I had had the opportunity to try three of their wines at a Yelp event earlier in the year, so I was thrilled to try their entire expanse of wines. We were fortunate enough to meet Jenna, their sommelier, and Joe, the co-founder, while we were there and got an extensive education in their unique wines made from grapes that can are designed to grow at high elevations with rough environments. The hybrid grapes make for distinctive flavors that are delightful to sip on. I loved the La Crosse (white) and the St. Croix (red). For those not into beer (like me), this is a great wine lovers oasis in the Reno Brewery District, and the opportunity to experience something uniquely RenoTahoe. This wine bar has a variety of wine from all around the world. Some expected wines from France and California, but also some more obscure ones from places such as Austria, so there is something for every taste! You can both order a wine by the glass or buy a bottle, which they will open for you to have onsite and that you can also take home if you don't finish it. Their prices are fair for a bottle and I wish I had done that instead of ordering a glass. The service was great! We had a huge group, yet the server was super patient and provided great recommendations to everyone. She was running around the whole time to take care of us and other patrons, but always did it with a smile on her face. I never felt rushed. They have limited snack options for purchase but allow you to bring in your own snacks as well. Finally, the space. It is on the smaller size but we were able to fit our group in without issues, while still leaving some open tables for other patrons. They also provide service on a handful of outdoor tables. The only minor issue is they had live music which felt quite loud in such a small place, but when asked, they were able to lower the volume a bit which was very nice of them!

Archive has also been hosting some fabulous pop dinners and wine tasting in this new space. The pop ups have been great fun. I have attended two where two of my favorite chefs were creating their unique dishes, and Archive owner nailed the perfect pairings with all the dishes. The space isn't huge, so the events are limited to 30 people. Just right to get star treatment from everyone. No pretentious wine snobs or chefs, everyone discussing the highlights of the food and wine. Besides the dinners, Archive has also been hosting blind tastings and other fun wine discovery night. Street parking is limited. There is a parking ramp just around the corner that is easy to use.

They did have BL Bliss. My favorite was Odins, that was absolutely delicious. It is a black tea honey flavor which was lovely! They were all delicious though. Pool is nice, needed a cleaning after the hella windy day blew debris in it nonstop. Life guards were attentive. Spa level had the kids arcade, bowling alley, shops and white rabbit theatre. So much to do. Housekeeping was very short staffed, our room wasn't able to be cleaned daily, needed to call for towels etc. Valet is busy as hell too. Takes 10-15 minutes to drop your car and 20-30 to get it back.

To their credit, they arranged accommodations at another hotel, although it was not comparable to the one we had reserved. Wanting to give them another opportunity, we booked another stay this year. Unfortunately, the experience was even more disappointing. Our check-in was delayed until 5:00 p.m. because the room was not ready, despite the advertised 4:00 p.m. check-in time. Once we entered the room, we discovered the air conditioning was not functioning properly and the desk lamp was broken. We called for assistance at approximately 5:30 p.m. and again at 8:30 p.m. after no one responded. Someone finally arrived around 11:00 p.m., after we had already gone to bed. The lamp was replaced, but the air conditioning was never addressed during that visit. The following morning, we discovered the bathroom floor was soaked due to a leaking toilet. Maintenance confirmed the issue, placed towels on the floor, and returned later to repair it. During that visit, they were also able to fix the air conditioning. Later that morning, we found that one of the mugs in our room had not been properly cleaned. While this would normally be a minor issue, it became part of a pattern of poor housekeeping and maintenance. When we returned to our room that evening, we found another leak--this time water was coming from the ceiling. To make matters worse, my friend discovered blood stains on her comforter that had been concealed beneath the sheet. When we reported these issues to the front desk, there appeared to be no record of our previous maintenance requests or completed service calls, which was extremely concerning. A manager later offered us a $100 dining credit. While I appreciate the acknowledgment, I do not believe it adequately reflected the extent of the problems we encountered throughout our stay. Grand Sierra positions itself as one of Reno's premier hotels, and with that reputation comes an expectation of quality, cleanliness, and responsive service. Unfortunately, our experience fell well below those expectations. I hope management takes these concerns seriously because guests should not experience repeated maintenance failures, cleanliness issues, and communication breakdowns during what is supposed to be a relaxing stay.

Our room had 2-yippee. It makes sense 2 people in a room 2 sets of luggage!! The king bed was comfy and had plenty of pillows. The bathroom was nice, water pressure was good in the shower and so was the lighting. One interesting item was the use of comps at the restaurants. I was told we could only use them Sunday thru Thursday. Kind of peculiar that they are limited.

What a nice place to hold an event! Everyone I met with the Sierra Arts foundation was so helpful having a fun time working the event. Many great Artists as well as beer and spirits vendors were there! Although we like beer, we also went to taste a great product from Long Drink. So different and very nice. The comedian was good and the music awesome! We had a hot dog, that was very large, fat and juicy!! Not your average hot dog! A very good choice! Yum! The artists are so talented! We went home with a couple of purchases, but wish we could have gone home with so many more! The Golden Nugget and especially the Sierra Arts Foundation did a wonderful job!
