I went not to long ago my mom requested that I got my hair to my shoulders but the lady had a bad attitude after I told her I liked her hair style and she started to cut my hair at way above my shoulder length and it was so bad I started crying I would not recommend this place their attitudes are horrendous read more

Horrible service and bad haircuts. If I could give zero stars I would. The ladies there have a bitchy vibe overall, and in the end my son's hair was butchered and she took no responsibility for it. A friend of mine had a recent bad experience there with her son's hair not being cut the way he requested, and the cutter ended up yelling at my friend when called out on it. Today my co-worker said he got a cut there yesterday and the cutter was laughing at how bad a job she was doing, whilst ignoring the instructions he gave her. I took my niece to get 4-5 inches cut off her waist length hair. The girl that cut her hair didn't act like she's ever been to cosmetology school by making so many basic errors doing a basic trim. I was surprised that she dry cuts her hair and when I look over, her hair is 3 different lengths and she's asking me how it looks as if she's done. After seeing my face and me pointing out the different lengths she says she couldn't figure out why it wasn't straight. After 2 other workers come over and tell the girl, yeah, she has wavy hair and you should have had it more wet and she still didn't understand. I didn't want my niece to be upset so I couldn't say much but this was ridiculous and now her hair is 3-4 inches shorter than we wanted and no one apologized or offered anything for such a terrible experience and poor skills. Well definitely never going to great clips again especially this lakeway location. Just got my haircut and it is so bad... theres jagged edges and patches. I really should be refunded. She was nice enough but after 10 mjn she started taking the apron off and i was like no she can't be done. Strong recommendation. Dont go here. Their haircuts are $19 far too much to have ur hair jacked up. Very unhappy read more

I told the hair chopper I wanted my hair cut with scissors. She asked if she could use the clippers a little around the ears- I said ok. Hair chopper was busy making bad jokes nonstop so I was pretty distracted. Suddenly I realize she is whacking away at the hair halfway up the side of my head- like taking huge gobs of my hair with the evil clippers- I was like "what are you doing? I told you to use the scissors and you agreed! Nobody has ever done that to me in my life. She continued running around making bad jokes 100 miles per hour- the term "baffle them with BS" comes to mind. A terrible experience. I will not be back. read more

So here's the thing. Sometimes we get a bad haircut. I went to Great Clips in Lakeway to get it fixed. I was lucky enough to have Nathan fix my hair. He was fun, kind and a great stylist. He did such a great job. Seriously, perfection. He listened to my concerns and offered up a great solution (I was ready to cut my hair crazy short to fix it). I have been to this location many times, but recently two check in mishaps will cause me to look elsewhere. I use the app to check in before leaving, which has usually been very convenient. A few months ago, however, I checked in and arrived at the store a few minutes prior to my scheduled time. I saw my name on the screen and sat down as the stylists were all very busy. After waiting more than 20 minutes beyond my time, they called someone who came in after me. I questioned this and the stylist said something like "sorry, but you didn't tell us you were here". Wouldn't they ask for the next name on the list? Today I tried to check in prior to 10am but the app said the store would not accept while closed. As I was very close by, I went to the store and got into line behind two other gentlemen. After entering, the stylists checked all three of us in at the counter - NOT on the app. I know this for a fact as guy #2 commented that he "didn't even own a smartphone". The two stylists then started on the first two guys in front of me. After the first one finished, then leisurely swept both her station and the other stylist and had a conversation about someone's interview that was canceled or rescheduled, she called someone else. I objected and stated I had checked in immediately at 10a when the store opened. She said "he checked in online". HOW CAN I CHECK IN ONLINE WHEN THE APP WON'T LET ME? She basically said "too bad" and I would have to wait about another 30 minutes. Too bad, i left and will find another option for haircuts. read more

I was a walk-in and was told I'd be next and it'd be a 4 minute wait. A girl that was waiting before me is helped next. Then two minutes later, someone else walks in and gets seated before me. I receive no explanation about why he is helped next and not me. I patiently wait for another 30 minutes. Then, another person comes in and is helped before me, apparently because he did online check-in. But the staff again did not say anything to me or offer any explanation. I decided to leave the store after being passed up twice with no one saying anything to me. Terrible way to treat a customer that is patiently waiting. No wonder this location only has two stars on Yelp. This was a waste of my time and I will not be coming back. read more

