Took my son for his first ever haircut yesterday. He is non verbal autistic, and has never had his haircut by anyone other than Mom or Dad. Abby was his hairdresser; both she and all the other staff were so friendly and accommodating to whatever he might need to have a positive experience! Special thank you to Abby; without your understanding and kind manner, my son could've had a very challenging experience. Not the greatest Great Clips but I'm still grateful it's close. Quality depends on the stylist. Out of 6-8 haircut experiences here, perhaps 2 have been below average to poor for a Great Clips. Another couple have been excellent. The rest are sorta Great Clipsy, which means suitable for your upcoming job interview at the Safeway Deli Counter. The "check in" feature on their website has become damn near mandatory. This is nice because it bumps you ahead of the "walk-ins," but it also means you kinda get screwed if you are a walk-in. It also adds another layer of monotony to an already monotonous chore, ie. spending 2 minutes checking in on your phone approximately 10-15 minutes before walking in the door. In any case, I'm a Great Clips loyalist and am very happy with them overall. I'm maybe just suggest getting a few low-stakes haircuts here and zeroing in on a favorite stylist you can ask for by name. read more

I went in to get one inch cut off the bottom of my hair. Then I specifically explained how I wanted a tiny amount of cutting or layering of a specific amount of hair on the back of my head.I parted my hair and showed the stylist EXACTLY how much hair to feather. She said [I see you want height in the back of your head} then she flipped my hair up and cut close to my skull. She was so fast I could not stop her. I was shocked and said No that is not want i want!! I could not believe she cut my hair like that. It takes me years to grow my ultra thin hair. Then she charged me for 'Layering'. I always leave a large tip it is not about the money it is that this stylist did no do as I ask. read more

I have never had a bad hair cut but checking in here is always interesting. You checkin in with a 5 minute wait and since I live about 2 minutes away I think they will be close. They then tell you there will be a 30 minute wait. This check in system is terrible! Make appointments like other salons do. It's a system that has worked fine for years! read more

This review is for Mallory, who cuts hair in the South Hill Great Clips salon. I'll start by saying I'm fairly new to Spokane, and in the past year, I haven't had the best luck with haircuts. I have very short hair that requires a precision cut. I went to Great Clips yesterday for a "correction" on my hair from a different salon. Mallory nailed it. I've been looking for someone of Mallory's caliber and professionalism for a very long time. There's not one single problem with my hair. Thank you so much, Mallory, for an awesome haircut!! I am not to sure how this will work out, I checked in online and when I arrived there were three other customers in the waiting area and the male hairstylist asks "Did you check in online?" I said I had and he says (one has to guess to all of us) "I don't know where my (unintelligible) is, I don't know where she is but I'm not taking anymore". Awesome. So glad I left my house. That check in online thing is a joke. It said 24 minutes as an estimate then as I check in it says hey you have ten minutes. Oh crap. I get here and there are three guys waiting, one in the chair and one surly hairstylist. I can't imagine this will get any better... But I am waiting to see if Mr. Surly kicks us out or if his errant coworker returns. read more

I walked in and was seated right away. The girl cutting my hair was nice but she didn't exactly do what I asked. I was on my way somewhere else so didn't want to have her correct it. If I could offer a zero, this place would take the cake! Checked in online...said wait was 13 minut es. Drove straight there (3 minutes from house) When I walked in 2 people were ahead on the list and my new wait time was 49 minutes. 2 people were taken ahead, then a 3rd person not on the list was taken back ahead of us. I have been going to this location for years. Jerry was my stylist. He never let me down. He got an award for being #1 in the nation for return customers at all Great Clips locations. You would think that would be a good thing, but management actually frowned on it. They wanted it to more like an assembly line. Get 'em in and get 'em out as fast as possible. Well Jerry built up a huge clientele. He rarely had any downtime his whole shift. Several times I went there and everyone that was waiting, was waiting for Jerry. Sure he likes to talk but that's what keeps people coming back. I'm sure his cuts were a bit longer than the other stylists, but by the end of the day, he probably logged more clients, and more tips for sure. Turns out they forced him out of that location. They tried to tell me he was a "floater" between locations and that they couldn't tell me where he was that day. That was untrue. I found out later that they moved him to another location. With the virus shutting down the salons, I'm not sure where I am going to go when they open up. read more

Dana is a horrible hairdresser and rude as well. 100% guarantee? How? My left cheek. I was told it want her problem when she took my 11 year old son back and shaved his head. He was devastated and crying, wants to quit basketball. He's been going to the same location for 10 years. He's at the same haircut every time. She just dismissed the notes when he said he thought his haircut was a 1 and a 3, not knowing what he was talking about because he's 11. The she told me that I need to sit with him in the future. The online check-in is a joke, today I checked and the wait time said 5 minutes. When I got there I had 5 people in front of me and a 62 minute wait. This is a scam to get people in the door, it has happened more than once. Also, poor customer service when I asked to talk to a manager. read more

A decent place for an inexpensive haircut, but they rarely ask you what services you want: shampoo? blow dry? style? The folks there are nice but I tend to choose different Great Clips stores over this one, even if it's farther to drive. The older gentleman there shares too many of his personal opinions with total strangers without knowing if he's offending them. read more

I come to Great Clips for haircuts because Jerry does excellent work. His cuts are consistent and always what I like. I have fine hair that is not the easiest to cut. When Jerry cuts my hair it is easily the same or better quality haircut I have received at much more expensive salons. Well worth the time and money. THANK YOU! read more
