Update: Paul Davis came a week and a half after ripping out our floors to install. They got done for the day and said, by the way we ran out of flooring because we didn't order enough. They let us know they figured this out the week before but didn't bother to tell us. Then it took them another three weeks to get the rest of the flooring. It's laughable that they claim my husband and I were misaligned. We were not, it's another lie and attempt to avoid accountability. It's also funny that they are pretending the owners care because I called corporate and the owners were supposed to call us and never bothered. Basically this company avoids talking to you so they can lie about what happened. They then did damage and said things were broken before and they would send pictures to prove it. If you are looking for a pro/con list for Paul Davis then read on.. The positive - Paul Davis (PD) is quick to be at an accident. In my family's case they were the first restoration there after an accident from our tenant damaging the deck and main floor of our townhouse in April 2021 (around 600sqft of space) That may be the only positive we encountered in 16 months with them.. The negatives - Timelines are meaningless and are just a lick in the air. They provided us a timeline to be originally finished by November 2021, the project was ultimately finished at the end of July 2022 (16 months later). Our home sat for weeks on end with nothing being done and we emailed/called/texted any way we could to reach anyone at PD. They just provided excuses, false new timelines, or ignored our calls. The other negative is poor project Management/program Management. They passed us on from one manager to another and each ignored our request to obtain power at the home. As a result, our home sat without power from April 2021 until almost January 2022 as they did not apply for the permit with NOVEC until December 2022. PD blatantly ignored our concerns. I had to pay NOVEC directly so they could release the paperwork in order for the construction crew to start restoring power to the home as PD said it would take PD an extra 10-14 days to process a check to get this paid to NOVEC. They also approach materials for the home as an afterthought. They waited until 8 months - December/January 2022 to start securing materials for the deck rebuild. Another negative is the quality of subcontractors is poor. The majority of the work is completed by subcontractors yet their contractors could not apply the permits correctly throughout the project. One applied the plumbing permit onto the deck permit which kept getting denied. PD went through 3 plumbing contractors to get the issue fixed while the house sat with nothing being done for practically 2 months. Lastly, the cherry on top...On Aug 30th 2022, PD sent a non-detailed invoice for over $23,000 for supplemental work, after we had paid the entire originally estimated amount. Thankfully they had to go through our insurance adjustor and the settled on around $3,700 in additional monies owed (after 8+ weeks). Be wary of working with this company. I would not recommend Paul Davis to do any work on your home. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, they are just ambulance chasers. They can't do the work in a timely manner and you will spend most of your time babysitting them. read more

This is the absolute worst set of "professionals" we have ever encountered. We had the misfortune of getting paired with them through an insurance claim in August via Liberty Mutual. It is now March of the following year, and we have been awaiting a refund of many thousand dollars for materials that was paid directly to Paul Davis by our insurance company (but owed to us) for almost 6 months now. Despite sending email after email and calling every individual assigned to our project daily or weekly, no one has the professional skillset required to follow up adequately. They will promise you things over the phone, and just never follow up after. Even though the contractors themselves were decent, I would absolutely never recommend this organization to anyone needing restoration or renovation work because of the abhorrent project management and accounting departments. read more