One of their stylists totally BOTCHED my hair a few days ago. I had to go to my friend to get it chopped off to fix what she messed up. I guess you get what you pay for but don't use this store!! This place is a joke, and it shows in the quality of haircuts. Also the attitudes of the so called stylists are a joke. I received a wide string of haircuts where something was wrong with it. I stopped going after a woman decided to cut my hair according to how adorable she thought I'd look. I realized what she was doing (and I was told that it was cut haphazardly on the right. Oh, and she was wanting to give me a faux hawk. Needless to say, I was pissed. My hair is not that complicated! For a while I requested a girl named Stacia. She was at Great Clips for a while. My son had a cut done by Valerie. It is the absolute worst cut he has ever had and resembles the hair cut Jim Carrey had in Dumb and Dumber- definitely not what he asked for. I called them to ask for my money back and Valerie would not give me her name to begin with. When she did, it was with an attitude, and due to this, I did not hesitate to tell her how I felt. In hindsight, I should not have done this and aimed to call her manager Amy that afternoon to discuss options, but after reading the reviews about Amy here I am glad I did not. It is still a terrible, terrible cut and I had to take him elsewhere to fix it at our expense. What a mess! We used to like this place, but will not go here any more. Got my 4 year old son's hair cut there. Gave very simple instructions to cut on the very back and bottom of the hair since we are trying to grow out a super short haircut from last summer. The back ended up completely uneven. I had to tell her 4 times not to cut the top and she ended up cutting an inch from the front and now looks horrible. I had to even it out at home which completely defeated the purpose of paying someone else to do it. Disappointed and frustrated. Now we have to wait several more months for this to grow out. I guess you get what you pay for? But I would rather have my $15 back along with my sons hair. ugh read more

BEWARE-- STYLIST DID NOT LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS. I went in to get some bulk removed from my long-ish hair. I EXPLICITLY told the stylist NOT to cut the back, and NOT to reduce the length, that I was perfectly happy with everything except the way the sides of my hair tend to bush out when they grow long. Diane indicated that she understood, and then proceeded to cut the length out of the back completely, explaining afterwards that she "didn't cut the top, like you say". When I submitted negative feedback on Great Clips' corporate website, they responded within two hours and the manager of this location contacted me shortly thereafter. We were able to reach agreement on a refund, so while I am not a fan of the haircut I received, the manager did what she could to make it right and I respect that. read more

Just stop in to get my hair cut. On the front door it says walk right in. Well I walked right in and the first thing out of their mouth was did you make an appointment online? Then they said there was an 80 minute wait. Went to the one in Bee Cave and the same exact thing happened. Maybe they need to say walk right in and wait 2 hours, or walk ins not welcome. Beware of Great Clips in Lakeway. A cruel hairdresser named Rosalie caused horrible destruction to my hair when I went there for a hair cut in late February just before the Covid19 shutdown. At first Rosalie acted super nice as she cut my hair meticulously & gave me useful tips. BUT when she began blow drying, she started yanking each section of my hair with all her might. The tremendous force of each tug actually pulled my entire head backward each time! I feel terrible that I sat there & took her abuse, but I just felt so overwhelmed with shock & disbelief due to the fact that just a few seconds earlier she had acted so kind & helpful. I felt immobilized & too embarrassed to jump up & scream at her. That hairdresser Rosalie was sadistic to me. I've felt tremendous scalp pain since then, & my hair continues to fall out in chunks. I am balding almost completely, & I am entirely devastated about my hair. After doing extensive reading on the subject of losing so much hair due to trauma, I am worried it might NEVER grow back. I am going to see my doctor next week, so hopefully he can do something to save my hair. It's aweful. Beware! read more

I check in online at least 30 min before heading to the store. Once I got to the store there were 3-4 people in front of me. However I ended up waiting an hour before I had to walk out of the store without a haircut. Every person that walked in was placed in front of me because they check in online before me. Apparently there is no priority for people that actually show up and wait. They give priority to people that just check in when the store opens then they show up hours later and cut everyone in line. This is a horrible system and I will take my business elsewhere from now one. read more
