I can't stop crying over my hair. it's so, sooo bad. I told her I wanted two inches off. She asked if I meant chin length, and I told her I didn't want it that short, and physically showed her that I wanted it around an inch longer than chin length. She, from the very first snip, cut it about an inch shorter than chin length. I should have just stopped her right then (or at any and every in the process), but I figured once part of it was cut I just needed to follow through on the length. I'd initially wanted it layered, but as she kept whittling my hair shorter and shorter to get it even, I decided I'd ditch them because she very clearly didn't know what she was doing, but when she got to that point she acted so confident I let her continue. She separated out the hair on the very top 1 & 1/2 inches of my scalp, cut it shorter, and then declared herself done and asked if I was happy with it. It looked really bad. My hair just had a wispy top layer noticeably shorter than the rest, but I didn't trust her to fix it, but I um-ed and uh-ed for a minute before asking if she could make it more layered - but to NOT make the layers shorter, just get some of the hair under the very top layer of hair. This is the part where things got really, really bad. She THINNED the bottom 5 or 6 inches of my hair. I'm not joking. When she'd been trying to work with my hair, she managed to keep getting it into gnarly tangles (if you're wondering, my hair is very straight and doesn't tangle easily), so I think that might have been part of her reasoning? I didn't actually understand what she was even doing at first, and it took me a while to catch on because that's such an insane thing to do. My hair looks so bad, and I can't do anything about it because she cut off all my hair. When I gather it it's less than half as thick as it was before. (It was also about half an inch longer on the right side) I cried when I got home and really looked at it in the mirror. I cried tonight while showering when I really felt how thin and ragged it is. I cried when I combed it after showering and saw how thin it is. I cried the entire time I was writing this review. As cliche and fake as this statement is going to sound - I have never, NEVER cried over a haircut before today. I genuinely feel bitter regret over tipping the stylist. She wasn't just incompetent. She made some incredibly bold decisions here. I'm used to not-great results at this location, but in the past I've always been able to level out the uneven clumps on my own. (Aside from getting the side that's 1/2 inch longer than the other) there's nothing I can do about this one. I can't even go to someone more experienced to fix it because there not enough hair left to fix. I've never given much weight to the idea you should be spending more money on a haircut, but I just spent $30 on a haircut I'd literally pay $100 (more, if I had financial means) to undo. I won't be coming back here in the future. If I can't find somewhere else to go, I'll watch some Youtube videos and do it myself. I don't think I'd do a very good job, but at least I can mangle my hair for free. read more

Never have I been to a hair cut place and been told that a haircut wouldn't look good on my son. Didn't even get her name I was so pissed off . I wouldn't recommend this place what's so ever . Also was told multiple times how I should have my sons hair cut ! good luck my people read more

Awful job of hair cutting. I gave this place chance and chance again and again and it was just mistake after mistake. No matter how many different stylists I used they always messed it up. It seems like the only time they cared was when I finally complained but they still didn't do anything to fix it. If you want a good haircut then stay away from Great Clips. Pay a little bit extra and go somewhere where they actually know how to cut hair even. I will give props to Pat. She was always super nice and friendly and did a good job but the other stylist need to be enrolled back into hair cutting school including the managers! read more

I love Great Clips. I go to different ones all across the valley, no problems. This location had the rudest lady I have ever encountered. She was insisting I give my address to get a haircut (although, the 100 other times I go to Great Clips I have never been asked this). It was just crazy that she held on to this idea when all I wanted was to buy a $14 haircut. This has to be the worst haircut experience I have ever received. The stylist (If you can call her that) absolutely butchered my hair. She didn't get my hair wet whatsoever and used electric clippers on it until I stopped her. I am a woman with long hair by the way. My hair is so uneven and cut incorrectly that when I went to a real stylist they said its the worst cut they have ever seen. I literally cried the whole way home and can't stop crying. The stylist at great clips even argued with me when I told her how upset i was and told me "what do you expect? It's not like it's a real salon." I literally can't believe how awful this haircut is and how rude I was treated. I am so embarrassed and upset to have to go out into public with the way she cut my hair. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!! The date is 7/1/21 and my haircut was at 9am so whomever was working then needs to be trained correctly. I have reached out to their cooperate offices to let them know how awful this experience was. I don't want anything from them. I just don't want another person to go through what I am going through today. read more

This place is just terrible. I sat for 30 min watching on person after another get bad hair cuts. I left after they just kept passing me up because I wouldn't give them my phone number to "check in". Glad I left after seeing the mangled hair cuts. read more

I went in to great clips today to get a trim, I arrived and checked in. I waited about 20-30 minutes. When it was my turn Pat called me over and I went to sit in the chair. She asked, "ok, so what do you want today?" I told her I wanted a trim in a v-shape, as I already have it like that. She said "oh no I don't do that." I asked if her co-worker next to her did. She said "no, she doesn't either." I said "well can you ask her if she does?" she said "no, she doesn't do that or anybody else." I just said ok thank you and left. This is the worst experience I've ever had at any great clips. Pat was very rude and non apologetic about not cutting my hair or even asking her co-worker if she could do it. She flat out refused to help me. I am very upset and I hope management will address this issue. read more

Management has changed since the previous reviews. I have been going to this Great Clips for over a year and won't go anywhere else.

Don't let this salon ruin your thoughts on great clips. This place is a joke. The management of this place is horrible. Management seems lazy, unwilling to do simple tasks as well as help the struggling stylists. I don't recommend this store to anyone for a hair cut or even directions if you are lost. Sign said open, 8 min till closing time and the door was locked. Told the associate I just need product and she simply said we're closed! Very poor customer service! I have never really had an issue with Great Clips until I walked into this Kearns location. They have the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a salon. I had very important event today and my hair was dreadful and even though the event wasn't going quite as well as I expected I felt as long as I got a haircut then I would be fine. Well my baby was sick and the only time I could get a haircut was after 8pm. I rushed up there and knew I would be okay since they closed at 9, I got there with 25 min to spare. Their lights were on still and the door was wide open. I went in and the lady that asked if she could help me never smiled or gave me eye contact and was rude. She said they couldn't do it because they were closing soon and had 2 people to still take care of. They had 2 stylists and plenty of time to finish the others and my simple trim. I guess they don't like to make $ even if they have to work an extra 5-15 min, and I'm an excellent tipper. I was furious and will never return to that salon! read more
