Filthy exam room, zero follow up and held medically hostage for 8 months. Do not use this office under any circumstance! I was forced into this office by One Call for a workplace accident and failed implant. I was brought back to an exam room that was in disgusting condition. The equipment stand was rusty as well as the dented trash can (with the open sharps container on top). The exam chair itself was equally rusty, marked by unknown substances and had corrosion around the armature for the tray. I was told that this office and Dr. Shah were my only option for care, after complaining and sending the attached photos to One Call and to the practice I was ghosted by Dr. Shah, rather than apologize and take care of the problems! I had to file a petition through the court to be re-assigned. 8 months of pain and repeated infections while this office did not return a single call or e-mail. I've been a patient here for about 2-3 years and ordered retainers in November, paying a $560 fee. I was told the turnaround time would be 2-3 weeks. My original appointment to pick them up was scheduled for early December but was canceled and rescheduled for (12/16). That appointment was then pushed again to (1/23). When I arrived for my appointment on Friday (1/23), I waited for over an hour only to be told that my retainers still had not arrived. At that point, I requested a refund since I had been waiting nearly three months for an item that was supposed to take only a few weeks. I spoke directly with Cynthia Hill, who told me she would contact me the same day to confirm that my refund was being processed. After hearing nothing, I called again on Monday (1/26). I was then told that she was still waiting to hear back from the office that manufactures the retainers. As of today, (1/29), I have neither received my retainers nor any confirmation that my refund is being processed. I wish I had checked this review before going to the office. I also discovered that the BBB gives the a F. First, they failed to explain the procedure and what to expect when having a tooth pulled. Quite naturally I have had many teeth pulled before over the years, I'm 67 yrs old. Not remembering what to expect I would certainly think that the office and the dentist would explain everything, to me. However, what was told to me lead me to believe something else. At the first visit of course the dentist's assistant took x-rays of the tooth only. Upon the dentist entering and viewing the one xray. She asked the assistance "where is the panoramic view?" Then she proceeded to do just that. I had already stated I just wanted it pulled. Also at the time of the first call a second appointment was made, I had assumed would be for the pulling of the tooth. Since no one explained to me elsewise. So, when I turned up for the app. 2 weeks later. After expecting that to be the day for the procedure right. However, when the assistant came in and stated "today the dentist would be in to examine the site. My reaction was, "No it is to be pulled today." She replied not today. You must make another app. for that. So, after preparing for this situation in advance, as far as care, eating, and other preparation needed. Let me just say the situation was not pretty! I was levied to say the least. So, having to make another appointment for another 2 weeks wait. Now I'm steaming! I went back to have this done. It went fine, and it came out with no problem, so I thought. Now here 4 weeks later I am still hurting and in constant pain and taking pills. I called to make an app. to have it looked at. Which did happen. But that night I couldn't take it anymore. I went to the emergency care center. What they found was a small piece of tooth lodged in the outside of my gums just to the right of the extraction site. And infection had started to set in. After contacting the office, I was told that "It is common for that to happen." But, it won't be common if you properly clean and examined the mouth after the procedure is complete! I'm surprised this place is still in business. Seriously, stay away. They are vultures. They have a bottom-of-the-basement rating from the BBB. If I could give this place no stars, I would. I took my 6-year-old to see the pediatric dentist. After a long wait to verify insurance, they told me my kid needed 7 fillings, two crowns (on baby teeth). Total work was going to cost $1,000 after insurance. I went for a second opinion and that pediatric dentist was aghast. He recommended two tiny fillings (which were a stretch), absolutely no need for crowns, didn't see cavities on the other teeth. This place is run like a cattle call. They have no scruples. They wanted to charge me $300 (which insurance doesn't cover) for "behavior management." That is code for pay us $300 in case we need to restrain your kid while we do unnecessary dental work. They also wanted to charge for anesthesia, which the second doctor said was unnecessary. These people are unbelievably unethical. read more

