This is my first ever review. I came here because they were -open- on Sunday. My last hair service was a cut and color at a very high end salon (Humanity Salon) that, before tip came to $175. My hair came out so badly that I actually cried in my car. I've let me hair grow and grow, become shaggy and messy all because I didn't want to go to another salon and have another terrible terrible experience. I went to GreatClips because A) They were open Sunday, when I wanted to go, and B) It's a chain, I'm going in expecting a terrible job. When I got there the woman I had... I'm not sure she speaks allot of English? We did not talk. Not the whole time. She said yes I can cut that picture, she studied the photos I brought in, did minimal explaining and basically just told me when to put my chin down for her. And you know what? She paid such attention to what I asked her to do - a copy of Louise Brookes (1920s/30s star) iconic bob - that I can't compare her $16 cut to anything I've ever had before. She didn't give me a short bob, she gave me Louise's hair, every detail of it is perfect. I'll be going back there from now on, and I really cannot recommend highly enough that if you're tired of paying for $50+ haircuts and never getting exactly what you're asking for, please stop in and try them out. I asked them to cut off half an inch of the top and they cut off 1 inch and they also messed up my whole haircut

Brought a picture of what I wanted. I told her "DO NOT cut it that short, nothing above my shoulders." She cut it a good 3 inches ABOVE my shoulders. I couldn't be more frustrated, to put it mildly. I've been here and to other Great Clips before and usually got close to and exactly what I asked for because I know to bring a picture and tell them exactly what I want. Not this time. It's like she glanced at the picture and didn't hear a word I said and even cut it shorter than the picture. Never again. Just keep driving by. DON'T GO HERE. read more

I took my 2 year old daughter to get her haircut today. I asked for half an inch off and shaping. There was only one stylist in the store when we arrived. When I left, I initially thought that I had what I had asked for and actually thanked the stylist, John. Her hair was fluffed up a little bit, and I didn't notice much wrong other than a little more than I asked for being cut off. After she took her coat hood off, I realized that the cut was very uneven. Bangs were very uneven. Pieces an inch long. Right side of hair did not match left. I called and ask to speak to the manager. On vacation. Asked for the owner to call. Nothing. This is my second bad experience with this location and this stylist and the owner responded last time that the stylist was trying to make a good haircut when he gave my daughter a 1.5" haircut instead of the bang trim I had asked for. I ended up spending $60 elsewhere to fix this mess and it will probably take a long time to grow it back close to her previous length. Please avoid this location and John. read more

Asked them for a trim. A TRIM. I SHOWED them how much I wanted with my fingers--I wanted less than AN INCH cut off. The lady who cut my hair cut off over three inches. I have been trying to grow my hair (which grows slowly) out for over a year, and this reset my progress. My hair barely touches my shoulder on one side. Yeah, she cut it lopsided, too. Terrible results; I won't get my hair done there again. read more

Lost my business. For life. Despite my kids getting their first haircuts here and always generously tipping the staff... today? Not acceptable... rough with my 6 year old and in an obvious hurry... tried to say he moved but I was standing there the whole time and my son was NOT moving, he's very accustomed to sitting in a salon chair. I let the manager know who came over and apologized and wiped the blood off my son's ear. Take your kids and your dollars elsewhere, apparently the service has gone downhill. There's not a zero star rating otherwise they would have earned it, you don't like or want to deal with kids? Then don't offer kids cuts because if you can't be careful not to cause injury maybe you need to rethink what you are doing. read more

Elise Kallenbach Intentional Botched my daughters bangs! On Saturday December 4th 2021 I brought my 8 year old in to the Lake Stevens Great clips to get her bangs trimmed. We have been here twice before and never had an issue. We got checked in and were told it would be an 18 min wait. I sat with my girls reading while we waited. A few minutes after sitting down a woman looked at us and said "You don't have mask?" I responded and said "No. I have a medical exemption." She said "ok" and went back to servicing her client. A few more moments passed and another woman came to the front and again asked if I had a mask to which I responded "I don't. I have a medical exemption." She rolled her eyes and said she was ready for my daughter. My daughter went back with her and was in her chair for aprox 3 min. When she came back to me her bangs were a complete disaster! They looked like she had cut them herself. When I stated that we need to get them fixed her hair dresser responded and said "well maybe next time you will wear a mask." At this point I was furious. I paid and took my kids to the car and called a friend who is in the industry to ask her advice. She told me to get the hairdresser's first and last name and report her to the board. I went back in and stood at the counter. I was asked if I could be helped to which I responded "I need the first and last name of the woman that cut my daughters hair." The woman responded and said "Oh, um her name is is Elise... but that's it." She looked at Elise who was now standing by the counter and said "That's it, right?" Elise responded looking at me and said "Yep. You're not getting my last name." I said "Ok... I will just get it off your license then." I walked past her to her station where she ran to and grabbed her license and held it into her body so I couldn't get her information. When I told her that it was illegal to with hold this information and that I would report her she turned the license towards me saying "I just don't understand! Why are you doing this?" A licensed professional of any capacity is expected to perform services at a standard no matter their personal beliefs or personal feeling towards the person they are providing a service to. The fact that this grown woman intentionally botched my daughters hair because of MY disability is absolutely horrific and should not be tolerated in any capacity. If she was uncomfortable dealing with an unmasked patron she should have refused us service. Instead, she chose to take her personal beliefs about my MEDICAL EXEMPTION out of an 8 year old little girl. Medical exemptions are absolutely accepted in Washington State and I am protected by the American Disability Act, with that being said I have no issue with taking my business elsewhere if someone does not wish to serve unmasked patrons. Personal beliefs should have absolutely no baring on the level of service provided. read more