My insurance company (USAA) sent Paul Davis Restoration to my home to mitigate water damage caused by a dishwasher leak that the first restoration company I had hired failed to complete. (The first company lied about being a USAA preferred vendor.) After firing the first company, a Paul Davis project manager, came to my home on that same day to assess the situation, reported it to my insurance company and sent photos, and sent a crew out the next day to remove all the wet ceramic tile and gypcrete flooring underneath it, that was left in place for five days by the first restoration company. Before starting work, the Paul Davis team covered everything with plastic so that my personal items would not get covered in dust, they cleaned up the area very well afterwards and set up a large dehumidifier and three large powerful floor fans to dry out the floor and underneath one of the cabinets next to where the dishwasher sat. They came back to check on the drying progress, retested or moisture and everything was completed in less than three days. They were very professional and did an amazing job! Their project managers are very nice and caring! I understand why they are an approved/preferred vendor with my insurance company. The cost was also very reasonable as well. I was repeatedly disappointed in the work of Paul Davis throughout the two months it took them to work on the water damage in my home. USAA chose them as a vendor and I thought it would be easier that way. There was damage to my walls, ceiling, moldings, and floors. They began with a detailed scope of work for which they were paid in full, but did not entirely complete. While the SOW stated remove and replace, they instead patched and painted over. When I asked them to do the work correctly they came back and re-did the work. There were several times when I was given start times that were inaccurate, several times when contractors would simply show up at my door without notice. On the day that they demolished and laid the flooring they came two hours early, dumped the old flooring in my flower beds, left my carpets balled up on the furniture which was not replaced, left dried paint, furniture scratches, and globs of dried glue on the new flooring. None of the transitions matched the flooring and did not actually match each other. There was a portion in the hall which was warped, popping up an inch or more. When I brought this to their attention they came back to review and said that they could schedule someone to come back and address all the these issues. Someone came back, but said he didn't have the materials to fix the issues, but could maybe trim the flooring where it was warping. He was going to install the special order window molding, but found that it had been mis-measured and wouldn't fit. There were several more visits, at least eleven. Eleven times I had to take off work. In the end the ceilings look fine, the walls and window molding look fine. The flooring lies flat now after almost a year, but still squeaks when we walk on it, and molding is pulled away from the wall in that section. There were two separate claims with the insurance company. On the first claim Paul Davis failed to complete 9% of the scope of work, but were paid 100%. On the second claim Paul Davis did not complete 20% of the scope of work, but were paid 100%. I chose not to have them come back any more times to repair their work. There was no reason to believe they would do it correctly this time. I let USAA know that they had paid Paul Davis for work that was not done. I would not recommend Paul Davis. read more

Very Happy with Paul Davis job at my house!! Short story long had a flooding at my townhouse and three floors got damaged back in March. They repaired ceilings, replaced floors and repainted everything and in approximately a month and a half my house was back to normal. I'm really grateful for the awesome and personalized attention I got from everyone involved in the repairs. Thanks a lot to Mr Greene their estimator, Tina their amazing job coordinator, Mr Vallone (project manager) and his team and Mr Chehreh (from AJ carpets and flooring) for going the extra mile to bring my home back to normal and for always being there to answer all my questions and concerns. Very unprofessional. Agent boched filing estimare correctly and delayed getting repairs approve. Had my attorney review contract and forwarded concerns to contractor and owner. Owner never responded to my concerns about the contract. When my insurance agent asked the owner to call me he never did. Contractor informed me she was going out of town bu when I inquired who would be handling her case load while she was gone never returned my text. Called owner one last time about the job and the contract and asked for a return phone call. He never called backed. Three days after the contrator left town she called me and left a message saying the owner was concerned with my issues with contract and didn't want to change it. Asked if we had spoken. Called owner after contractor voicemai and owner finally answered. Rudely cut me off while I was talking and basically said the job was large enough for him to answer my concern. I am in the process of a project with Paul Davis Restoration. It's a small project but a big headache -- all from dealing with PDR. Lack of transparency and communication are just the beginning of the story. Supposed "professionals" who no-show, excuses and delays out the wazoo. My apt. has sat, unworked on for 2 weeks. Why? This project was scheduled well in advance, there was no reason not to have staff assigned. Instead of project execution, I get excuses. Do yourselves a favor and DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I contracted this company to do a job for me and it was never completed and make matters even worse the owner and the corporate office all never did and never had any intent of resolving the issues. They are quick to make all kinds of promises and give you the honest you can trust us speech, but after that it will become your worse night mare. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional, unorganized company performing subpar work. Our neighbor's house caught fire in October 2020, causing some damage to our house (we are the tenants of this rental home and have been the ones dealing with living through all of these repairs) as well. We are STILL dealing with repairs from this incident 9 months later. When the project first began, the estimator that initially came out to our property introduced himself as the project manager for the entire series of repairs. This came out to be a total lie as I have dealt with upwards of 4 different individuals presenting themselves as "project managers" for three different divisions of Paul Davis. All of them except one were non-responsive, non-communicative, and always wanted to pass the problem to someone else. When the work first commenced, all of our insulation was removed from our attic in early November by the first "project manager" and his crew. When I followed up with him after not hearing anything about new insulation installation a few days later (and with the temperature dropping to dangerous levels at night), he told me "oh, I don't handle that, you have to contact the project manager that does installations." All repairs the house needed followed this pattern until we finally had a competent and communicative project manager handling our painting and carpet installation (shoutout to Nick O. for being the only good communicator/professional throughout this entire experience). After the carpet and paint was completed the crew did NOTHING to clean the home which was essentially destroyed as a construction site. I personally spent an entire weekend deeply cleaning the home and clearing all the construction dust. They also reinstalled curtain rods with nails instead of screws, causing one set of rods to fall directly on my head. There were nails put directly through doors after the painting, and some of the closet organizing racks were poorly reinstalled and had places where they had punched entirely through the drywall. The siding crew completely punctured a nail through the drywall as well. You will want to pull your hair out due to all the added stress caused by their lack of communication, overall disorganization of their business, and the subpar and damaging work their crews perform. read more

