    This is not a fade. There are bald spots in my head. It's uneven. There are parts sticking up. This is horrible.

    I came here on a recommendation in hopes of finding somebody who knew how to cut Asian hair. It was deserted on a Monday afternoon and they asked if I had an appointment. Without a doubt the worst hair cut I've ever gotten. The lady cutting my hair didn't speak English. Another had to translate. I asked if she knew how to do a fade. She seemed confident that she did. Clearly she didn't. She tried to fix it. But immediately just cut shorter and shorter without clearly grasping what is wrong. Now parts of the side of my head are buzzed down to the scalp but my temples aren't shaved. The haircut is uneven. There is no styling. There are bald spots. They can't even cut a straight line. During the cut she seemed more preoccupied about having a conversation with somebody who wandered in. She even left to go look at photos on somebody's phone. They conversed very very loudly. She wasn't focused and clearly she was rushing. When she asked how it looks, I brought to her attention that it's uneven, or lumpy, she got confrontational and insisted that it was not. Avoid at all costs. I feel like Kim Jong Un on a bad hair day.

    I was planning on writing a 4 star review because I usually love Jennifer's results. I always send her a picture before my appointment and she usually gives me exactly what I ask for. The wait time and whole hair changing process has always been longer than the estimated time. It can vary between double to triple the time she tells you. However, the results have always been worth it. For example, I wanted to go from dark brown hair to blonde with pink ends. She delivered. However, it took about 6 hours total (again, because it was exactly what I asked for, I was happy with the results). Why the 2 star review, you ask? Long story short is that I would still give this place 4 stars for Jennifer. However, due to the owner, I can't. Kay is unprofessional and very rude! On Saturday, July 9th I had a 10:15am appointment for color & cut. I wanted to go from blonde to a caramel brown with lighter highlights & a v-shaped cut in the back. I got sick when I woke up and asked Jennifer if I could push my appointment back. She was really sweet and said I could come in at 12:45pm. I waited about 30 minutes after I arrived at 12:45pm and she began. Unfortunately, after her first attempt at coloring my hair, it turned out gray. Not a trendy, pretty gray. A light, green-blue, dirty gray. I held back tears as she politely asked what I thought. I told her it's not what I asked for. She attempted to resolve the problem. The results? A darker blue-gray. It was a cool color, but not the color I had asked for. At this point, things were taking longer than expected so she had to turn some customers who had appointments away. While I was soaking in this "Raiden from Mortal Kombat" hair color and Jennifer was cutting a male customer's hair, I heard something I wish I hadn't. Kay, the owner, was telling her male customer (they were at the chair next to me) "that lady's clothes are see-though" (in Korean). He asked her who she was talking about and she replied "the lady with the rose print." I looked around the whole salon and I was the only customer with a flower print dress. I was in complete shock. I had a nude-colored dress with flower print on and as far as I could see, there was nothing see-through about it. Even if it was, it was very unprofessional of her to comment on it the way she did (she apparently didn't know I speak and understand Korean). I looked at her with horror and after she caught my gaze she started whispering to her customer. After he left, I noticed she kept giving me dirty looks. I was so upset that I called over my friend and she came to support me. When my friend was asking me if I wanted to just leave this unprofessional place, the owner noticed and came over. She over-dramatically said, "Who, meeee? What do you mean? I thought your friend doesn't even speak Korean so how would she know? I'm not dumb enough to talk about my customers that way-especially to a male customer! Besides, she's wearing a gown, how would I be able to see her underwear?" The topping on the cake is that she could have quietly said there was a misunderstanding. However, she got in our faces and said, "I'm sorry if you think you heard something you didn't hear. But you have to listen to me. I have feelings, too. I swear on my father's grave I would not do such a thing!" My friend asked Kay if she was then calling me a liar. The owner replied, "Noooo, that's not it, but I'm just saying you have to listen to my feelings, too!" Kay then went to her next customer, pointed to me, and said that I was saying that she said my clothes were see-through when she never did such a thing. My friend looked over at her so Kay started whispering again. Kay tried coming over to me one more time and said, "I'm sorry if you think you heard something you didn't, but...." So I finally spoke up. I said, "I heard you loud and clear." Kay got very upset and called Jennifer out of the store (I still haven't even gotten to the haircut and it was already about 7pm (they close at 7:30pm). Eventually, Jennifer and another stylist did the best they could and color-corrected my hair. It didn't turn out the caramel color I had asked for, but it turned out an ashy medium/dark brown. The cut was exactly what I asked for. I really appreciate Jennifer and the other worker for fixing my hair. I don't appreciate the owner's lack of professionalism and have decided not to return to Ellie Hair.

We've spent thousands of dollars over time and built what we thought was a positive relationship with your team. However, I'm deeply disappointed by how I was treated recently. Months ago, I had to cancel an appointment on the day our beloved golden retriever passed away. It was an emotional, heartbreaking day, and canceling was not a decision I took lightly. Since then, I attempted to rebook verbally for a future date and called to confirm--only to be told you would no longer accept advance bookings from me. I was told I could only do same-day appointments due to "multiple cancellations." One of those was the day my dog died. The lack of empathy, understanding, or even basic professional courtesy in this situation is staggering. There was no outreach, no consideration for our long history as paying, respectful clients. Instead, I was shut out. This is not how a professional salon should treat anyone--let alone a loyal customer. I'm shocked and hurt by the cold, dismissive response I received, and I'm still waiting to hear from a manager. Frankly, I don't understand what kind of customer service process allows for this kind of treatment. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend your salon to others based on this experience.     THE WORST SALON EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD…read more I'm absolutely shocked and disappointed. As a model, my hair is a big part of my work and the stylist completely destroyed my look. I clearly explained that I wear my long sides slicked back behind the ears and asked for just a tiny cleanup and a slight trim on the sides. Nothing drastic. But what I got was the total opposite. Just look at the photos. Nothing is straight, clean, or professionally done. It's honestly hard to believe someone with such poor attention to detail is working as a stylist. He usually goes in for a hair cut every 1-2 months whereas I would go in once every 6-9 months. We would usually book our weekend afternoon appointments a few days in advance. Thus far, we have not run into any issues. We would arrive early or on-time and the appointment would almost always start as intended. There has been one occasion in which we were 15 minutes late but they were very nice about it and were still able to fit us in. We do not have a specific hair stylist. We usually just go with whomever is available so there has been a few times in which the haircut was not the most ideal, as in slightly longer at the top and uneven buzz at the back for a men's haircut. It is not a deal-breaker and it could easily be communicated and addressed.
