When I told her it was a terrible haircut she said she didn't think it was terrible, but it was shorter than we wanted- yes, because he was looking down watching a show on our phone the whole time she said, and when I asked if she asked him to look up, she replied to me " I don't have to ask him to look up". Do not go here. This is the worst haircut I have ever seen. Save your money and do it at home if this is the place you're thinking of taking them. During to COVID, my son probably hasn't had a proper haircut for 4 months. Our regular hairstylist was closed and his favorite hairdresser was not back yet. I cut my son's hair twice, and doing it yourself without experience is extremely frustrating for all involved. I could not get his hair cut to save my life. We were in the area and my husband insisted we get his hair cut and so we ended up walking in for an appointment. Luckily they weren't busy so we were able to get it done. The lady who cut his hair was super nice and really good. We were really happy with the results and definitely better than what I could do. Glad we stopped by and made him get his hair cut. I came in here with my 11yo son. He has spent over a year growing long hair, which he likes. He asked them to keep the length but trim it a bit to look nicer. He's had several trim cuts like this at another place as he's grown it out and it always came out fine and clean looking without taking off much length. The first attempt had very rough cut marks and looked like a terrible bowl cut, so I asked the more experienced stylist to clean it up a bit for him. She would only work with the clippers and was very rushed and aggressive with him. Every time I told her to clean up the EXTREMELY MESSY clipper lines in his hair I would say "the length is fine just please clean up these sloppy choppy areas" and she would turn around and take a couple more inches of length off with the buzzers. By the third attempt he was left with very short hair and was crying openly in the chair, which the stylist ignored as she kept going shorter and shorter. Then she picked a big fight with me after I complained for making him cry and cutting off all of his hard work. She told me she was going to take it up with the owner but of course the owner never called. QUICK, EASY, and EFFICIENT I started going to this Great Clips about 2 years ago and have really enjoyed the haircut process here...and I don't even like getting my hair cut. I was introduced to the mobile app by one of the stylists and it was a gamechanger. I simply schedule on the app, walk in when the app suggests, and within 3 minutes I'm in a chair getting my hair cut. For the haircut portion, I get the same thing every time and they already know what I want before a word has been said. I called this place because I liked the way a Factoria mall hair cut place cut my son's hair. Upon asking if this was the same place, when the gal realized I wasn't going to be a paying customer, she hung up on me! I'm a busy person, I wasn't blabbing on or anything. I would agree with others who say they would give zero store if they could. This place has the worst service. Went to get my son a haircut and when the stylist (she said she was the owner) asked my son what he wanted I was standing next to him giving her feedback. She told me to go sit down and that she had a policy that doesn't let parents stand and watch while she gives the cut. That she only listens to the person she's cutting. I told her i wanted to stand and watch since I was paying for it. She got aggravated and told me that she doesn't allow it. At this point, I told my son to get up and we both left It was the strangest and most condensing thing I've experience. Someone mentioned in their review that they felt uncomfortable and disrespected..I couldn't agree more. The manager or owner (hispanic looking lady) gives this vibe like she's a know it all..borderline condescending. I live one minute away and have been here quite a few times and had good experience with other stylist. But today was not pleasant. Will never come back. They don't seem to be super happy kids coming in. I have a 4 year old and at this location, the hair stylish made some obvious comments not to get the hair cut done. The reason she mentioned was the hair has too much of oil and she'll need to wash the hair first, for an additional charge of $6. I always got my hair done here when I was young. It was your average Dutch bob that made me look adorable. By then I started to experimenting a bit more and I went to different locations to get it done by this one. I came back to get a more of a boyish look then a girlish because I feel like it represents me a bit more. The lady I had told me that the pictures had to short of hair for me. She was rough with my hair and I'm pretty sure she made my scalp bleed. When i was 45 minutes I'm she started to encourage me to stop there and not go any further and I listened to her and the other people there and I regret it. But we moved here recently and still have boxes to unpack and things to organize at home, I didn't really feel like cleaning up after a haircut. So we made a first-time-ever trip to Great Clips. Tuan (or Toan?) cut my son's hair soon after we walked in last Monday morning, no waiting. Tuan is super friendly and you can tell he likes