I decided to have my husband cut off nearly 12 inches. Misguided, yes, but wasn't bad. It did need to be cleaned up though. Jessica basically saved me from myself. She patiently explained how hair is cut a certain way or another, to make it fall how you want, and do what you want it to do....I honestly didn't know there was more to it than just chopping it off wherever you pleased! Loved my hair. The next day I wasn't sure (each side curls differently, it's parted on the side, and one side is thicker, so it really is hard to tell). Jessica got me right in. Unprofessional, not friendly, and sloppy haircut work and not a welcoming environment. Below one star if I could for Great Clips. Walked in without an appointment and found nobody around in the shop. Waited patiently for a good 3-5 minutes and decided to shout "Hello?". Popped out this lady who came to the front from the back store and did not even greet me with a smile or provide her name. I inquired for the most skilled stylist since I am very picky about haircuts. The lady, whose name I learned was Monica S. when I saw her name on the screen checking me in, said she had 30 years of experience. Okay, I thought 30 years would do and thought she was the only one there when I checked in. I also told her that I forgot my coupon for a discount and she didn't say anything about it. I explained clearly what I wanted from my years of experience dealing with stylists. Plus I told her that expected a great job since I was going to a very special awards event tonight. She proceeded to cut my hair, I was dumbfounded that she used very basic techniques, sloppy work, and did not do the proper blend as I expected. For example, she started wetting my hair and then using the buzzer machine. It kind of meshes the hair when it is wet, the proper way is to buzz hair when it is dry, not wet. Only wet when you are ready to scissor cut. I was horrified during the cutting and was patient until she was finished. My right side had some hair poking out and did not match the left side at all. It was so asymmetrical and asked her to correct the right side. She complained that there was nothing she could do about it. Now, many stylists before her over my years were able to fix it without me having to tell them. I told her that other stylists were able to do it and she said do you want other stylists to do it. I was like what? I said no, you do it because you claimed you had 30 years of experience. She proceeded to fix it and my gosh, she made it worse shorter on my right side, and didn't bother to correct the left side to make it look symmetrical. Then I had to point out, do the left side to match the right side. I can tell she was exasperated and tried to correct the left side. I was still NOT happy with the results because she didn't bother to blend from bottom to top as I requested in the first place. I decided to let it slide and wanted out of there. Then I reminded her about the discount if she would offer it due to my not being happy with the results. She didn't bother to apologize or offer discounts but ended up paying the full price. Bottom line: Unprofessional, not friendly, and empty shop when I arrived, feeling like a ghost town. When I left the shop, I could see her through the window from my car "complaining" to her colleagues about me because I did not leave her any tip. I will NEVER go back to Great Clips at all, ever! Folks, get your haircut elsewhere like Sports Clip or the like for a similar price range. read more

Loyal customer of this location for over a decade. The website indicates they do haircuts for children my son's age, so I take him with. The stylist tells me: "I don't do kid's hair. I don't like kids. I don't like people who have kids." So instead of getting in when we're scheduled, we have to return to waiting. I mentioned this concern to the manager, and the stylist who refused my son called me: "a fucking asshole." Don't advertise kid's cuts if you don't do them (or if you have to wait a half hour beyond your scheduled time). Don't call longtime customers "fucking assholes" in front of their kids. The manager asked rudely, 'Are you upset?' and then told me if I wanted my head shaved (I didnt) I should go to a barber! Incredibly rude and ignorant. It's called Great Clips, but it sure seems more like "Mediocre Clips." I went in last night with my dad last night, and was greeted like normal and I figured it was going to be a pleasant experience like every other Great Clips I'd been to. When it was my turn to get a haircut, I sat in the chair, and showed Christine the picture of what I wanted. It was pretty straight forward; layers, face frame and a bang trim which is what I've been getting for ages, so I really just needed everything trimmed up. You know something's wrong when your hairdresser says "Oops." Long story short, my hair was four inches shorter, when I was told it would only be one inch, tops. MY bangs are about a half inch too short (if you have bangs you know a little is actually a lot), the layers were blunt, and the length of my hair was literally lopsided. I had to go to another salon today to save my hair. When I got to the salon, the hairdresser said "Wow, well at least she left SOMETHING for us to work with." when she saw the..... 'creation' on my head. Long story short, I will never, ever, ever go to this Great Clips again. It was, for lack of a better word, one of the WORST experiences I've ever had getting a haircut. read more

I had been getting my hair cut at an expensive salon for years. I've been growing it out for the last year and finally decided to get a trim to clean up the ends. I bit the bullet and went to Great Clips, and I got the haircut I wanted for the cost of a tip at the previous place. Karla was great; she listened to what I wanted and made good conversation. Tips: - Check in online or on the Great Clips app. It'll let you know what the wait times are at locations near you and hold your place in line. - Normally they just spray down your hair with a water bottle, but you can get a full shampoo and conditioner for just $3 more. - Be clear and say exactly what you want. Bring a picture or say "I want one inch off" and show her where that is on your hair. - The only reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that they don't blow dry your hair at the end. That means you have to go home and blow dry it yourself. It's also hard to judge whether you got the cut you wanted when your hair is still wet. read more

