Dr. Charmi Vakharia is amazing! My daughter chipped her tooth, I went to another dental office that gave me such a hard time with the insurance auth process. I went to Great Expressions on a whim out of pure frustration. What I found was a jewel. Dr. Vakharia was on her way out of the country and stayed later than she should have to help us and fixed her chip! Her kindness is not something I'll forget. Today, I went to the dentist to fix my 6 year old daughter teeth for a fix of a silver teeth. They took my daughter into the room and did not give her anesthesia and just decided to pull her tooth out. My daughter was screaming in agony and they didn't even apologize and gave an annoyed look. Great Expression is my go to place for everything Dental. The location is great and close to home and other stores like Publix. Every review here is subjective and can go either way for anyone at any time. However I leave honest review based on my experience alone. The ladies are super nice and very courteous. They make my appointments easily and send out reminders which helps. The Dentist and Dental Assistants are awesome. They provide outstanding service and give you a thorough examination with solutions. I never feel pressured for anything extra. One person that truly stands out is Jamie. She attended to me every time I have been there and she is superb. She is a gold star employee and is the reason why I continue to visit this Dentistry. read more

Came to this place as a new patient for a check up and cleaning. They refused to do either one and told me I needed to sign up for a $425 dollar treatment plan that I had to pay every 3 months and told me I was not allowed to refuse it. After telling them I wasn't doing it and was going to leave they tried to trick me into signing a payment agreement for their services by saying it was just to confirm that everything was reviewed with me. After reading it out loud to them saying that it said I am agreeing to pay for their services they still continued to lie about it. Made an appointment for my two boys who are ages 7 and 11. Upon arrival I was told parents were not allowed back during exams, treatment, cleanings and xrays. Their policy is that I, the father, was to wait in the waiting room. I have never been to a dentist where a parent could not accompany their children. I did not know such an office existed. This is not a child friendly dentist. My children are not totally comfortable at the dentist and what parent would want their minor children alone with stranger adults? Practice is also in a strip mall next to a grocery store and looked really small in back as much as they let me see of it. I don't usually post stuff like this but did not want other parents to waste their time like I did with this office. I brought my granddaughter yesterday 7/12/2024 who was 15 years old she was really nervous about going to the dentist because her first experience was very negative. She needed a lot of work done, a crown and some fillings, Dr. Patel, who has only been there a couple of months and his staff were absolutely amazing, they were very gentle with my granddaughter. They were very patient. It was a long process. They finished all the work in one day, Dr. Patel even stayed after hours instead of breaking it up into multiple appointments like most dentists do gave her multiple breaks, Dr Patel expressed at the beginning his goal was to make sure she has a positive experience. By the time we left, she was smiling and very happy. I would definitely recommend this group if you're needing a dentist and if you've had any bad experiences in the past . After being told by the hygienist that my teeth and gums were in excellent shape I was presented with a proposal for a ton of additional work that "needed" to be done. When I declined, they refused to even clean my teeth if I didn't concur with their proposal. Ridiculous. I am posting my review of a doctor that i saw in the Zephyrhills office however I think it should be shared with the Wesley chapel office because this dentist also practices here. My husband took in my 6 year old daughter yesterday for an annual cleaning. This is her first time going in since we have been out of the military and her first time with a civilian doctor. At first the visit went well with the front office staff, however, once she was seen by dr. Lakshmi, things went south. If anyone knows my daughter she is VERY obsessive about the cleanliness of her teeth and she prides herself on being the best "brusher" of the family. The doctor kept accusing her of not brushing at all and insisted that she be put in braces for her baby teeth ( she has only lost two lower front teeth) due to a slight overbite. My husband scoffed and made it a point to tell her that Ella takes very good care of her teeth and we will be seeing someone else from now on. Once that was pointed out dr. Lakshmi did not educate her on proper technique, that she allegedly did not adhere to. My daughter left in tears saying that " she called me a liar and all I was trying to say is that I brush a lot because i love to brush! Am I a bad kid? I'm so sorry." It took all night to calm her down and reassure her that while she could always do better when brushing, she is by far not a bad kid! So if you'd like to see a dental practice that replicates the personality of a wet mop, then by all means I'd recommend greater expressions Zephyrhills pediatric dentists. read more

