I went to Great Clips on 1038 Maple Ave Lisle IL 60532 on 02/10/2024 at around 8:30am. The woman with long colored brown hair did my hair, she cut my hair was not even, when I explained if she can make left side shorter, she was not willing to do, she found two excuses to not spend another 3-5 minutes to do this job right. Finally when she agreed to do it, she was getting mad to cut big chunk away, without checking or observing how much needed to cut, she picked up scissors cut at least 3/4 inch from the left side, and start randomly picked up truck to cut. I am pretty sure she was not happy for my request, and not happy for her job, not happy for whatever she got paid, she punished my hair by destroying. As a person along, he is a BAD person. I left the store without paying, I talked with the store manager and explained my experience, She said she would to check. Then I received a woman named Sandra Prohammer called me, she claimed she is the owner, she threaten me to report police as I received service without paying, is thief. I am waiting police to come to check out. When I arrived at home, my husband was fricking out by what they did my hair, he started calling the owner's phone, and left message, she did not call back instead text back in about hours, said she would consult with her husband to handle this. Then she text back after hours again to ask for photo, we sent her photos. Without other response but saying we should go to other place to cut my hair in future. I am astonished by the quality level of the owner Sandra Prohammer to manage her customer service, it is looks like a joke. This is usually my go to for getting haircuts for $20. The ladies cut my hair fast and it usually looks great. It can be one of the popular locations since it's on a busy street. Parking is spacious but it can be a pain getting out of that area. On one side you mostly get a constant flow of traffic going right (Maple). On the other side by Jewel (Rt-53), you have to wait a while if you want to turn left. I try to go in the early morning or early afternoon on a weekday. read more

Was really pleased with my cut. I walked in with no appointment and even though they were short staffed I was in a chair in about 20 minutes. The pricing is great! The haircut is $18 without styling and my hair is super short so that price was right, bonus is a child or senior is only charged $16, such a deal. I saw Lorena and I showed her pics of my best cuts and she went right to work and to my delight she only used clippers to clean up my neck. It's takes real skill to cut short hair cause there's very little forgiveness. Lorena is confident and talented and I will return. If you're shopping for a dependable place that doesn't hustle you for extras and make you pay more for "senior stylists" check this place out. read more

I went to Great Clips on 9/23/24 in the morning. When I entered, they made me wait as usual. When it was my turn, I went up to her and told her the haircut I wanted. She picked up the clipper guard 4 as I told her. She didn't even tie my hair up as it was pretty long. She directly started cutting my hair off with NO PERFECTION AT ALL! She kept flicking my hair off to the sides with her fingers without a comb or anything. When she picked up the scissors, I told to cut around 1 finger of hair, but she directly started cutting my hair in a large amount. I also told her to cut the dead ends but she kept asking me what number do you want for clipper guard. She didn't even use one drop of water. Honestly, Great Clips being a popular and wealthy Hair salon, some of the staff look like they are not trained at all and don't give the the satisfaction to the customer. My hair was so messed up as I am trying to grow it long now. In the end, the hair was so uneven, dead ends are still there, and she made it look like someone is forcing her to do it without any clippers or any tool. My hair in the back is not cut properly at all and is bigger in the back than it is on the front side. I am so disappointed and wouldn't recommend Great Clips based on my experience. This has happened to me like 1 or 2 times now. I think some staff should take this job more seriously as for some people, their hair is a part of their personality and make the person feel confident while speaking. read more

So I'm between cute . I went in for a trim around ears and hairline . I do this to keep a clean look and whenever I go I say the same thing . Clean up stints ears and back hairline . They do exactly that . It's a few bucks and a tip but it's completely cool . Today I go in because I noticed no wait . The girl proceeds to ask me if I usually do a number 4 and I said yes . Odd question since they never asked before . She then proceeded to use a 4 and start to fade me . At this point what do I do . Stop her ? Can't . I would have a 2.5 inch wide strip up the back of my head . Was I not clear enough when I said just a clean up around my ears and back hairline ? Or what about when I said we are not touching too just a clean up . Slick way of making me pay for a full haircut even though I said clean up . Best part s she still didn't cut top . So what paid for a full haircut and only got a fade. Listening to instructions is not hard . Visiting from out of town, stopped in to get a quick haircut. I signed in online and showed up about 30 minutes later. I'm a military member so I usually get my hair cut on base so I wasn't in the computer system and was told I hadn't checked in. I walked out after 2 other customers that came in after me were seated before me without any acknowledgement. You can get your hair cut many places without feeling disrespected. read more

LIARS.... I have cancer. Before I started treatment I went to the Lisle GREAT CLIPS on Maple Avenue, for my "last' cut. I was told to come in during treatment and they would cut my hair for free. So, today 7-29-19 I went for that cut. As I leave, the Manager says "$12." I said, what? I was told it was free for cancer patients. She just smiled = $12... and she did not cut all around just some sizzors to shape. DON'T GO THERE - they are liars; they care nothing for persons with life altering illnesses ~ care only for the $$$$. wow. When I get better, will go to a different company. read more

I have been going here for almost 10 years and can say I have never walked away with a bad haircut (although there is not much up there to cut). I try and go every month but ends up closer to 6-8. Being only 5 minutes from the store makes the online check-in speed up the process, in and out in 20 minutes or less. The girls are all very good but I do have my preferences. I just moved to lisle and was looking for a place to get my haircut. I usually would go to Barbers Chair in New Lenox which I loved. Unfortunately I began searching and saw the prices for barber shops in this area to be on the steep end. I decided to try great clips since it was affordable and very close to my residence. I had a great experience here getting my hair cut. They were very quick to get me checked in and to a chair. My stylist did a great job cutting my hair (disconnected undercut) and really took her time making sure she got everything exactly right. I went and got my haircut here several weeks back I've gotten so-so haircuts in the past but always liked the stylist so didn't mind. anyway the last time i went i got my haircut done by Amanda or (amy) and at first it seemed routine but the entire time she was EXTREMELY RUDE to me saying "PLEASE STOP MOVING YOUR HEAD" in a really rude tone in which i wasn't even moving and I've never been told that before by anyone either for the record. she was very short with me refused to make small talk to try and ease the situation. i was unhappy with the haircut she gave me she made me very uncomfortable i wished the entire time i was there that someone else would of cut my hair. Also after word i gave her a generous tip of almost $10 in which she didn't even say thank you. I Will never return to this establishment and give them any of my money.