Paul Davis of NOVA isn't a Large Loss Reconstruction company. They do not have the staff or the sub-contractors to perform Large Loss reconstruction. After a tree fell on my house 224 days ago they have only been able to perform 17 days worth of reconstruction. An independent auditor stated they had only completed 35% of the total repair which was 75 days ago and since then have only performed 8 additions days of reconstruction. I have been very vocal of my dissatisfaction with their lack of interest in working on repairing my home, however nothing continues to get done. Some things to know: Paul Davis is a national franchise so when you read the reviews keep that in mind. Paul Davis of NOVA is actually Hat Over The Wall Enterprises, Inc which is who'll you'll sign a contract with. Here's is a statement out of their contract to understand: "Customer shall have no right to let or to contract the Work or any part to any person or entity other than PDR without the express written consent of PDR, which it may withhold in its sole discretion." This means for the period of time stated in your contract with them, weather they come out to work on your house or neglect to like on mine, you can't hire another company. I could continue to list all the hardships, the neglect, the poor performance, the lack of quality, the poor customer service, the wasted time however it would be the size of a book. My insurance guy said this job should have taken only 3 months, PDR is in month 7 at 35% complete and when I ask them when they'll be done, they don't know but it's looking like it may take another 5 months. They were under contract to complete between 4 - 6 months. I do not recommend PDR of Ashburn VA for any Large Loss reconstruction. read more

Our homeowners insurance brought this business forward to repair damage to our garage door and abutting wall. Their proposal was contained in a multi-page, one-sided contract allowing themselves 90 days for what turned out to be a 2-day repair job. They wanted to do engineering studies and pull permits - both completely unnecessary. Paul Davis was offering a $20,000 solution for a $10,000 problem. Imagine paying this company out of your own pocket. We went elsewhere and recommend you do the same. read more

Need a restoration company after water damage? STOP!!! DO NOT USE PAUL-DAVIS!! Working with this firm was very stressful, disappointing and time consuming (4 months to do the floor and walls in one 14 ' x 14' room even though the insurance $ arrived in one week). 1) They lied by listing in their estimate items that do not have to be done. 2) They hire very inexperienced carpenters (3 of whom came in a painting truck) who do horrible, shoddy work. a. they put too few nails into the dry wall- not even half as many as required and they refuse to add more than 4 or 5 nails. b. they poorly pieced the molding over the doorways to cut costs. c. they cut the wire to our security system and blew the panel so our alarm system had to be completely replaced. 4) we indicated, with photos, 10 items that really needed to be addressed and the project manager had the carpenters return and only redo 3 of them. So now we have to live with the remainder of unacceptable and very noticeable short cuts. 5)The person who installed the carpeting also had to return to correct the job he did. My neighbors water heater failed and leaked a lot of water into my first floor hallway in my condo early one Sunday morning. After the Fire Department came and shut everything down - I called my insurance company, and they connected me with Paul Davis Restoration. They came right out on a Sunday morning and began clean up of the damaged area - removing all of the water, starting the drying out process, and removing damaged drywall, water logged insulation and such. I was very pleased with how quickly they responded and addressed the task at hand. read more

Paul Davis Restoration completed the job BEAUTIFULLY in four days. They laid the gorgeous porcelain tile planks perfectly and touched up the cabinets after water mitigation had ripped up the original tile to dry everything out. The room downstairs looks better than ever with it seamless repairs and a new beautiful paint job. I can't recommend Paul Davis and their teams enough. read more