No compassion for children whatsoever. I would never return. Not only do they make you wait hours past your appointment time but my son told me the doctor was mean to him. And he's such a sweet boy. I've never heard him say that about anyone especially a doctor I'm paying for him to see. She was also extremely rude to me. Don't be a doctor if you have no compassion for people. She belongs elsewhere. Not treating patients. Their BBB rating is an F so that says a lot. And fake google reviews trick you into thinking it's a good office. I would not recommend this dental orthodontist at all. The communication between the two offices are the worst and they set appointments at the same time to be at two different places. If I would of known this was going to be such a headache I would of kept my child in the other Orthodontist they were in. Since we been here at this office it's been nothing but the worst. I will make sure not to recommend them to any of my friends or family. Great Expressions Dental Centers - Pediatric Dentists Near Me - Wesley Chapel, Florida

I usually get my cleanings from the Citrus Park location, but they have been unreachable due to COVID-19. So, I scheduled an appointment at the Wesley Chapel location. The wait time was 30 days because I wanted to be scheduled when the dentist AND hygienist were working so both an exam and cleaning could be accomplished in the same day. When I made the appointment, the receptionist explained that I didn't need x-rays because they could access my records from the Citrus Park location and my last x-rays were nine months ago. The office called the day before my appointment to confirm. I arrived for my appointment and filled out the routine paper. A dental assistant called me back, put me in the chair and reviewed the pricing. The office requires a mandatory fee for IPE (called infection control fee) which THEY say is not reimbursed by insurance. They could have mentioned this fee when they called to confirm my appointment so I could have confirmed with my insurance company. She completed the x-rays and the dentist preformed the exam. After the exam, the dentist told me that I wouldn't get a cleaning because the hygienist wasn't working today. I asked why I was not informed about this earlier and he gave a long explanation (about their scheduling problems) that didn't pertain to me. I should have been told that the hygienist wasn't working when they called the day prior or when I signed in for my appointment. The assistant returned with an estimate for a "special" cleaning program that I NEEDED. It was outrageously higher than the standard cleaning and required three visits. They do a lot of up-selling. I asked her to simply schedule me for a standard cleaning and she said that it would be illegal for a hygienist to preform a standard cleaning based on my records. I've never heard anything like this from any dentist that I've visited. I told her that I received a standard cleaning from the Great Expressions office in Citrus Park in December and they never mentioned anything about this "special" cleaning. I went to the receptionist when I was finished and asked who made my initial appointment. She said, "are you asking because the hygienist isn't working today?". This let me know that the change with the hygienist wasn't short notice. They should have called me as soon as the hygienist changed their schedule so I wouldn't have waisted my time coming in just for an exam. This situation shows that they are concerned with making money and not the health of the patients. I requested my records and will find another dentist. I DO NOT recommend any of the Great Expressions Dental Centers. Follow-up: I contacted my insurance company regarding the IPE charge. This is the response: The provider should not be billing you for the IPE fee as they are a participating provider. They should be submitting for it on the claim along with the services they provided for you. read more

I've been going here for a few years now. Usually I have no issues with this place, however, today it seemed as though the entire office had a brand new set of staff who didn't really know what they were doing. My normal hygienist was not there either so I had a gentleman fill in. He seemed rather pleasant but was sort of rough with the tools. There were parts that seemed to hurt more than usual for just a routine cleaning. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the fact that I was in and out of there within 35 minutes, but my gums were sore thereafter. I just hope that my next visit is a bit more back to the norm than it was today. read more

