Hello, I wanted to share some feedback about my recent visit on Wednesday night around 9:17 PM, shortly before closing at 9:30 PM. My friend and I stopped in for ice cream, and while we enjoyed the product as always, the overall customer service felt somewhat unwelcoming. The employees working at the time did not appear very enthusiastic or engaging, and one staff member was standing with crossed arms throughout the interaction. I completely understand that working in food service--especially near closing time--can be tiring, as I work in the industry myself. However, I believe maintaining a welcoming and positive atmosphere for customers is still very important. The girl working was really friendly and let us peruse all of the ice cream flavors without making us feel pressured to quickly choose and get out. Loved Abel's so much we went there I believe 3 times in a 5 day span. Place is just before the bridge headed out to Siesta Key tucked away in a plaza. Staff was young girls who were friendly and were willing to let you try samples of any flavor. We checked some other pricing out of ice cream places in Sarasota and they will a little pricey, but not at Abel's where you get the most bang for your buck. I got the birthday cake flavor which is one of their top sellers and chocolate mint.
