We signed June 26, 2023 for a large pool, patio and pavilion job with Amazing Outdoors. There were so many issues with this project along the way (too long to list here but all documented in texts and emails) from design to permit to pool install until finally April 2024 when Matt began admitting they did not have the workers to complete the job in a timely manner but was trying the best he could. We had several calls/texts/emails from March to June regarding his visa workers not coming in and not having enough laborers. Our job just sat. Meanwhile, our pool became a swamp, and one year after signing, we weren't even close. He tried to bring in other companies to finish the work as he didn't have the crew to do it (although we never actually received quotes from those companies). And told us we'd have to pay these contractors directly to do the work that he was supposed to do. That was not part of our contract. Much of the work they had done was piece-mealed and not done correctly - just a few examples given by a third-party licensed Class A Contractor: Wall comes out from the house and is not parallel with the existing house wall Auto cover box needs to be re framed, it's not level and bows out in a few areas Pool does not appear to be set on a sand base or stone dust base Pool walls bow in on the long walls of the pool (I think that's why the wood framing is in place along the long walls across the pool). Unless we reset the pool there is nothing we can do to adjust Pipes from the pool equipment don't appear to be covered with stone dust. It's covered with smaller gravel, hopefully no puncture issues with the pipes. No telling what happens in a few years The fireplace isn't squared with the pool. Side to side is 3" off, assuming pool is square that we measure from The fireplace center is settling/sagging down. Each mortar joint is filled with a different thickness on all four sides. The fireplace kit needs to be rebuilt, including the side walls. The footers at the fireplace need to be redone. There are three slabs total; there should've only been one large slab. At this point, we had lost all confidence in his ability, and he hasn't kept to his contract. Finally in June 2024 he said we could get our materials and 'shore up' on what was owed and part ways. When we pushed to get our materials delivered he finally admitted that he did not have our materials as he said he did and that he would need more money to release the materials. On June 24, 2024 Matt Simpson sent an email requesting us to use the remainder of the funds that are to be paid to complete the job to vendors to get our materials. These materials should have already been paid for with the money we gave to the contractor. He stated many times that they were 'on the way' or 'going to be delivered' but now admits that he does not have the money to get them. He stated verbally on 6/24/24 that he used our funds 'to keep the company afloat.' He has essentially stolen from us. And now we are left with this in our backyard. We have emails and texts with proof of every single one of these items below. We just want our money back so we can finish the job with another qualified contractor.

We terminated our contract with AO on October 14 with the project less than half completed. The many times Matt promised workers would arrive and work would be done, then nobody showed up, constitute a breach of contract on his part. The quality of the work is not to a workmanlike standard. I have photos and texts to prove all these statements. We wired them 3 payments in June, July and August. These payments included a deck bridge on which they started work without securing a building permit (which owner Matt Simpson told us he had) and didn't follow the architects' plans: the work they started will have to be redone. The payments also include an automatic pool cover ($12,500.00) we did not receive and $3,500.00 for site restoration. In August we wired him an amount to cover all remaining materials: we did not receive them. It has come to our attention that this is standard practice for him: to collect money up front and leave projects unfinished. He has left people's yards hazardous, with unfinished steps, no railings, unfenced pools and construction debris. We are in contact with six other of his clients who have had similar experiences and we know there are more. Since beginning our project, he has closed down his physical office and is reachable only at a UPS mail box. He has updated his website to make it more attractive to potential clients. He continues to take money from new customers without performing the contracted work.