Horrible experience! If I could give no stars, I would! I came in for a routine cleaning and x-rays like I have been doing my whole life, but let me tell you this place operates completely different! They outright refused to clean my teeth unless I agreed to a deep cleaning that cost me $400 and would be done over two different appointments. Mind you I have perfect oral hygiene. I do not require anything like this. They are just trying to get you to spend for unnecessary things that you did not want and overcharge you and do extra things! This place is very shady, and they should be ashamed of themselves. Training employees to do this to people. I am outraged! Secondly, when they did my x-rays, one of the items they use that you have to bite down on why they snap the picture is completely oversized and hurt the area under my tongue so bad and yet I still had to keep biting down repeatedly after I explained that it was very painful! The girl told me that everyone says that and that it hurts everyone!!! I've never never had pain while getting x-rays before! I'm literally so unhappy with a place like this that is just the worst it could be! I don't really blame the employees because they're just doing their job! It's great expressions company that is horrible and needs to be put out of business! I urge everyone to write a review after your experience there I see they already have less than two stars ! Again, they refuse to give me a regular cleaning and check up !!! The reason I purchased insurance in the specific company and plan was so that my copayments would be 30.00 or less when getting routine cleanings and x-rays !! They charged me $63 and I didn't get a cleaning all they did was poke around in my mouth do a bunch of extra x-rays and tell me that I need over $1000 worth of work in my mouth! Awful experience. Booked an appointment online for 3pm and got the email confirmation. I arrived to my appointment with the paperwork already filled out and was told they didn't show an appointment for me. I showed them my confirmation email and the front desk associate went to talk to the dentist who refused to fit me in because it wasn't their fault there was a system glitch in saving my appointment. Well it wasn't my fault either and it's extremely difficult for me to get time off work. They offered no solutions. I tried calling their customer service line to see if a nearby office could fit me in and I've now been on hold for over 30 minutes. Seems like a very poorly run company. My wife had booked an appointment for the same day and the "dental plan" and pricing they gave her, even with insurance, was outrageous. read more

These reviews aren't lying, that's a definite. I went in for a cleaning and it's true that regardless of what insurance you have, they will bill you for something more. I got a cleaning and they billed me $100+ more than my co-pay. It was crazy. I also went back to get my top wisdom teeth taken out and had an appointment at 4:00pm and was not seen until 5:30pm. There is no over-exaggeration there and I was not the only one waiting. A lot of us were fed up with the wait times and were concerned if we were going to be seen at all! The dentist who took my wisdom teeth out was cool and did it under 5 minutes but to have waited as long as I have for an appointment that I had already made was ridiculous. Also, do not give them your e-mail address as it will only be used for their marketing purposes to bring you back in. Even after you've unsubscribed, the emails will still come. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I had a full mouth extraction, to which the provided no *specific* instructions in writing on how to take care of the dentures or any realistic explanations of what to expect. WORST OF ALL, after waiting 3 months to get a second surgery to shave down bone, THEY gave me the wrong medication, which led to me not being able to have the twilight sedation that I paid for, signed intake paper for, DISCUSSED WITH the surgeon that morning, and literally - due to my anxiety - is what I have to do for those major of surgery. They aim to do everything as cheap, easy, quick, and overbooked as possible. They terminated our "relationship" a week and a half before I was scheduled for the bone-shaving surgery, leaving me missing MONTHS of work. Also, they were going to charge me about $2500 for the oral surgeon to do the BARE MINIMUM of shaving, whereas ***SAGE DENTAL*** - the place I switched to - is going to cost $110 to do it the actual RIGHT way and shave off ALL the bumps. This place is a complete racket! Made an appointment to have my teeth cleaned spent an hour and a half there being "checked" I had to make another appointment to have a cleaning done. In addition they told me that they wanted me to pay $150 more for a different cleaning than my insurance covers. Even though I am entitled to a free general cleaning they are refusing to treat me unless I pay for the more expensive one. In addition to that I was sent a bill for the office services. My husband and I went in on the same day...had the same exam...same services provided and have the same insurance, he was billed nothing and I was given an outstanding bill. I had a tooth with a cavity that broke and needed a crown. Dr. Lesley-Anne Phuket did a fantastic job. Even the shot to inject the Novocain didn't hurt. I don't know the name of her assistant but she was terrific also. The temporary crown fits perfect and I look forward to getting my permanent crown in three weeks. Best dentist visit I have ever had and I am 71 years old so I have visited my share of dentist. NEVER COME HERE!!!!! Absolutely horrible experience. I brought my kids here as new patients. My 13 yr old daughter advised of the unproffesionalism that occurred between the dental assistants during her appt. After their appt, I went to take pictures of the x-rays and the Dr. advised they only took a pano on her, because their "x-rays aren't working". The Dr. spent 2 min with them. I asked if any work was needed and he said both kids looked fine, just to see ortho. My daughter has a lot of dental issues and I really wanted to come up with a treatment plan for her. He was very short with me and speaking to him was rushed and it wasn't seeming like he was willing to answer any of my questions. We left and I called the next day to get my sons x-rays sent to me. They advised I needed to fill out a medical release form in order for me to have my own kid's x-rays sent to me. I filled it out anyway and they said they would send them. I called after that to make sure they got them, I was put on hold and no one ever came back. I then called multiple times for the next week after never receiving them and no one ever answered. My daughter came to me a couple days ago crying because she had an abscess in her mouth. I called the office the next day, finally got through, spoke to the office manager Frankie who said I needed to talk to the dental assistant. I told her I wanted the x-rays sent to me and I wanted to see the other provider at the office. She was very rude, disrespectful, and talked over me multiple times. She told me I'm not allowed to see a different Dr., refused to send my x-rays and then hung up on me. I called another location and spoke to the operations manager Nicole who was very nice and apologized for everything. She helped me make an appointment at another location because I didn't want to take them back there and sent my x-rays. On the x-rays I could clearly see the abscess on her gum that the Dr. missed. I went to the appt today, after signing in and filling out the paperwork some lady walked up to the front desk and said I didn't have an appt there, Nicole was supposed to call me, and I'm dismissed from the other office and therefore could not go to any of their  offices. We took off work and school to come to this appt because I wanted my daughter to get in asap. I could not believe that after the way I was treated, refusing to send me my x-rays, and the Dr. 's lack of proper treatment and care to do his job, they try to dismiss us after I decide to go to another office. It's disgusting, unprofessional and at the expense of children's health and care. No wonder why they have an F with the Better Business Bureau. read more

