. This place can get quite busy but it's nice when you get one of the tables outside to watch the cars cruise the 101 while sipping on an adult beverage. My mom is extremely allergic to gluten, and we ordered a gluten-free pizza, of course, but we were charged $5 for it. I think it's very unfair to charge extra for a dietary restriction that's quite common. The service was also poor; it took about 40 minutes just to get the pizza, and when it arrived, it was cold. I have had about 5 take out pizzas from the Leucadia restaurant now and I was disappointed with the amount of cheese, sausage and pepperoni that was on the pizza. Crust was good but just not enough toppings especially for the price. On the flip side, I had a pizza at the Oceanside location and it was fantastic. Plenty of toppings and great flavor. Love to see Leucadia improve as it is much closer to my house. On a side note. We asked for a side of pizza sauce and they forgot that. read more

Got takeout ... The pizza was amazing and so well balanced (got the "Ana" vegetarian pizza and added eggplant). The sun dried tomatoes really made it flavorful -- there is a thick layer of mozzarella over the "toppings" so it's more of an inverted pizza but it really works! The mozzarella was so good and remained thick and elastic even the next day after reheating. Agree with another reviewer that it's a positive and fun vibe with people at the bar having a good time. Staff friendly and up beat! Fun fact (if true!): I asked where all the female names of the pizzas came from and guessed they were names of family and/or staff. The bartender said that the owner named the pizzas after his ex-girlfriends over the years. I was trying to find a witty response lol but my wife probably had the best: "he sounds like he was a hoe". With 16 named pizzas, either that is true or an exaggeration lol (and Ana must have been a favorite of his since it was a great pizza). So the take out was quick (they said 30 min and it was ready after 15-20 min or so). We also got the caprese appetizer which was excellent and calamari (kind of cold and a bit dry and not many, but with everything else being so excellent, 5 stars is more than deserved.