I live in a condo/townhouse with a unit above me and I'm the ground floor. Unfortunately, 6 weeks ago my neighbors that live above dishwasher broke and water flooded their kitchen. A small amount of water leaked into my movie room and pooled into the drywall causing slight damage. Not the end of the world as the damage looked minor. Paul Davis was doing the repair for my neighbors and contacted me quickly for an initial damage inspection. Great! 1st guy comes to inspect and a week goes by and another team contacts me for another inspection. I assume this 2nd team will give me an estimated cost for repair so I can send this to insurance? Nope, they say they are just here to inspect. "Ok, so what was the 1st guy inspecting then?" I say. Inspector just shrugs. Another guy calls from Paul Davis and informs me he needs to inspect again a week later. "Fine, sure," I say. I guess this is the process? He comes and does his thing and another 10 days go by and I received no followup. I email Paul Davis to see what's going on after not hearing from anyone and I get a call & email from Project Manager Richard Shelton -"The last guy quit, sorry, we need to inspect again" he says. Now I was clearly getting frustrated, so I emailed Mr. Shelton to hold off on a 4th "inspection" until this pandemic calms down. We're talking about a 2-inch hole in my drywall, so it wasn't an immediate fix on my part.(However, my wife was concerned about potential mold damage behind the walls.) A few weeks go by and it seems things are getting better in the area. I emailed Mr. Shelton again to have the 4th inspection team out at their next convenience. Three days go by and no response. A simple "Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we are only doing emergency situations for water damage until further notice." I would have completely understood. Nope, I didn't even get that. After I send another followup email, Mr. Shelton apologizes and said he "forgot to reply due to being very busy." These are trying times now, I get it. I legitimately feel bad these guys have to come into people's homes now exposing them to risk. Maybe Paul Davis does great work and more than likely I got them at a bad time, but I will never know. I will say that Mr. Shelton and the prior three teams they sent to my house to constantly "inspect" a tiny hole have been polite, thus the 2 stars. However, I've moved forward to another restoration company. No need to waste everyone's time at this point. read more

I had hired the worst contractor in Alabama (Nick Chobey) who was referred to me by Rick'n'Ball in January 2021. This was a huge, stressful, costly mistake. I had realized how inexperienced, inept, and dishonest Nick was, but this was confirmed when I hired a professional company, Paul Davis. Paul Davis, in particular Eric Henson, came to my rescue in March 2021. They took on a job that was so messy and disorganized from my previous contractor (Nick Chobey). Eric was extremely knowledgeable on what needed to be fixed and organized plans going forward. I can't emphasize enough about Eric's knowledge. He's a problem solver, works hard to get results, and is very responsive. Eric made me feel like we were on a team. Honesty is a big deal and, as we moved through this project, I truly felt he had my best interest in mind. Once I recover from the trauma of the kitchen project (it will take a while) I plan to hire Paul Davis for a bathroom remodel with complete confidence the job will be done right! Before reading my review just know, that I'm a former contractor, a professional estimator and sometimes a pain to deal with. The person that initially came out for our water leak was a hot mess. I was told he didn't want to open things up because "it was too expensive" and while on speakerphone with his manager he loudly said "I'm not paying for cabinets". The only shining light from the remediation side of the company is the Manager, David. The contractor that came out to remove our kitchen sink cabinet was very likable. The face of the cabinet was going to be reused but not refinished so I'm not sure why the contractor forcefully hit the face of the cabinet with a framing hammer. My project manager set up an appointment for us to look for a new countertop on Saturday. Once I met with the owner of the countertop store he told me that Paul Davis does not give him a credit amount for my old countertop. Unfortunately I had to call my estimator on a Saturday to see what kind of allowance I had to spend on a new countertop. My estimator scolded me for going to this early appointment, that my project manager set up, and refused to give me any type of budget number. I tried to explain that I didn't need to know what the insurance was paying them, their margins, or what they negotiated with the granite store. I was only asking for what I was allowed to spend on a counter top so I would know how much I would have to pay for upgrading to a nicer countertop. My estimator then told me that I needed to find a new contractor because they wouldn't tell me what I was allowed to spend d before any extra money would become my responsibility. I know the owners and I think they are great people but the customer service needs work. read more

I worked with Paul Davis for both water remediation and restoration after my bottom level condo was flooded due to a broken water heater. They were very fast to come out and get everything removed and ready for the restoration team. The project manager Rich was fantastic and went above and beyond the call of duty. He was very fast to respond, even on the weekend. Everything was completed with excellent results. These kinds of project can be a major headache and with Rich and Paul Davis, it was a breeze and not stressful at all. I would recommend these guys to anyway. A+!! read more