Somehow she charged me $21. She was the WORST stylist I've ever encountered. My hair was still poofy on the sides. I've been to great clips a million times and other locations can pull my info. Not sure what the issue was. She didn't speak good English so..... how hard is a mans haircut though. Seriously. It grew back all weird. Idc why I left a tip. 10% was 20% too much. read more

Got a simple trim done on Christmas eve, nothing fancy just a 2 in trim all the way around to make my hair one length. When I got home and straightened it out, I notice there was a lot of loose strands and uneven parts. Went back to get it fixed up and the guy would not even listen to what I was saying and began wetting down the opposite side. In doing so he soaked my face with the spray bottle and then smirked like he did it on purpose, then said " it's just water ". I was over it. Took the shield off and got a refund and was done. Go somewhere else that pays more attention to detail especially on a haircut that is extremely basic, Or at least somewhere that will treat you with respect if they mess up. I would have been fine just getting it fixed but the lack of professionalism killed it for me. Two stars because they at least refunded the haircut payment and I went somewhere else to get it fixed properly. read more

I checked in using the app. I waited for an hour and then waited in the store for another 25 minutes. Per their menu I wanted a shampoo cut and style. After I got in the chair I was told they don't do shampoo cut and style. They only cut hair. This is a waste of my time and false advertising. read more

If I could write a no star review for the man that cut my hair today I would. Save yourself the extra cost of having to fix your hair after. It was a very short appointment. I scheduled and was seen shortly after. Service at the door was good but after I took a seat I was looking for my hair to be styled and cut clean he did ok until the end. I asked for shorter taper. He said "ok We'll do it my way, my way is better." In short wasted money. read more

My daughter had a good haircut here. She told the guy what she wanted, he did it, she was happy. Offers products as well. We didn't wait b/c we did the online check in feature that bumps you to the top of the list over walk in people. read more

My son came in today for a trim. His hair was a good 3 inches long on the top. The lady who did his hair decided to buzz all of his hair off! He asked for "short on the sides, long on the top". His friend was there with him and heard him ask for this. When he got home he was not happy and I was pissed. I called to speak with some one about the issue. It was about 15 minutes passed closing so I was leaving a voice message. A rude as hell Asian woman answered the phone toward the end of my message JUST to argue with me. She admitted to being the one who did his hair, but would not admit how horrible of a job she did. She basically called my son a liar while trying to shout over me the entire phone conversation. She tried to tell me she gave him a number 4 on top and a number 2 on the sides. No. It's the same choppy length all around. Plus, his hair was long on top, it needed to be done with sheers. Either way, what she did was not at all close to what he asked for. The phone conversation ended with me asking to speak with a manager and her hanging up on me. Incompetent idiots work here. I went into Great Clips today. John did a fantastic job. In and out in less than 15 minutes. This is my new barber shop.

I showed the guy clearly what I wanted and he cut off like 4/5 more inches than what I told him to. Do not recommend this place unless you want them to mess your hair up read more

Went in to get my son a regular little boys cut. Was told the wait was about 35 minutes. An hour and a half later they are still taking people before us, a few of which were asked if they checked in online and responded no, so they were in our boat. When I asked why, I was told it would just be a few more minutes. I watched a family of three walk in and get cuts, and I prayed we wouldn't get that stylist. An hour 45 minutes later we left. walked in yesterday for a spur the moment chop to my hair. Jennifer was the stylist and I have to say I have never had a better hair cut in my life. Its exactly what I wanted and is the first time I cut my hair shorter and havent regretted It. Thank you Jennifer. I seriously love my hair and will be back to see you. read more

If I could I would give them 0 stars. First visit was great but second visit was horrible, it's like they didn't read the notes from the previous visit. My oldest hair looks all choppy and unprofessional and the youngest one was way to short. Plus not everyone likes those lines around the face. Out of the various "cheapie" hair places in the area, we've found this one to be the best. The boys in the family get their hair cuts here often and they do a good job. The girls all have long hair and just need trims and this place does that very acceptably as well. Weekends can have longer waits, but weekdays get you in almost immediately. read more

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star... my son asked for a hair cut and they shaved his head instead...my 17yr was very clear about what he wanted... this is embossing for him as well as for my family as we have pictures in a week. The man working wanted to sit and argue with me about it and they refused to do anything to attempt to make it better... very disappointed read more

BUYER BEWARE! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR! Three of us went here to get basic trims and came out with our hair so messed up, it looked like 5yr olds cut our hair! When we complained to the owner "Maggie" she was very rude and refused to do anything about the problem(s). Great Clips should change their name to Worst Clips!