kids. The other stylist in the salon was super friendly to both me and my son as well. Anyway, Tuan did a good job on the quick haircut. My husband takes our three boys ages three, five, and 10 to get their haircut here every 4 to 6 weeks. It was an easy location to get to and he checks in with his phone app and they are able to get right in every time with very little to no wait time. The staff really seem to enjoy the antics of the three and five-year-old and are able to get the type of haircut we want n every time. I went to get a haircut from this place as it was close to my workplace but I realize that I should've read the reviews first. The lady with light blonde hair attended to me and I asked her for hair length that was above my shoulders and styled as a lob. When I came in, there weren't much people but while cutting my hair, she started rushing from the amount of people coming in and I ended with an unsatisfactory haircut. My hair was cut way shorter than I wanted and it was very choppy and too layered and my ends were very blunt. I even showed the lady a reference picture of the haircut. Phoung at the Newcastle Great Clips has cut my hair the last two times and neither cut was good. She says she will cut 1/2 inch and proceeds to cut well over an inch. Additionally, she did not cut my bangs completely but left the right side at least 1 1/2 inches longer. Her English is so limited I feel like I can not communicate my wishes to her. Very unhappy with my 3 visits to this location. This does not include the second time going today alone to get my hair cut again because it was still not how I asked for. After this second visit today it still is not how I asked for. I've gone in here 3 times, and each time my hair was either messed up drastically, or not close to what I asked for. These are not hard hair cuts either. The first time I went they missed a bunch of hair that was left uncut, even though it was a simple buzz cut. So rather than waste my time going back up, I just fixed it with cutters at my home. The second time I went in, was to get a buzz on my sides since I was keeping the top long to put into a pony tail. After going home and washing up, I noticed that a chunk of my hair was cut where it was not suppose to be cut. I didn't ask for anything other than cut within the lines. And behold they cut past the line to make a giant flat spot on the hair line. This last time which was today 12/19, I went and asked to get my hair cut into something easier to maintain. I showed the guy a photo of what I would like to have, which was short on the top and a blended cut from the side burns up. He cut my hair way too long and for some reason decided to puff it out on the sides. I thought that it would be fine once I took a shower and dried it out. It was not even close to what I asked for. So this time I went back to get it cut again, the guy didn't bother to look at what I wanted to have my hair look like, and began to cut my hair in a hurry. He didn't take his time to do it correctly, rather than to just do it fast and get me out of there since I did just cut in front of two people waiting. While I was there getting my hair re-cut, there was a young guy there who also was not happy with his haircut and had to have it re-done as well. After coming home and washing and drying my hair, I noticed that one side of my hair is cut short and the other is longer. So now it looks like one side is a flat top and the other side is curved down along my head line. I have already wasted more than 2 hours of my only day off since work is so busy for some half-a**d haircut. Not only is this not acceptable, but paying about $20 for something that no effort went into is rather irritating. One lady with really light hair never cuts hair the way you want it, the lady in the short black bob tried to avoid you by going to the back at their break room, and a blonde lady takes her time cleaning even when there is a full wait. Our experience at Great Clips has been amazing thanks to Crystal! We have followed her from Issaquah highlands to Coal Creek because she does an amazing job! She technical understanding of hair cutting techniques is definitely at a high level! When I asked for a specific type of cut and technique for my daughter - another stylist actually passed us onto Crystal! My daughters and I both go to Crystal and she never rushes - plus she always listens and confirms what we want before proceeding! Woman at the counter was rude about it and said that the other location was owned by someone else, even though the other location said the coupon was valid at ALL locations. I was also told my information would be in the computer system at ALL locations and this location had no info. This is a so-so place to get your hair cut. I stopped coming here for a few reasons: One) The shampoo's they were using on my hair gave me a nauseating headache for days after to the point of vomiting. 2) I kept getting tossed between hair stylists because they kept quitting. Prices may be affordable but you also get what you pay for. The last hair stylist gave me a hair cut that looked like a kid had taken a pair scissors and cut until they got some thing half way decent. I think I lasted at this place for about one year before I decided to move on. That would be about four hair cuts a year.