Avoid the Wesley Chapel office at all cost. They tell you what work you need..they say they checked with insurance company and tell you it's all covered and you agree to the work to only find out you were not covered. You then get a bill and they tell you that you have to pay it or they will send you to collections. We called our insurance company and they informed us that we were not covered and that the office knows this. Talk about a scam they are running there. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! This is the absolute WORST dental office I have ever been to in my life. They make you wait forever to see the dentist/hygienist. My first appointment with them was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. and even got there early to fill out paper work. Patiently waited until 9:15 a.m. and then asked when I would be taken back and the receptionist tells me my appointment is at 9 a.m., which was a lie.They overcharge you, even if you're fully covered by insurance, and when you ask for a refund, they offer "credit." I demanded a refund instead of credit and after three months of calling to check in and the front desk promising they submitted a request for a refund, we never received one so gave up and just went in for a service to use up the credit to not go back. We have had problems with this office before however I found this situation to be quite noteworthy. **side note, this was my first scheduled appointment with this dentist but that's nothing new because of the "high turn around" with the staff anyway. I had a scheduled appointment today with Dr. Rostami for a dental check up. I'd have to say that she is highly unprofessional and has no regard OR respect for the patients. After getting X-rays I was informed that, after taking the entire day off of work, that I was not scheduled for a cleaning. Although the staff had already worked it out and got me scheduled with the hygienist, the dentist then came in the exam room and argued semantics as to why I should not have thought to be scheduled for a cleaning as well. I explained that I had requested for both a check up and cleaning, when I scheduled the appointment, and was not told otherwise. I don't think any patient should have to defend this, nor be put in that situation, it's just common sense. I stated to this dentist that ALL of our numerous previous appointments were always combined with both a check up and cleaning following and IF that was not the case then communication was paramount. Instead of apologizing for the misinformation she argued with me and then had her staff inform me that she would not perform the check up. Trust me when I say that I was MORE than happy to leave, however before leaving I requested for the corporate office number to voice the complaint and the staff refused to provide me with the corporate number. As stated by the office manager "I don't have that number to give you as I am not allowed and you will have to go online and get it." I did call the corporate office, the Great Exprssions located down the street, explained the situation, and a representative happily gave me the phone number. I will say that the office manager and the corporate office seemed genuinely concerned about the situation. On a great note, this has motivated me to find a new practice for not just myself, but for my husband and children as well. Changing practices has been long coming and something we have wanted to do anyway. Although a Great Expression location down the street has welcomed me and my entire family to their practice, we have transferred to Mystic Oaks in Wesley Chapel to Dr. Sarwan. I have been there for my first visit already and absolutely, without reserve LOVE LOVE this dentist and staff. Dr. Sarwan made time to do a thorough exam and did my cleaning right after. The DENTIST did the cleaning herself!!!!! She sees children too. Saying goodbye to corporately owned and operated dentists! We will longer will see a different dentist every visit and will have continuity for years to come!!! I could not be more happy with all things considered and needless to say she has a 5 star rating. read more