We had some water damage in a crawl space and found debris and building material. I initially considered a few other companies, but I'm so glad we went with Paul Davis as they discovered additional debris/water in the crawl space which they had all the necessary equipment to remove that same day. Irving was particularly helpful and very professional. Went above and beyond with the work done and even gave me some ideas/suggestions for other parts of the basement to protect against water damage. Their estimate was very reasonable and even the change orders were clearly explained and reasonable. My big concern is always a company coming out, finding a new problem, and then charging a ridiculous amount extra for that work. That was not the case with Paul Davis. They were knowledgeable, fair, and upfront about what to expect. Definitely recommend to anyone who needs restoration and clean-up work. 5-star service and work. read more

In January 2018, my husband and I had a substantial water leak in our master bathroom that bled through to the kitchen ceiling. USAA, our home insurance provider, recommended that we use Paul Davis Restoration (PDR), their preferred vendor, because we could have all of the work coordinated and completed by one company in one fell swoop rather than having to arrange for multiple contractors to have to complete each individual step in the bathroom/kitchen renovation that we needed. (Because the damage to our bathroom floor and vanity was substantial, we decided to have our bathroom completely redone.) Things started off promisingly enough. Charles and his team promptly reached out to us to schedule a time to come over and assess the damage. They then tore up the floor in our bathroom and installed a giant fan to dry things out. All of this was completed promptly, and Charles stayed in touch to let us know how things were proceeding and what the next steps would be. Once Charles and his team finished, however, it became an absolute mess. We had everything for the remodel (flooring, tile, paint, shower fixtures, vanity, mirror, etc.) selected as of March 2018. Work was to have begun in April 2018, but because of my husband's and my work and travel schedules, the start date had to be pushed back to mid-July. The items that we paid for (vanity, sink, mirror, lighting fixture) were delivered a week before the work began. All of the other items that we'd selected (sink and shower faucets, shower head, hand-held sprayer) and that PDR was to have ordered either were not ordered, were ordered but never delivered, or were ordered and lost in the warehouse. We never did get a straight answer about what had happened. Given that PDR had nearly 4 months in which to order and take delivery of these items, and that several of these items were manufactured in and had to ship from Italy, it's inexcusable that such a massive mistake could have been made. I called and emailed our case manager, Kyle M., multiple times over the course of those four months to ensure that everything was in order, that they'd received all of the shipments, and to ask if there was anything else that we needed to do to ensure that everything was in place for the remodel. It was quite literally like pulling teeth to get Kyle to respond; it could take a week or more to hear from him, which was incredibly frustrating. Because of PDR not having all of the parts needed for the remodel, a two-week project that we were told would be straightforward turned into a nearly two-month piecemeal project, with workmen coming in and out of our house for weeks at a time - one day one week, two days the next week - because parts had to be ordered or reordered, projects were double-booked, workers weren't able to come to our house, and other excuses. They even forgot - FORGOT - to paint both the kitchen and the bathroom ceiling, as we'd requested. It was absolutely ridiculous. Equally as infuriating was the damage that was done to our front door and stairwell that Ben, the project manger, seemingly hoped we wouldn't notice. Our storm door was torn off its hinges, part of the door frame was ripped up, and major gouges were made in the baseboards and walls leading into our bathroom. It wasn't until I took photos and emailed them to Ben that he apparently realized the damage and promised it would be taken care of. Since the remodel was finally completed in September, we've had to have PDR back four times to fix poor workmanship, including caulking and molding, incorrect repairs, loose fixtures, and cracks in the shower. We now have to have PDR come out a fifth time to fix yet another bit of poor workmanship (reattaching a shower diverter that snapped off for no reason) and it is again like pulling teeth to have anyone reach out to us. My initial phone call to request that someone come to our home to look at the problem wasn't answered until a week later - and only after I'd called a second time to find out what the delay was. Chris finally came to take a look at the issue two weeks after that initial phone call, and it's now been a full week since he came to do that inspection and I've not heard a word - again. Now I have to call PDR yet again - three weeks after the initial call to fix something as simple as a shower diverter - because PDR seemingly believes its the homeowner who should constantly have to call for updates rather than them notifying us of each step in the process and where things currently stand with our claim. If I could give PDR no stars, that's exactly what I would do. It has been exasperating working with this company. They are unprofessional, non-communicative, disorganized, and uninterested in customer service. They are absolutely awful and you would be well-advised to stay away from them. read more

