You can tell the stylists like to gossip misinformation about their patrons, must not have a whole lot going on for them in their own lives or something to act so immature and low. One stylist identified herself as "supposedly" knowing my family "so well" so you can easily tell high school drama circles and insecurity fests never truly cease in this immediate area. Used to be very outward and friendly to standoffish/distant and spending noticeably little care or time towards my cut as once was in the beginning visits. I will never be going back to this high school operated location, if a Great Clips at all ever again. What a joke. read more

But immediately walking in to check in, a girl rudely just said "yeah?" And I was so caught off guard I think she saw the surprise in my face and corrected herself laughing saying I mean hi welcome in. After being sat down I showed her the bang on the pic I wanted and this is what I ended up with!!! After the first cut I immediately knew how terrible it was. She proceeded to be surprised herself and cleaned oh I didn't realize you had a cowlick, and then said I was I'm sorry I wouldn't normally cut it that short. But then continue to chuckle and the whole time trying to make it not seem like a big deal. She claimed it could hidden if you blow dry it and pin it back. I was trying to stay calm so when I said I didn't want her to finish cutting my hair, she started giving me an attitude. She claimed she was a "master stylist". MY PICTURES SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. Didn't catch her name Bc she never even gave it. But she sits on the firstfirst chair on the ride side of the salon. I went into the salon 12 minutes before closing with two people working and one girl was cutting someone's hair already. The "manager" came up and said sorry I am not taking anyone else I am to tired she was so rude and unprofessional. All I was trying to do is get a trim. I was willing to tip well and since she already had another person getting a hair cut she wasn't closing the store anytime soon. She didn't offer for me to come back tomorrow but told me sorry I am tired and it's up to me as the manager if I want to do the hair cut or not. I will never do business here again. I hate getting my hair cut because I always feel ripped off for what I get done. I just wanted a simple trim off the ends, a couple inches, so I figured, going to a cheap salon, a trim is pretty basic so any stylist should be able to handle that, right?! I was wrong. First off, the girl was rude, giving me some shit about how my hair isn't going to grow because I don't cut it monthly- um, miss, my hair has grown from my chin down to the middle of my back and I haven't cut my hair for almost a year. My hair is healthy because I don't put all these bullshit products in my hair and I don't dye it constantly or treat it with a bunch of overpriced crap. Also, the woman didn't even dry my hair even just a bit after she was done- let me go with soaking wet hair, I couldn't even tell what my hair cut looked like afterwards until I got home. I dried and straightened my hair, just to see how terrible this trim job was. Uneven ends, choppy looking, no flow. I know that each place is stylist dependent, but I would highly recommend not going to this location. Never again. read more

THE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE / SERVICE with Siohban I've been coming to this location for 3 years, ever since they reopened the staff is horrible. I've been here twice, because of convenience to home, but hate it. The first time is here was a couple months again and two of the employees were fighting over cutting hair using the (F) word. I just came in today and the lady was so rude. She asked if I checked in online and I said yes, then she said well I better get inside, because I was next. I was already inside and she was still cutting someone's hair. I'm not sure what she was even talking about. Then she asked "are we doing the same cut (this was for my son, he hasn't been in the for over a year) and I said "I don't remember what we did last time and she said "how do you not remember how your son cuts his hair. I have been to this location 4 times now. First time, the manager was cutting her boyfriends hair and a grumpy old man came in giving attitude about how long it would take. The manager proceeded to talk crap about the customer to everyone in the shop cursing and ranting all while cutting her boyfriends hair during work hours. He did not pay. The second time I went in, I recognized her right away and again, same negative vibe and attitude. A lady cutting my hair with BRIGHT RED dyed hair kept saying my hair was fake and not natural because I dyed it blonde. She then kept talking about how she was a red head and her hair was natural. It obviously was not. Then proceeded to tell me she didn't like my hair. Then near the end of the cut proceeded to say she loved my hair it was so beautiful and thick. I really liked the way my cut was but overall i left embarrassed. I went in on 1/13 and i had my hair just washed and put in some leave in conditioner to make it easier because my hair tends to be very difficult to work with if it's just dry. The lady who cut my hair said in a disgusted voice what did you put in your hair. So i told her it was leave in conditioner & she just laughed at it and the person next it to her station even said where's the bird it looks like bird poop.. honestly i was really embarrassed i didn't end up saying a word the whole time the cut was being done. She listened to me - did exactly what I asked and I walked out feeling like a million bucks! Ashley R. Is great. I love the salon. I have gone to great clips for years but this was my first visit to this location. I asked for a bob hair cut bringing my hair length to chin length. Apparently the stylist got lost along the way because I ended up with a very short Elizabeth Warren style cut. I have a large head. This hair cut makes me look awful. My daughter got her hair cut by another stylist who also doesn't know how to cut hair. We will not be going back to this location nor any other Great Clips ever again. read more