I am writing this letter to inform you of the poor representation of your company, that was displayed today. Please allow me to tell you the story of the worst customer experience ever. First allow me to give you the background of the occurrences that led up to todays event. I had an appointment earlier in the year at Great Expressions Wesley Chapel 1748 Bruce B Downs 33544, I believe it was January. When I arrived, I realized that my usual hygienist was no longer employed there. An assessment was done by Gabbi, (I am not sure if that was her name because when I told them I wanted their names in order to report to cooperate, the manager gave me an attitude and stated I don't need their full names). Gabbi did an assessment and said that a cleaning would cost me 600$ and this is after insurance. I stated that I have had cleanings done here a lot and they never cost this much (usually 200 after insurance). I told her I even purchased the better insurance through my job in order to pay less, but she insisted on this amount. I asked her if she would consider doing a regular cleaning instead because I could not afford that price at this time and I already took time off from work to get to this appointment. She refused so I left. At this point I was convinced to find another dentist because I felt cheated. Life happened and now it is May, I know I need to get my teeth cleaned. I started over the counter fluoride treatments in order to help my teeth, but I knew I needed a deep cleaning. I get a call Saturday April 27th from great expressions trying to schedule an appointment. I completely explained my concern with want happened at my last visit, and I told her that I could not afford a 600$ cleaning. She told me that I had various option and would not have to pay that amount. I agreed to set an appointment. My appointment was 5/2/19 at 240. I got to the office early at 1:50. I was not called back until after 3. When Gabbi ?? came in the room, I explained to her that I was told there were less expensive options. She had an attitude and proceeded to go get the Dr. The doctor did an assessment of my mouth and quoted me a much more reasonable price and explained to me what needed to be done. The doctor was the only one that was respectful and quality focused. I agreed to the price. I signed the paper. I could tell that Gabbi had an attitude because the doctor helped me. To be honest I was afraid to have Gabbi working on my mouth because of her mannerism. I felt threatened like she might want to do something vindictive to hurt me. I saw her talking about me to the manager. I'm guessing she was upset because the doctor gave me an accurate quote and made her look questionable. I place my glasses on to start the cleaning and another girl comes in and says what do you want me to do with your next appointment? Gabbi states," I don't know I guess just explain that I will be late. "The girl comes back in and said the appointment rescheduled for Monday. Gabbi says, "I have another appointment in 30 minutes, don't reschedule her." The next thing I know I am being told that they can't do my cleaning (that I was scheduled for) today and I would have to reschedule. I asked her what do you mean? I missed work again to make this appointment. The manager (I was told Renetta, I am not sure if she gave me the correct name so I will be happy to describe her) told me to get out of the chair and reschedule my appointment. I told her I really needed to get my teeth taken care of and the manager repeatedly told me to get up and reschedule. I was embarrassed because I have never been so disrespected by a healthcare worker. I was so upset that I left shaking. Before I left, I asked for a corporate number to contact someone about the injustice that I received. I was given a business card and told we don't have a cooperate contact number. I have a few questions that I need to ask. 1. Are you offering a service to the community and if in fact if you are, what process are in place to teach the employees effective customer service? On a side note, while I was waiting in the lobby, I heard the workers calling patients and patient's family "MA, and Grandma," instead of addressing them as Mrs. Jones or even their first name. So unprofessional!! 2. Please tell me why you would pick Rennetta (if this Is her name), to be a manager and represent your company? I am a manager myself in healthcare, and I can assure you that this is not manager material. As an manager, in a huge branch of hospitals, I can assure you that we are held to high standards of treating everyone with dignity and respect. Do you feel like I was treated with dignity and respect? Is this how you would want to be treated or better yet how you would want your family member treated? 3. My last question to you, "Is this behavior representing you as a company accurately and is this a behavior condoned by the Great Expression corporation"? Worst experience ever read more

They took great care of my husband. We came in for a visit and they fit him in same day to do a procedure he needed done. Everyone from the front desk to billing and the dentist was super friendly and helpful. They kept me updated on how he was doing. We will be back in 6 weeks for a follow up. read more

So I like to start this by saying that I have my previous 2 dentists have been at great expressions locations so I am pretty loyal to the brand. However this great expressions is far from what I have been accustomed to. My first visit was okay but the second and third visits was nothing short of nightmares. My second visit they asked me to come a little early but when I got there the entire staff was on a lunch break and when I asked them why they asked me to come in early they receptionist literally told "I don't know why they told you that".But what sealed the "never going back deal" was the third visit. Right when I got there the receptionists were having an argument. One of them got sent home crying her eyes out. So that was super unprofessional. Then it was my turn, the lady came in to the room I was in and told we needed x-rays, THIRD VISIT AND THIRD TIME THEY WERE DOING X-RAYS. Never had that happen at any of my other dentists. Then the actual dentist comes in and I couldn't tell if she was trying to sell me a used car or bully me into a 3k procedure on the spot. When I told them I was not comfortable making that decision without getting a second option they sent the receptionist, the same one that got into an argument when I walked in, to also try to pressure me into getting the procedure done right now. I don't usually get very animated but after telling all of them that I was not making that kind of decision without getting a second option I got pretty frustrated. Like I said at the beginning I went to other great expressions before and they were great but this one is straight up TERRIBLE. 1 star is actually too many. read more

