We have ordered from Great Dragon in Minneapolis several times since moving. When I say "several" I am saying a minimum of once a week for the past 4 months. Sometimes even twice a week. BUT! Tonight was the first time we had an issue with seafood being in my food. Which is a BIG concern as I am extremely allergic to seafood. We called to bring this to the restaurant's attention or talk to the manager: "Chen", but the person who answered the phone argued with us and eventually hung up on us. We will be bringing this incident to the health department's attention along with expressing to other future diners on all necessary social media sites to BEWARE of Great Dragon Chinese Restaurant in Minneapolis. This is just your typical cheap Chinese delivery place. There is noting special about it. I ordered wonton soup, chicken lo mein, and the orange chicken dinner combo which came with fried rice and an egg roll. Delivery was easy, I just ordered online with no fuss. My food arrived hot in just over 30 minutes. Overall, the food was okay. The lo mein was lacking flavor, but the orange chicken is just about what you expect from a cheap Chinese place. Echoing other people's reviews, Great Dragon is not "Great" flavor-wise...don't expect your orange chicken to be made with free-range poultry and freshly squeezed orange. You know it's coming from a commercial, automated, lifeless facility and delivered to Great Dragon in a vacuum-sealed, frozen bag. Get real, people; this is your $6.50-for-2-lbs.-of-food type of Chinese restaurant, not PF Chang's. Although, quality-wise, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I suppose that's a compliment to both restaurants. Thankfully, Great Dragon is able to coax (or is it coat?) some decent flavors from their dishes, and they deliver it to you super fast and super hot, too. The people who take your order are very efficient and have good hearing (which is more than I can say for another delivery experience I've had in the Twin Cities), and they care to repeat your order to make sure they have it right. I don't believe they've given me ETAs for the delivery, but they almost always come under half an hour. I'm tempted to try other dishes, but ultimately choose between General Tso's, Orange Chicken, and Sesame Chicken. Again, your typical Americanized Chinese fare with a side (actually an entire meal) of fried rice and an egg roll. I would advise nibbling on the eggroll first versus devouring the whole thing. Unlike the other parts of the meal that are doused in sauce, the egg roll can sometimes taste a lot like the oil it was cooked in, which is not appealing. Otherwise, Great Dragon's phone number is a good one to have on your contact list, for those lazy weeknights when all you wanna do is eat good-tasting, cheap Chinese food that's delivered fast with a smile and a fortune cookie. We have been ordering from this takeout place for over six years and will no longer be ordering from here. For six years, we have ordered the Mai Fun without onions or cabbage. Pretty simple, right? Tonight, our Mai Fun came with onions and cabbage. When we called up to complain, we were rudely told that there was no onions or cabbage, it is Bok Choy. FYI, Bok Choy is a cabbage. I tried to explain how we didn't specify Bok Choy but we said cabbage and I was rudely told how their other customers know what they're ordering(even though they don't list ingredients). She offered no apology and said she wouldn't do anything for us. She clearly did not appreciate our years of loyalty. This place is nothing special. The food is like any other Chinese restaurant. Don't order from them, order from a place that appreciates their customers. read more

I absolutely don't agree with any of these reviews. I have ordered from Great Dragon probably once a month for the last year and have always enjoyed it. It comes in a reasonable time frame, always well packaged and piping hot. I have never had an issue with my order, the quality of the food, or the delivery service. I have been treated cordially and that is all I ask. If you are looking for good food at a reasonable price, (even a lot of food at a reasonable price) I would definitely recommend this place. Pretty good! Fried rice was just phenomenal! So much flavor, didn't need a drop of soy sauce. Got some Fried Pork Wontons as well, very good, very crispy, even after delivery. Sweet and sour pork is amazing! Very pleasant experience here, and the delivery was ver, very, fast. Did order no onions in my rice, and instead they put about a pound onions in there, but besides that it was absulutely fantastic. I'll have to be a little more aggressive with my "no onions" request next time, but the bright side is, there will be a next time! Can't wait to try some other things on the menu, if it's as good as my first experience, then they'll be getting a lot of business from myself, and my co-workers as well! read more

The place appeared to be rather busy so I am not sure why the food was apparently sitting around in its own juices for an extended duration. The driver would 100% insult costumer if you don't give enough tip or not cash tip. When I say insult I mean real insult, old Chinese guy would say "fuck you" in a stupid accent. Great dragon has been my go to comfort Chinese food for the last year and a half. I've had almost no bad experiences, treated as graciously as I treat the employees, and always speedy preparation. They even waited for me to pick up my order (10 minutes past closing) while I was driving from work. This is a huge portion and decent flavor for a great price. I didn't get the correct items, and when I called the restaurant the woman argued with me and didn't do anything to correct the situation. Great dragon was exactly on time with delivery they gave me a 40 minute window and was there within 40 minutes. Which was great because I was starving. I ordered a large shrimp fried rice and my spouse ordered beef lo mein. The food was nice and hot. I didn't have to re heat anything. Napkins and sauces were plentiful inside of the bag. We recently moved to the area and in a scramble to figure out something for dinner, we stumbled upon Great Dragon. I was very impressed with how quickly our food arrived, however, definitely not impressed with what we received. We ordered the "Seafood Combination" and the "Shrimp Lo Mein." All of the seafood, especially the scallops, tasted like it was not fresh. I have found myself wishing that I would have checked Yelp prior to ordering as the other reviews are very telling to their food quality. Cheap and within walking distance of my workplace, which is why I carry out from here on occasion. The lunch special is a good price and certainly worth walking to. The dominant flavor in everything I've gotten was sweet, and the dominant texture was oily. I have always asked for my food extra spicy, and each time it has not been even remotely spicy. Don't bother paying for the extra vegetables; they're soggy and few and far between. If you want hot food and cant be arsed to make it yourself, go for it. It's acceptable. read more