I went in to get a different kind of haircut. I know Great Clips doesn't do a lot of different styles, but those hair stylist went to school to learn all different types of styles. They are looking to do more. I got Dominique. She had a fun bubbly personality. I really liked her. We laughed a lot. She was so excited to do something different. She gets 5 stars. The location was super busy but I didn't wait at all. My hair came out somewhat of what I wanted. Short on one side, a little to short than what we discussed, BUT I'm not picky and I know my hair grows fast. The other side I wanted to keep my long bangs. My bangs could have been styled a little more over my ear. I had to take some hair off when I got home cause it just didn't look right. After I trimmed it more on the side with my long hair, it looked perfect. It was a weird style and I wasn't expecting it to be perfect, but I had a wonderful fun experience. read more

I have been to this location twice - the first was right before a speaking event where I was going to be onstage in front of 850 people! The second was before attending the same event. Wow. I usually go to salons, and that's where I take the kids. But this time, we went in a big group, 5 (walk-in) cuts in total, ages 17,13,13,13, and 8. Total price 66.00 plus tip. Holy good haircuts, Batman! I was really blown away by the level of skill that this place had to offer. Aren't these cheap places kinda crappy? My perspective has changed. We walked in and walked out in about an hour. Craziness. I will have to come back and add names of the stylists. For now, there's pink hair and piercings girl- super smiley, very friendly, and she did a great job on the 2 13 year old girls. Then, there was the other lady. Wish I knew her name.. I think it started with an H. She was also very nice, and very good. The 17 year old LOVED her hair. She's been raving about it for 2 days now. She also cut the 13 year old boy's hair. It was exactly what his Dad wanted him to get. It looked perfect! And then, my boy. A man cut his hair. He was not very friendly. I felt like I was an imposition. But he gets 5 stars anyways, because I honestly have never seen such a GREAT cut on my Son. His Dad wanted him to cut off his long hair and I was really disappointed. His hair is blonde, so when it's short, it looks almost see-through. This guy did an amazzzzzing job and I could not be happier. All in all, I'm highly satisfied! Do not take your children here! I had a TERRIBLE experience this morning when I attempted to have my toddler son get his hair cut at this location. I checked in online; we were up next when I arrived and a woman named Marta was immediately rude to us as soon as we walked in the door. My son had not made a sound, but she looked at him (certainly did not greet him) and aggressively said, "If he cries or gets upset I will NOT cut his hair." I was very caught off guard because I have never had a stylist be so unfriendly towards a child trying to get a haircut, especially when he was not even upset. I told her that he usually sits on my lap and we just try to make it work the best we can - recognizing that he is a toddler and can sometimes be unpredictable - and she again said she would refuse to cut his hair if he was even the slightest bit upset. I said that with that attitude, it was probably for the best that she did not cut my son's hair, and she seemed to non-verbally agree (definitely did not apologize or try to dissuade us from leaving or even attempt a haircut), and I walked out. I am very disappointed with this stylist's awful attitude toward children. Great Clips markets itself as a family-friendly establishment and should not employ stylists who refuse service to children for literally no reason other than their age. We will not return to Great Clips, especially when there are so many alternatives that will treat children like people, as they deserve. read more

UPDATE: Yes, Marina is a great stylist. I changed my rating due to yesterdays experience. I went in about 5:30 and saw that Marina was still there and thought "Oh awesome, I'll get my hair trimmed!" She said hello and how it's been a while since I've been in. I've been letting my hair grow out so I wanted just a clean up. She took my number and I sat down. I ONLY have Marina cut my hair. She's been cutting it for about 10 years now. Give or take a few. Within the next 30min, I was wondering who's hair she was cutting because she wasnt at her station. i then saw her with a bunch of stuff, so I figured "Ok she's cleaning up." Then a woman called my name for a hair cut. In which i said. "Im waiting for Marina" and she replies with "Oh Marina got off at 5PM.. " Umm.. did someone want to tell me that before I waited 30min?? Marina said that the girl was great and would take care of me, but at that point I was disgusted. I said Marina was the only one who cuts my hair. I walked out. Will I be back? I dont think so. Marina is great and does an awesome job, but I guess she gets off at 5PM. I didnt know that. --------------------------------------- If you want a great haircut and a great price, I recommend Marina. She's been cutting my hair for about five years now and I only use her. I went into this specific store today to try and get a haircut - I found out that they are no longer requiring mask for both customers and employees. They have a sign stating this is per CDC guidelines that mask are not required. However, they are forgetting that this CDC rule requires you to be vaccinated to go without a mask - their sign does not imply this CDC requirement. Also I saw there was no wait for this store while the surrounding stores had 60min or longer waits. So, I guess, if you want quick service and don't want to wear a mask - this is your store.