Went to go get a hair cut here, I have extremely long hair so it gets tangled when you try to brush it while wet, but the lady did so anyways. It was extremely painful, I wanted to cry, but I held it in so I didn't make her feel bad. In the end, 3 handfuls of hair in total was pulled out, I started crying when I got to my car. Jealous of how easy it is for my boys to get their haircut here, I thought why not me? MUST use app for check-in. There is an hour plus wait routinely at this location. So plan on checking in on the app 1 hour before you want your hair cut. Sara did an awesome, quick job trimming my hair and adding layers. Total cost $14! Horrific service, no temp checks or questions asked, no hand sanitizer offered, no customer service or communication, constantly checking phone and talking and distracted and then worried the head persons coming in so she's hiding all of her stuff and constantly leaving to see if she's here. I had Vera cut my hair today and I am very happy with the result. Everyone there was super friendly and everything was clean. The best part was when I called ahead to see what the wait time was and the girl who answered the phone told me about checking in online. You don't have to make an appointment or anything, just check in online or through their app and you can skip the waiting! Alyssa did I great job of cutting my hair, very good communication and listening about what I wanted. I need to get back in actually it was some months ago. (They had an annual sale or something going?) I just haven't found the time when she is there and I'm always hesitant to try someone new (anywhere). You can't beat the cost I used to be a Toni and Guy customer among others so it's nice to find somewhere that's at a lower budget. Personally I got a same day appt. and was in and out fairly quickly for that. Note: As someone else who earns commission with tips in a different industry I try to tip in accordance with the prices at "higher end" salons. Not by 20% of the Great Clips Price because um personally I'd like to not lose a good stylist to another place that pays them more. It's just better for me in the long run that way, so if you need a selfish reason to tip properly I hope that's it. I say this even though I think it should be obvious because I saw someone else tip like 15% of the sale price, I mean seriously??? I hope that's rare, I really do. I sat there for a hour and half listening to the stylist arguing about who was going to do my hair because none of them wanted too do it ... they completely ignored me kept taking care of costumers that where coming in the door ..they so unprofessional ... I recently had a couple of visits to this location, approximately 4 months apart. Each time, I used my Visa card and they charged me a dollar more than the amount I signed on the receipt. The first time I didn't care much. But on the second time, I used a coupon ($8.99) for my hair cut and added a tip of $2.01, and wrote the total of $11.00 on the receipt and signed it. I purposely saved the receipt as I might need it later. After a couple of days when I checked my account online, there was a $12.00 charge on my account from Greatclips. When I called the bank, they mentioned the $12.00 charge was coming from the merchant and ensured no fee was charged at the bank's side. When I called the Greatclips store, store manager asked for every detail and said 'Yes we charged you 12 dollars (8.99 for the haircut and 3.01 tip), our staff might have accidentally(!) hit the wrong button, If you want your dollar back (!) , come and get it. I can not put the dollar back on your card.' If they are able to charge a dollar more, they can charge any amount they want to. Not much help from bank either. Poor customer service altogether. I had been to several Greatclips locations in the valley, but never had this experience anywhere else. The general manager of this location is a poor sport and is harassing all the local sports clips stores for marketing their new location on 99th lake pleasant. It is not illegal to make against your competitors in same area. I understand she is worried sports clips offers better service and environment, but still is not a reason to call sports clips locations and harass them very un professional and I don't recommend you support her location. read more