My detached garage got on fire at the end of 2019. I contracted Paul Davis to do the new construction, they failed to get a new permit, brought material to site, material was left to elements, rain, sun, mold, etc; I asked to removed those materials since I wanted new material, not rotten, we are in 2022 and still they have not built my new garage; they don't answer email or phone calls. I'm not going to mince words: Our entire experience with Paul Davis Restoration has been such a nightmare of miscommunication, mistakes, and inferior work. Our house burned down 14 months ago and we are STILL not finished with the restoration, partly due to insurance delays in the beginning of the process, but mostly because nearly everything had to be done twice. I have two single-spaced pages of mistakes that were made by Nate K or subcontractors that were hired by Paul Davis - I finally stopped keeping track because it became so ridiculous. Having never had a house that burned down before, I didn't know exactly what to expect for the process, but here's how I feel it SHOULD go: The restoration team should tell us the plan, and we should be given the opportunity to give feedback BEFORE work is done. Most of the time, we were not given the plan in advance or given the opportunity to make adjustments, which caused major delays and frustration when we'd check the house to find that something had been done that we didn't approve. They didn't even tell us that they weren't working off of a house plan. If we had known that, we would have been able to give a lot more feedback and photos to try to get it right. Roof pitches are different and trusses are blocking storage space we previously had, which is not something that can be fixed once it's done incorrectly. Picking out finishes was fun... until we were told later that nearly everything we chose was way over budget and we'd need to reselect. Making choices on tile and cabinets and flooring when there weren't prices listed on anything was ridiculous and frustrating. They also miscalculated how much they needed of nearly every item, causing delays when we'd need to wait for more flooring or tile to finish the job. The process of ordering the rest of the selections (lighting, doorknobs, etc.) with Barbra was very disorganized. It was up to us to come up with the list of what needed to be chosen. Once we did make selections, they were more often than not ordered late or incorrectly. Every time I dropped by to check on the work that had been done, I was disappointed to find more mistakes. It was always alarming that I was the one to have to report mistakes instead of the contractor noticing it and reporting it to ME. More than once, I felt like I was having to instruct "the professionals" on how things should be done properly... like, that countertops need to go in before backsplash tile, siding should come before drywall, and that you need to remember to allow for drywall when measuring for kitchen cabinets. The stress of feeling like it was up to me to get it done correctly was constant. The language barrier with the subcontractors was also a serious issue. I couldn't communicate directly with them when there were issues, and even though I was assured there would always be someone who spoke English on site, that was not always the case. I'd have to resort to the frustrating process of emailing Nate (who was rarely on site until we were nearing the end of the project) and waiting for him to communicate the problem to the workers. That resulted in many miscommunications. Emails often went several days without a response, and I'm not talking about weekends. Our finish date was originally estimated to be August, but kept getting pushed back month after month. Our rental house lease ran out because Paul Davis didn't give us enough notice to extend so we had to find another rental and move, which was a huge hassle, since insurance only covers getting movers once. The only bright spot was the pack out/pack in with Vicki and her team. That lady is thorough and made me feel like she cared about helping us recover from our tragedy. If I could rate her separately, I certainly would give her five stars. I could write a book about all the things that went wrong, but I'll summarize: If you can handle the stress of micromanaging a large loss restoration, and can speak Spanish, there's a chance you'll end up with a decent restoration in the end. But if you don't have the knowledge or time to do that, you're doomed. Our house is mostly put back together, but there will still be things (lower kitchen cabinets that are visibly not square with each other, loss of storage space we had previously, sloppy drywall finishing, etc) that I'll have to live with, even though our insurance paid them an insane amount of money for essentially a brand-new house. I hate the idea of settling for less than perfect results after going through this whole ordeal, but I'm just ready for this to finally be over. I'm not unrealistic... I know unexpected problems come up and mistakes are made. I would have loved to have written a glowing review. But I used up all my patience about 8 months into the build. If I can save someone the hassle that I've lived through for the last 14 months, writing this crazy long review will be worth it. Do not hire Paul Davis. read more

