Hello, I wanted to share some feedback about my recent visit on Wednesday night around 9:17 PM, shortly before closing at 9:30 PM. My friend and I stopped in for ice cream, and while we enjoyed the product as always, the overall customer service felt somewhat unwelcoming. The employees working at the time did not appear very enthusiastic or engaging, and one staff member was standing with crossed arms throughout the interaction. I completely understand that working in food service--especially near closing time--can be tiring, as I work in the industry myself. However, I believe maintaining a welcoming and positive atmosphere for customers is still very important. I genuinely enjoy your ice cream and will continue making the 20-minute drive because of how much I like it. I simply wanted to offer constructive feedback that improving the ambiance and customer interaction could make the experience even better. read more

For the quality of the ice cream & the price, there truly is no better place than Abel's. With space to eat indoors and outdoors, this shop is perfect for a cool down treat after a hot day. The flavors are unique, featuring your standard flavors such as vanilla, chocolate, cookies and cream, to "whimsical" flavors such as spumoni and dreamsicle. I love an ice cream shop that has homemade ice cream, and this is pretty close with their ice cream being sourced locally. With additional snacks such as cookies and coffee, you really can't go wrong with a visit here. Can't wait to try more flavors! read more

We went swimming at Siesta Key and stopped in here on the way back to our Airbnb. The girl working was really friendly and let us peruse all of the ice cream flavors without making us feel pressured to quickly choose and get out. We each opted for a waffle cone and 2 different scoops of ice cream. Both were delicious and absolutely hit the spot after being out in the hot sun for hours. They also have a chocolate counter with fudge and truffles, so if ice cream isn't your thing, then they still have other treats! read more

Loved Abel's so much we went there I believe 3 times in a 5 day span. Place is just before the bridge headed out to Siesta Key tucked away in a plaza. Staff was young girls who were friendly and were willing to let you try samples of any flavor. We checked some other pricing out of ice cream places in Sarasota and they will a little pricey, but not at Abel's where you get the most bang for your buck. I got the birthday cake flavor which is one of their top sellers and chocolate mint. Both flavors were outstanding and they pack 2 scoops into a cup to give you a large portion at a great price, I will make sure I come back to Abel's again and again! read more

We went 3 times in 5 days! So good, every flavor is done so well. I'll list a couple favs, carrot cake, ELEPHANT EARS, toasted coconut, stellar coffee are all so great, I had elephant ears twice, tons of huge choc chunks and PB. Between three of us we tried 6 flavors. All delicious. The ice cream is so packed full with chunks of chocolate chips, e.g., you almost have to chew it. The ice cream is among the best we have ever had. The store is also very clean and fresh looking. We make a point of going there whenever we are in the area and will again. read more

Good ice cream. Usual flavors but generous portions. The service was friendly. It's in a strip mall, but there are a couple benches outside.

I love this place We stopped in shortly before closing. It was busy but while I was paying my wife did her magic and got us a table. The ice cream was delicious, I had their Salted Caramel Peanuts. We came during Memorial Day weekend and the store was filled with a decent amount of people. There was outdoor and indoor seating. Once you walk in, there is a wide range of homemade ice cream flavors. The staff are super nice and friendly. They also give free samples so don't miss out on that. The young lady, Elizabeth, behind the counter was charming and passionate about ice cream - I must have tried a dozen flavors before ending up with 3 different flavors squished into one single cup. Perfect!
