I had had the opportunity to try three of their wines at a Yelp event earlier in the year, so I was thrilled to try their entire expanse of wines. We were fortunate enough to meet Jenna, their sommelier, and Joe, the co-founder, while we were there and got an extensive education in their unique wines made from grapes that can are designed to grow at high elevations with rough environments. The hybrid grapes make for distinctive flavors that are delightful to sip on. I loved the La Crosse (white) and the St. Croix (red). For those not into beer (like me), this is a great wine lovers oasis in the Reno Brewery District, and the opportunity to experience something uniquely RenoTahoe. Some expected wines from France and California, but also some more obscure ones from places such as Austria, so there is something for every taste! You can both order a wine by the glass or buy a bottle, which they will open for you to have onsite and that you can also take home if you don't finish it. Their prices are fair for a bottle and I wish I had done that instead of ordering a glass. The service was great! We had a huge group, yet the server was super patient and provided great recommendations to everyone. She was running around the whole time to take care of us and other patrons, but always did it with a smile on her face. I never felt rushed. They have limited snack options for purchase but allow you to bring in your own snacks as well. Finally, the space. It is on the smaller size but we were able to fit our group in without issues, while still leaving some open tables for other patrons. They also provide service on a handful of outdoor tables. The only minor issue is they had live music which felt quite loud in such a small place, but when asked, they were able to lower the volume a bit which was very nice of them!

I have attended two where two of my favorite chefs were creating their unique dishes, and Archive owner nailed the perfect pairings with all the dishes. The space isn't huge, so the events are limited to 30 people. Just right to get star treatment from everyone. No pretentious wine snobs or chefs, everyone discussing the highlights of the food and wine. Besides the dinners, Archive has also been hosting blind tastings and other fun wine discovery night. Street parking is limited. There is a parking ramp just around the corner that is easy to use.

The casino floor is overflowing with a wide variety of slot machines and tables to suit your liking, and the cage cashiers are always friendly and ready to assist. Top it all off with a theatrical or musical performance at the Grand Theater, and close the night with a night cap at the Crystal Lounge or a freshly brewed cup of coffee at the Starbucks. There is so much to explore at this property and soon with the amphitheater where UNR sports teams will compete you can already feel the excitement and adrenaline bubbling at the surface. The location is absolutely ideal if you drive, as valet parking and self parking are both available but patience is advised while construction is underway. Guest parking is available off 2nd street in the rear of the casino. Getting a rideshare out of the property might be a challenge for you as it has been for me on the weekends, as well, but cabs are always on site. When we decided to go again for mini trip, everything felt off about the place. The wifi wasn't going in and out every 10 secs, they charged us a small fee of toilet paper, and towels. We were shock they do that, because when we arrived to the room they didn't have any stocked up for us. I'm disappointed, that they don't tell you about the fees and I understand it can be very busy, but wrong to charge guest, when it isn't our fault. Then we found hair in my salad, I got refund for my item and half off the bill. The manager apologized about the issue (Chicken n Pete's). This place has went down hill, safe to say we will not be back here anymore unless changes are made.

If you're at the HAN Atlantis car show be sure to stop by and try one, believe me you will thank me later! This year the summit racing move their booth over to the Atlantis, if you're looking for it. The Atlantis has show & shines with great prizes money, cruising, bands and entertainment always great! Fun things for the kiddo's and craft booth's galore. Our room had 2-yippee. It makes sense 2 people in a room 2 sets of luggage!! The king bed was comfy and had plenty of pillows. The bathroom was nice, water pressure was good in the shower and so was the lighting. One interesting item was the use of comps at the restaurants. I was told we could only use them Sunday thru Thursday. Kind of peculiar that they are limited.

What a nice place to hold an event! Everyone I met with the Sierra Arts foundation was so helpful having a fun time working the event. Many great Artists as well as beer and spirits vendors were there! Although we like beer, we also went to taste a great product from Long Drink. So different and very nice. The comedian was good and the music awesome! We had a hot dog, that was very large, fat and juicy!! Not your average hot dog! A very good choice! Yum! The artists are so talented! We went home with a couple of purchases, but wish we could have gone home with so many more! The Golden Nugget and especially the Sierra Arts Foundation did a wonderful job! Gayle, Jim, Marti, and I took this most enjoyable walking tour yesterday on a nice warm Sunday…read moreafternoon. The tour started with the lower level of the Renaissance Hotel (who provided water and a snack) for a introduction, a historical set-up (in costume) and fun "throw the cards" warm-up. Once outside (fully masked) and "on the road", our tour stops included the old Post Office/West Elm, the Reno Courthouse, the Virginia Street Bridge, Space Whale/Site of old Mapes Hotel, Old Riverside Hotel, one of Reno's historic old Alleys, and Belle Island. In between were stories of hangings, rings thrown from the bridge, missing person/mob hits, possible prohibition liquor runs through alleged tunnels, and of course the church where the finale of Sister Act was filmed. There were also magic tricks, bad jokes, a look up in the sky gag for tour add-ons, a fake birthday song tribute to a surprised restaurant patron, and a very enjoyable and interactive outdoor experience. The expedition ended back at the hotel with a ring magic trick, a bit historical letter reveal, and appreciation for a job well done. This expedition actually left me with wanting more in terms of local historical tidbits and stories. Maybe sometime post-COVID, a longer and smaller attended walking tour would be "in the cards". In the meantime, please buy a ticket to the Weird Reno walking tour and thank you Kalin, Jinger, Jacques, and family for a bringing a little welcome joy to such a challenging time. It was nice to experience something new and much needed in a long time. I definitely recommend getting tickets. We were laughing throughout the tour. So much history of which I learned about that I had no idea.., which left me truly inspired. I'll keep an eye out as I overheard there would be special events around Halloween and the holidays yay! It was a great Saturday in which we were enchanted, outdoors and walking triple points. Even celebrating someone's birthday! If I have friends come from out of town I'll be sure to let them know to check out Weird Reno!