If I were grading the actual work and finished product only this would be at least 4 stars. Unfortunately, working with the employees was nothing short of a nightmare. It was impossible to keep track of who was supposed to be managing my project and I could share at least 20 emails right now that were flatly never responded to. It seems like they have it together during the first visit but I assure you nothing could be further from the truth. Steer clear and look for smaller operations with good reviews that can't just hide behind and pass the buck on to co-worker after co-worker that also won't respond to your concerns or questions. I used Paul Davis Restoration to rebuild my condo after a 3rd party vendor created over $30k in water damage. The team I was assigned helped me from the start. While I was working with the 3rd party vendor's insurance, they checked in and offered to help by communicating with the adjuster. Once the work started, the PM, Rich, was at my condo nearly daily for set-up/ introduction to the contractors and to inspect the work. I had friendly and knowledgeable contractors work on condo and the work was completed in the time stated. I was communicated to along the way and provided next steps for each day and each contractor coming into my condo. They worked through the final punch list and my condo is back together again! read more

I actually didn't have work done by this company but called them inquiring if they could help with water in a flex duct situation. A gentleman by the name of Ray Spriggs answered the phone and was the most pleasant person I have talked to over the phone in a long time. Although he expressed to me that they did not deal with issues such as mine, he went out of his way, asked for my email and sent me a list of plumbers and HVAC companies I could reach out to. Mr. Spriggs is the reason I will work with this company in the future and recommend to family and friends as well. Thank you Ray for being kindhearted. read more

Ms. Vicki Henry and her crew of the Paul Davis Restoration Content Department did an outstanding job packing and unpacking the items at my house when I had water damage. They created the best display for the paint team to come in and do their dry walling and painting. Vicki's team was fast and efficient and loyal. Everybody was full of energy and paid close attention to the details of all my valuable items. Vicki Henry is a great leader, very professional and they did a super professional job at my home. Incredibly expensive, but that's only half the problem! Shaky business practices. In my case, I contacted them to come out to my house in Sept 2016. They did some initial work that same day. A month later, I agreed on a price with them for the job ($2,300) and we executed a work authorization form. I selected them as my contractor based on the work order. They did the work (which was very little for $2300) and I paid them. They then requested I sign a work completion order, which stated the work was done to my satisfaction, completed, and fully paid for. I signed this document in Dec 2016. In Jan 2017 I am informed that I still owe them $746. I ask, "for what", we agreed in writing on $2300 and I paid you? They come back and say, well we never charged you for the initial visit. I was "what"? I then make clear to them that we signed a work authorization form in Oct 2016 AFTER the initial visit (which I assumed contained the initial visit work), that I paid them the amount, and that then we agreed (at their request!!!) that all work was done and paid for via an executed work completion form. It gets better. They then get a lawyer on me, requesting I pay the full amount ($746) PLUS legal fees. They require I go to court to settle this. Not having the time or patience for this, I suggest we simply split the difference and I pay $373 of the $746. They simply say "NO" - AFTER I explain all I just explained above! So - morale of this story is: If you use these guys, be prepared for them to bill you extra after you agree on a price (i.e. work authorization forms mean little - they might bill you forever after the work is done!), and do not expect any admission of their shaky business practices or for them to compromise! read more

This is the 2d time I've had to use Paul Davis Restoration services. The first time I used them because my insurance company recommended them. The 2d time, I selected them myself based on my experience with them the first time around. They are very thorough, genuinely concerned, and takes the necessary time to ensure they provide a comprehensive service - identifying all of the problem areas and what is needed to resolve them. The one downside is that the process is sometimes time consuming but if you are not in a rush to get everything done and you want to ensure the job is done right, Paul Davis is definite the best choice. The various teams they employ to come out for different pieces of the process are all excellent and trustworthy. read more

Prior review in 2014 was posted to the incorrect Paul Davis office/ reposting to the VA one where services done: After I had water pipe burst back in January this year I worked through my insurance company with Paul Davis for the mitigation and repair work. The mitigation work was efficient- they came in within week after damage and they all seemed very professional- neatly dressed workers on site, organized paperwork and clear process. Next up was the estimation of repairs- Hands down, their estimator Stephen was excellent at his job. He got in with insurance adjuster and called out every detail between their estimates to ensure alignment. Loved his attention to detail and he was very patient with insurance process and my additional work requests. The only reason for 3 stars is due to the last part - the actual repair work - for which I can only attribute to the limited PM oversight combined with a number of errors by the subcontractors which made the experience sour for me. They did come back after I expressed my frustration to the manager. All in all it was a good experience with their team outside of that. read more

Paul Davis asked to inspect water and mold damage at my home between 10 and noon on a Friday. Said they would charge $250 for the visit. They didn't show, or call to say they'd be delayed. I called. Apologetically, they said they had double-booked that time. I might still try them. They're said to do good work. I have to doubt their reliability. read more