If you have a child, don't plan to be with your child when he/she goes back. They wouldn't let me go back with my 6 year old for his check up, cleaning, and xrays. Then they come up and the lady's English was so broken, I had to ask her what she said, three times. I finally realized she was saying he had a cavity and needed I filling. Guess what, they don't do porcelain fillings either. Then they wouldn't let me go back there while they give my child laughing gas and conduct the filling. SCAM! If you have insurance (mine's Humana), they'll try diagnosing you with periodontal disease and recommend unnecessary treatment. Why? Because instead of giving you your included biannual cleaning with low profit margins, they can code your cleanings differently from then on, making much more money off of you. It's a corporate racket designed to milk the system. I refused treatment and went elsewhere. I was rechecked for periodontal disease by an excellent dentist in the area and he confirmed my suspicions: 1) I was fine. 2) that scam is exactly what they were doing. 3) they are well known to do this by those within the industry. read more

I had the worst experience with great expressions and the pediatric dentist there. I took my daughter there for a check up and they wont allow me to go in with my daughter which i did not like because there is no way of telling whats going on in the back. Also i went back there to have a small paper filled out so my daughter can start headstart and check this out!!!!!! They said the pediatric dentist is not there today and she is at the riverview location. Well i went there to get the paper filled out and the lady at the front desk said i have to come back because she is busy but leave the paper. When i returned the lady at the front desk said that the dentist wont sign it because her chart at the brandon location and she will be there the next day. I went to brandon location and they said the dentist is at tampa location and i should leave the paper there for her to fill out and they will call me. Well they did call back and promise they would fax it to headstart for me which did not have . All of the was in july and we in october and i still cant get the paper sign and headstart is saying they may have to take my child out of class. All i need from great expressions is a signature on a paper saying my daughter visited the dentist and i cant get that. I am done with this place i am never going back there. My daughter was having her cavities filled. She came out crying, my daughter has a high tolerance to pain. She said she felt everything and she couldn't tell the lady because the lady kept yelling at her to sit still and that she was old enough to not move around, instead of thinking gee maybe this 13 year old can feel this maybe I should stop, no they kept going! They said they gave her what they could for her age and weight limit but it didn't work. My daughter had to go through all that pain and they didn't seem to notice or care. I trusted them to take care of my daughter since they don't let parents back with kids. The front receptionists clearly hate their lives or at least their jobs. The hygienist seemed scared and incompetent. I waited over 2 hours previously for my husband to be seen but I thought it was just because it was a late afternoon appointment. So when I needed to see the dentist, I scheduled early on a weekday morning. It was still a 50 minute wait and there were only a few other people in the waiting room. After such a long wait, I was finally taken back and then told by the hygienist that my case was abnormal and therefore they could not clean my teeth that day and I'd have to make another appointment. So an hour of my life was wasted and absolutely nothing was done. My family will never go to this dental group again and I will make sure I spread the word on how awful this place is. read more

My worse experience with a dental office... the service is too bad.. I never have the opportunity to talk with the dentist, she just take a look of my X-rays and then the assistant give me the estimated about all the procedures she needs to do... hey.. we are talking about $8,000 and the Dentist don't have the time to explain me with details why?!... In top of this... they send me an invoice to pay for the X-rays because my insurance has not coverage... What the hell!! So, they do the X-rays they want to do.. (obviously which are not coverage by my insurance) and don't asked me before if I can pay or if I want to continue with the services... btw... I just do a routine cleaning and guess what?! was better if I do by my self.. I'm agree that the practice make the perfection but how you gonna leave a new employee doing the work by her self... at least you need to supervised her...