Most disgruntled experience I have ever had in medical office. I had appointment at 9:40 am on September 18th. I have arrived with two kids 10 minutes prior to my appointment time. We have waited for one hour and fifteen minutes, no one bothered to check if patient was in the waiting room, finally hygienist called my first child at 10:45. Unfortunately, our nightmare had just begun. The hygienist was careless, unprofessional, forgetting to check with past medical history records, could not locate x-rays records, and hygienic protective equipment for my 4 years old daughter. The cleaning process took only 5 minutes, nevertheless we spent tortures three hours at the clinic. In addition, the front desk clerk was rude and obnoxious, using totally unprofessional language and showed us complete disrespect and even personal hatred just because neither hygienist nor clerk could not finalize the paperwork summary. Both were arguing what to rerecord what not and did not even bother prompt to schedule the next appointment. Thus, I would never go back to Great Expressions Dental Centers, because of front desk clerk was rude, obnoxious and unprofessional, hygienist acted careless and unprofessional and the fact that it took us three hours of aggravation. Obviously, the management allows ignorant front desk and hygienist emotionally to scold patients and do not my business. I have learned my lesson and will take my business some were else. read more

The reason for my new patient appointment was that my current employer changed dental plans for the new year. The place was packed. My appointment was at 11am, I was not taken back until 12:15. The assistant took many X-rays of my teeth with lack of care and even left a sore in my mouth from jamming the X-ray tabs in and out. The doctor entered, did not introduce herself, did my exam and told me I had periodontal disease. I am very good about seeing the dentist 2x a year and this was the first time I was educated on this. When I asked what I could be doing at home to help improve my, "disease" her reply was, "nothing." I asked, so if I floss, brush more and use mouth wash this will not help? Her reply was NO. They proceeded to tell me about my "treatment plan," which included a $705 (after insurance) deep clean in multiple sessions. I went to the front desk to create an appointment and told them at this time my budget would not allow for the "deep cleaning," that I would like to schedule an appointment for whatever my insurance plan would cover and her reply was NO....since the dr diagnosed you with periodontal disease the only thing we can offer is a deep cleaning. I asked if I could sign a waiver stating I understood it was recommended, however I was unable to participate in the deep cleaning and wanted to do whatever was covered? The assistant ended up at the desk too and made a smart remark that my previous dentist was just offering me a basic cleaning and "spreading the disease all over my mouth." I ended up just saying I guess this isn't going to work out and I won't be returning. It was just a horrible experience and dirty facility at best. So disappointed! Had the worst appointment ever! I am new to the area and had to go to this place for a teeth cleaning because of my insurance option. When I showed up for the appointment (which I made over the phone) they told me that I wasn't on the schedule but will "fit" me in. I was brought back and they told me I needed new x-rays, which was fine. After my x-rays, I waited 40 minutes but no one came around. Then the dentist came to look at my teeth and told me I needed a filling, which was also fine. Then they brought me the treatment plan and charges for the filling. So I said "what about my cleaning? That's what I am here for, a cleaning." So they "fit" me in again for a cleaning. It took 3 minutes for a cleaning and fluoride treatment. I have never had such a fast cleaning. They did not do a good job. They barely cleaned my teeth. I could have done a better job at home just brushing my teeth. This is a terrible excuse for a dental office. Seems like they only care about getting your money and not taking the time to do a good job. The communication among staff members are terrible. I was there for 3 hours and had a 3 minutes cleaning!
